@@batuhan4002 nope 2.2 best 0-60 time perfect conditions with Toyo R888s normally 2.4 sec 0-60 with stock ones

It looks like the best McLaren yet because it's simple and evolving as time goes but the rear looks boring it needs a chassis mounted giant wing and if u don't like cars with giant wings u should buy 2 arturas slap a wing on one n not the other

You have to remember a 720S is $300,000 base msrp and this car is $230,000, and the 720S was an absolute legend for its performance at its price point, this isn’t the next 720, it’s the next 570 or 650 so being this fast is pretty damn good

I drove the Artura a few months back (that blue one in the background), and my initial impression was that it didn't feel much faster in the top-end than my 570S, although low-end you really felt the difference thanks to the electric assist. BUT (!), seeing those numbers, that trap-speed would be about 5MPH better than what the 570S does. That's a huge difference.

That’s an awesome set up with turbo between the heads. Turbo upgrades will be a piece of cake to swap out, when it’s upgrade time.

This car is a preview for what the Corvette C8 ERay will offer. This hybrid setup is actually a great way to get performance and efficiency.

Guarantee the E-Ray won’t be anywhere even close to this quick considering Z06 is 3,700lbs I would expect E-Ray will be 3,900lbs with about 600HP (est)

@@jameswillard1 it may not equal this car’s performance for the reasons you stated. However, it will have a similar setup. It will just be a heavier car due to the larger displacement Naturally Aspirated V8 engine as opposed to this smaller turbocharged engine.

@Andrew Kay yes, they will put the battery in what would be the transmission tunnel for a front engine car. They will probably put the motor where the Frunk is. However, it is possible that they use an axial-flux motor like this car does and then the motor would fit in with the engine.

They have already stated Eray will be faster 1/4 mile, but slower on a track.

Great to see you on a road course. Since that's what all these cars are built to do it would be great to see you get into going to road courses and doing some lap time comparisons with pro drivers times. I'm sure you really liked it so go for it.

Great content! Enjoyed the track time. But I didn't like the sound of the engine. Trying to enhance the sound of a 6 is generally funky. Otherwise,, not bad.

I always love on the intro when you fly by the Hellcat looking over like "gotcha"

@Thomas Ferraro Jr. let me preface this by saying I love the nsx, I've driven all the generations (90s-2020s) phenomenal cars, I am working to get one... now the artura fixes the buggy headlights and silly "smile" it 570s had, and it keeps some of the aggressive 600lt front. The sleek back end is elegant and to me there's beauty in that simplicity. I also think the GT is a beautiful car and it isn't that far off on design.

McLaren is superior to all of those. Porsche might get better track time on nurburgring or mirror the McLaren time but McLaren oversteer is always easier to control than Porsche oversteer so McLaren is more consistent in handling

The only reason Lamborghini svj sto or Porsche gt3 rs exist is to try to close the gap to superior McLaren performance and they'll never get it to be as good as McLaren because McLaren is built by scientists and outsmarted the competitors with their designs

Everyone seen millions of Porsches a million times each car has same headlight design to where it gets boring to look at but this McLaren looks totally new

the 120 degree v almost sounds like a hybrid between a flat six and regular 60 or 90 deg v6

Another great video guys, including the track too! Brooks I just don't get McLaren some times, as I see them as bent on performance and engineering, but the Artura is a step back as it weighs more and has less power? Isn't this a tough sell to their customers?

Trap speed much higher then the Z06... so the Z06 must have more on the lower end. Not sure what the 60-130 is on the new Z06

@@nighthawk0077 z06 went 10.5 with a lower trap speed. Artura will probably go 10.2s on a track with good tires. Pretty impressive. Pretty good weight advantage too for the artura.. I think the z06 came in over 3600 and this was like 3300?

It sounds like the v6 thats in the jag xj 220 which was designed by mclaren aswell...

I have to disagree on one thing. I had a 720 and the V8 without an aftermarket exhaust sounded like a vacuum cleaner. This isn’t amazing but IMO it sounded better at least when I test drove it. I ultimately went with the 296 instead and I think Ferrari nailed the sound there.

The target for this car was a comfortable daily driver McLaren. Comfort for daily driving would be the first thing to evaluate.

Is not the same car, can’t really compare them and is very hard to get a 296 allocation btw.

Compared to the 296GTB, this car loses in every performance way as well as looks and sound. However, since it costs less, it's a good competition for an F8, 992 911 Turbo S and such.

@danycesc3272 the 296GTB is a standard car it's not the track special or limited edition. You might have to wait time wise for a car to be built but no restrictions on ordering.

Underwhelmed. Looks and drives like every other McLaren. Great video as usual.

Why does it take two years for supercar brands to release their cars into dealerships after announcing them? I feel like it hurts them. Look at the Maserati MC20. It took more than two years to hit dealerships and now, no one is buying them.

Got a 570s back when they dropped 7 years ago which turned 10.5 @ 131 mph. The Artura is running the same ET with 8 mph higher trap. Not really progress in my opinion with an extra 100 hp, more weight, slower lap times and same ET in the QTR. They have made tons of progress on the inside / display screens functionality though....
