I think its the total abundance of musical ideas in just one song that is a trademark with Abba. Many song writers would make three or four songs out of this one and they'd all be fairly good ones. Its so fun to see you react at the same moments in the music that I myself have done through my 54 years alive 🇸🇪

So happy to see you again, Mariss & Tyler, return with more ABBA songs in your channel and un our ABBA journey Congratulations on your reaction to "Honey honey" (1974) very good and catchy song It is from the post "Waterloo" era of 1974, when ABBA was looking for its second success, and the revival of "Ring ring", plus the single "So long" did not achieve great impact and they had to wait for 1975 with the approach of "I do I do I do I do I do" and the definitive impact of "S.O.S." that will start your unbroken chain of successes "Honey honey" is from the group in which The boys on the one hand and The girls on the other sing verses in solo responding, as in the debut: "People need love" and the following: "He is your brother" and: "Love isn't easy" "Honey honey" also is the last song recorded by ABBA in swedish too There is a TV perfomance in Germany 1974 that you must see, with the smash hit "Waterloo" in first time The costumes they use are Superheroes with superpowers, they did it in 1974 from the promotional video for "Ring ring" (Note: in these perfomanece the TV host introduces the girls as 'Anna Frida' and 'Anna' ABBA had just won Eurovision and weren't massively famous yet, and since Agnetha was difficult to pronounce she uses 'Anna' , just like in Eurovision, to facilitate ABBA's popular and commercial insertion. in fact, in 1975 ABBA was not yet massive and you can see Agnetha and Frida wearing their names on the back of their iconic cat dresses) I'm so glad that you enjoy these It's a great song, my second favourite from the album " Waterloo" See you soon un the aftershow best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South America

All the movie made me want to do was to go and listen to the real thing. yep a huge hit in Germany, sold as much records as Waterloo and cemented their superstardom in Germany immediately in 1974. And it showed that they could deliver completely different styles.. Waterloo and Honey Honey couldn't be further apart... I love Honey Honey for it's hymnic orchestration with the strings. But i think the soft choirlike vocals are not their most distinctive. Dancing Queen or Mamma Mia displays their perfect vocals much better. But it's a very very good track. There was a cover from another band released in the UK and became a Top10 hit whereas the british follow-up to Waterloo failed to become hit.. it was a re-release of Ring Ring...

You know what? I did ABBA Songs a million times on Karaoke, as I REALLY love them a lot. And I was curious what you’d say about those lyrics. I am talking about this one here: “I'd heard about you before I wanted to know some more And now I know what they mean, you're a love machine Oh, you make me dizzy” I was so surprised when I did this song for the FIRST time. I always thought of how cheering and fun-spreading this tune is. And then they continue like: “You look like a movie star (look like a movie star) But I know just who you are (I know just who you are) And honey, to say the least, you're a doggone beast”. This song that sounds soooooooo innocent reveals kinda kinky when you take a closer look at it… hahaha, and I like! What’s YOUR opinion about it?

I told you! I knew you both would love this one! Yes, it’s early ‘sugar-pop’ ABBA - and part of why the band got such a bad rap for overt commercialism in the mid-70s…. But every time it came on the radio when I was a kid, it caused everyone to smile. You just can’t help it. It’s infectious pop at its best! It was one of my favourites when I was 7 years old. The harmonies are soooo sweet! You should check out the ‘live’ (OK - probably mimed) band performing this on German TV. kzread.info/dash/bejne/daaNw6SPpJfWgtI.html Check out their first recorded single - the ‘feel good’ classic: ‘People Need Love’!

For the huge majority they just simply adore this one...Abba harmonies of the 2 girls talents are always 1 joy but it is a rarer thing to have the male vocals also in 1 of their songs esp. as much as this 1 and then you have a killer instrumental for this also, it literally is pure joy.

“Honey to say the least, you’re a dog gone beast”, lyrics don’t get much better than that 😂 Seriously, ‘Honey Honey’ was from the very beginning of their career, and ‘Angel Eyes’ was from the end of their career, and while both are equally catchy songs, with ‘Angel Eyes’ you could see how much they had progressed both in their lyrics, and their production. So glad to see Marissa back. She should be in every video!

I don't think their production on Angel Eyes is so much _better_ really, rather another style, much less 1960s sounding than this. I sure like their heavier and/or more mature styles on later albums though. (Expecially the "The Visitors" LP, which sound almost kind of jazz-fusion-esk to me.)

Hi Tyler & Marissa! Gre reaction to "Honey Honey". This is my Abbasolute favorite song by ABBA! It always has been ever since the "Waterloo" album came out back in the 70's. I would like for you both to listen to this song on headphones with no interruptions or distractions. Focus on all the magic ingredients in this song & you will love it even more. I'm willing to bet that you'll be talking about this song with your friends & family! Please let me know your opinions. Take care! --- Bill (From Mt. Holly)
