Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Shelter puppies are just like any other puppy. They need training and structure. In this video I'll run you though everything to teach a new puppy. The puppy in this video is about 9-10 weeks old and is totally green.
This puppy learned all the basics during the course of this 10+ minute video - the longer / full version is available on my member's only website

Curious as to why you say to not train a Down from a Sit. Thank you.

I've watched a lot of puppy training videos this past week since I just got a 3 month old GSD. This dude is hands down the best content creator. He actually shows novice people like me the steps in how to do it and not just generalization of giving him treats. I appreciate what you do Robert.

Great to hear!
As a pet dog trainer myself, I have to say that this is one of the best videos I have ever seen on dog training. Everything you said makes perfect sense. Plus, the puppy is adorable and is clearly happy and super motivated! ☺️ I really enjoyed watching you work with him 🤸♂️❤️

GREAT VIDEO, you should get the KZreadr of the year on dog training! Thank you!
Keeping a long leash on a puppy is the greatest useful advice I’ve ever had. So much easier. Thx.
I stumbled upon your videos after Joe Robinet shouted you out in one of his and it couldn’t have come at a better time. I had been planning on getting a German Shepherd puppy for a while now and I’ve been watching your videos in preparation. I gotta tell you, watching your videos just gets me more and more excited to start working with my new pup. I am confident that by employing your training techniques, my GSD will grow to be a well trained dog, and better yet, an amazing companion. I’ll be documenting his progression for a year and would love to share it with you! Thank you for the amazing videos Robert!

Would love to see that.
When I compare your commentary to instruction- it’s so much better than most KZreadrs who just talk talk talk with little example and rarely live examples. Great job!!
That is such a great point: Hand feed the dog when you 1st introduce yourself.
This is the best instruction I've ever heard for how to keep my dogs with me. They are old now (16 and 10) but we still implement new training increasing their mental stimulation. Thank you Robert. We love your channel!
When I get a puppy, I am going to become a member and train him/her using your lessons. Just the free training videos here are great, can't imagine the wealth of information I can gain from your member only lessons. Keep up the work. Thank you
@7:30 Crate training begins. I’m so glad I found this trainer. Couldn’t have came at a better time with my Bullmastiff pup coming home in 3days! Very informative and great techniques. Thankyou!!

Great work Rob, continue providing these awesome lessons
I just got a GSD pup 2 weeks ago and this will be my 5th dog that I train. He's the second one I started training from 8 weeks of age, and the first I've ever used treats along with praise for reward. I'm really digging your techniques and explanation of why. My father was a K9 officer in the late 60's and most of my training used his teachings and he was against treats but I am seeing a positive in their use and can see how to transition out into tug toys and bumpers along with praise. Thanks for your efforts in putting this quality info and content out there for everyone. "All dogs need training, a well trained dog is a happy dog and a happy owner." -Dad
Thank you for the great training tips
I am so glad I found you! I really want my puppy to be well trained!
Great trainer, love the way you break things down. Clear instructions good one!
Fantastic video, thank you! So well explained
I'm loving these techniques. I want to train one using these methods.
Love this video! Very helpful! Thank you!
I love dogs but I'm not a dog owner yet. I love watching your videos because I've been learning a lot the past couple of months. You're showing me many mistakes I would've made! Thank you for everything you do on this channel.
Oh gosh, I'm so in love with this lesson.
Robert really does put out the best training videos! Thank you!
Lovely video. The video sequence is very good. Gives a good idea of how to start with a puppy. Specific videos on specific commands gave me information but this one gave me the right perspective
Although I've done much of the exact same training, I have never been able to articulate so well. Excellent video. Thank you.
Thank you very much Robert.
This is a GREAT tool to have for new puppy owners!!! I have a friend that just got a new puppy and wants to start training. We live too far apart for me to help him, so I remembered watching this video and finally found it again. I am going to send this to him, and would recommend to anybody that is learning to train a puppy to watch this and to continue, if you've never trained or had a dog before!! Nothing worse for a dog than having an owner that doesn't know what they are doing. In my honest opinion, I feel that new puppy owners should be REQUIRED to take some kind of training classes, or spend a certain amount of time with an actual dog trainer and dogs. But that's just me. Again, great video and to anybody that is a new dog owner or never had a dog.... Please learn as much as you can about the breed of your dog, so you'll know their temperament, learning abilities, and if that is the type of dog that you are ready for, or can handle. Dog breeds are so different and knowing as much as you can will only help you and your 🐶 in the long run. A trained dog has structure, and a structured 🐕 is a happy dog!
Thank you so much!!!! I just got a 12 week old gsd. I am so glad I stumbled across your channel, thank you!!!

I saw all the other trainers video but ,After ceaser milan i think your the best..........
I love the way you train the puppy 👌👌
I’m adopting my first bulldog puppy and I want to avoid my mistakes in training, communicating, and consistency. I was raised on a ranch, so I have a very different upbringing with the “working” dogs. Watched this video and signed up for my first month on your website. Watched the first intro video and I’m excited because for the first time I feel like I have a clear understanding of the JOURNEY that I’m about to endeavor with my companion. Thank you Robert! MJ (Mary Jane) will be here this week and I’ve never been more excited and conscientious about a new journey!
Important aspects! Great video
Amazing training sir

Wow.this is one of the best videos i have seen from you...just such simple techniques...every puppy owner should watch this because even people with no prior experience should be able to understand how this works and be able to achieve it 👍👍

THIS is what we needed to know. Simple, common sense and effective. Awesome vids! Thank you!! And Robert, I just signed up on your Members Only section. I think you are the most no-nonsense but compassionate trainer I have ever seen on youtube. Your examples, I can follow. I see so much love and patience in your vids and that is what I was looking for. Thanks again!
Perfect timing! I'm working with a 14 week old German Short Haired Pointer right now. He's out of his mind! I have a boxer and I thought she was nuts as a puppy. This information will be invaluable. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
You are great teacher and trainer,I really liked it when you said use long leash to control the puppy to avoid puppy think you are playing with him when he goes away.
