Just a simply amazing performance by all, Patty and Scardust which features lead singer Noa Grumman and her choir which she also leads, 'Hellscore'. You really, really need to see and hear this. Ben Metzner of the group d'Artagnen even has a cameo as the bartender. Patty was too young when the instrument was named after her. They have been around for over 1000 years. Hurdy Gurdys are worn with a hip belt. If they are made entirely of wood, then they are heavy. That's why Patty had one built with a carbon base. Then weight is okay. The song has a tragic background. In 2021, a flood flooded the Ahr Valley in Germany, where Patty had also bought a house. The ground floor of the house was flooded and her studio with the studio technology and instruments was destroyed. By chance, her two hurdy-gurdies were with her parents, along with a backup of her computer, and were therefore safe. Patty herself was in Iceland. The insurance covered all damages, but it took time to pay out. Her fans raised money so she could continue working. Since then she has been calling these Gurdians and this song was born. Patty first appears in the pirate metal band Storm Seeker. I always love reactions to Pattys videos and therefore a big "thanks" from me. :-) Others had already told you more about her - but if you want to hear more about the hurdy-gurdy, there are actual two suggestions for you. Both are made in what's called a "orchestral multilayered hurdy-gurdy" way, which means that all or nearly all of the music was made with the hurdy-gurdy. Patty's great! This is a bit more "poppy" than her usual, still good tho! I'd recommend some of her collabs: _Farewell_ with dArtagnan, or _Concrete_ _Cages_ with Scardust. (I also like another one with dArtagnan, _Meine_ _Liebste_ _Jolie,_ which I don't think I've seen others mention.) If you want something short sometime, try her cover of Nightwish's _Last_ _Ride_ _of_ _the_ _Day_ (not the full thing but enough).
