How I wish I had seen this video back in 2004 when I got my dog (who accompanied me for 15 years and died in 2019). He did learn most of the "normal" commands after some time, but it was not really fun, nor was the "dog school" we went to. A fantastic video for everyone who has a puppy or plans to take one into his house. Thanks for sharing!

Mine was super easy to train, mostly because she came with me 24/7 for her first 2 years. Literally 24/7/365. To work, home, out and about, adventures. She was still a pup with a mischievous streak, ruined pretty much every pair of jeans I had (she'd sneak up and if she got 1 tooth into the Levis.. that was it. They were tearing before she let go up to about 6 months old when I started with a bite sleeve lmao) epic dog. ALOT of work. When people see "easy to train" it doesn't mean they train themselves. Have to put in endless hours daily. It's just easy in the aspect that they WANT to learn. My mal has never been crated and she's never on a leash. Doesn't matter what were doing. Public hikes, dogs all around. People. She won't even give them a second look

You're an amazing trainer. I know Belgies can be easy to train but you have a great easy style showing a great demo without anger or stress on the dog, a lot of people get frustrated and that leads nowhere except to a bad relationship and a scared or unpredictable dog. Excellent clip that applies to all animals you wish to train. This should be available to anyone homing animals, 👍

I don’t have my Mal yet, but have been trying to educate myself on the breed as much as possible before acquiring one. I had one years ago, but due to back to back surgeries that kept me off my feet for almost a full year, I had to give her up as she required EXTENSIVE work, and even working with a trainer wasn’t helping much I had gotten her from someone who took her EVERYWHERE, she was never alone, so she had separation anxiety off the charts. Anyway, I’m so glad MaligatorMom kept pushing your KZread as a must watch page, because just watching this one video so far was incredibly informative. I can’t wait to watch more.

My puppy is a female Malinois, German shepherd & husky mix, 7 months old. She is wonderfully smart & quite active. My puppy was gifted to me @ four months old, has learned the sit command, lay down command, stay command @ short distance & she loves to play catch in the air with her ball, beautiful leaping capability. I am happy to have found your video training sessions, will need guidance in proceeding with my puppy's training sessions. The turns you use and through your leg's exercises seem like good exercises for us & she must learn to heel with me. I subscribed to your channel after watching how you handle this Malinois puppy. I appreciate the self-confident, enjoyable approach you have while training. Thank-you!

Thanks so much for all the info!! I got a belgian malinois puppy for my birthday, and at first I thought..."omg, what have I gotten myself into🤦‍♀️"...this puppy is pure energy!! Lol but things r going great, he's learning new things , and (most of the time) listens to me, but he's still learning..and I've learned alot from your videos, so I'm very optimistic for the future.. I just have to be patient and always have things for him to do to keep his mind engaged..and thats one thing i learned from your videos(among other things)"Sampson" is becoming my new BFF and now goes with me everywhere. We live in rural Georgia, so im planning to build him an obstacle course of sorts in the spring, and i think that will also help. Thankyou Robert!!

I took a huge chance adopting this guy, but I trusted the trainer completely and was told together we would be great. She was right, however I do have a rock solid Labrador the same age who has taught my Mali mix how calm and stress free he is. Subbed! I've got a 7 weeks old pup Nora, who's the daughter of my 2 other dogs. A CSW (mom) and a Tervuren Shepherd x Carpatian Wolf (dad). She reminds me a lot of maligator pups. Can't wait to show her the ropes, literally

I choice a Belgian beige Tervuren at 16 weeks, after the initial interest from someone else fell through. When I went to see him he was running loose. Looked extremely nervous, running away from me and looked like a scared baby fox! I knew he needed lots of work. He has improved in confidence is extremely intelligent, quick to learn but I still find it hard to fully engage him. I really think he’s missed out on a vital stage of shaping behaviors.
