The song is about a woman who was closer to her girl friends than her man. He ain’t gay!!! You need to realize he was not going to allow anyone to label him or put him in a box. If he liked something, he wore it, he wrote it, he played it….He was a true GENIUS. Prince is totally a vibe. And that beat is FUNKY just like his clothes. 😃

Prince was the only artist whom dudes used to laugh at because of the way he dressed, but who would also gladly hand over their ladies to him because they were so awestruck and privileged to be in his prescence. PRINCE was the ULTIMATE! Prince knew how to tap into the minds and heart of his female audience.

Prince was a fashion icon that had a different hairstyle and look for every one of his 39 official releases. He was a guitar god that mastered over 27 instruments. He was his own genre. He was a funk god that played jazz like nobody. Any comparison you may find between him and MJ isn't Prince's fault , although he was influenced by many , he is a true original. In other words MJ's Bad and Dangerous albums were in heavily influenced by Prince's sound at the time. He's just simply the greatest live performer EVER. 😊

I have more than 80 albums, most of them are bootlegs of live/gigs. That's only in CD format, I also have my editions in vinyl, VHS, DVD, BR and deluxe... I've been to live gigs 3 times. I'll tell you the difference between instrument and ‘instrument’: On his first album he played all instruments (on others too), that's correct. But 27 instruments is not a list of 27 different instruments from different families (strings, percussion, wind, brass...) such as: trumpet, violin, congas, cymbals, cellos, etc. 27 instruments means 27 different ‘pieces’: acoustic and electric guitars, a couple of basses, piano, various synthesizers, drum machines, synthesized basses, sequencers or whatever. Get it? If you're a real fan you should know that he never said he could play 27 different instruments. Only once did he answer (to Oprah?) ‘maybe...’ with a smile and a bit of acting. If you're a real fan you should know that you never read in the credits things like ‘Prince played the harp and harpsichord’. Now tell me the basics...

@@ScottLaVine-br8wt congrats for the 17 shows, I mean it, I feel envy for that. I live in the Basque Country (north Spain/south France) so you probably got it easier. The point is about the 27 "instruments" wich is an urban legend and Prince doesn't need it because HE IS THE LEGEND, a master, a king, almost a god. On the other hand you were answering to me, not to the reactor; look at the @. I treasure lots of bootlegs of his gigs, I specially love the "Small Club" (Live in "Paard Van Troje" in The Hague 1988) containing (IMO) his best solo ever in the cover of "Just My Imagination" (The Temptations). My love for his music grew up in every single one of these "unofficial" recordings.

THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER PRINCE IN THIS LIFETIME, HE IS A ONE OF A KIND!!!

This is normal, just check his covers of Jimmy Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, watch "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame days after Rolling Stones Magazine left him out of the list of 100 Best Guitarists Ever...
