We recently completed the first taxi test run on the DarkAero 1 prototype aircraft! Prior to the test, there were several preliminary tests that were completed including the first and second static engine test runs. These tests helped us verify that there were no outstanding installation issues with the engine and that all our engine monitoring data was properly functioning. This gave us enough confidence to proceed forward with the first taxi test for the aircraft! It was always meant to be just a machine, but it's starting to feel like something more...

I highly recommend that you brothers get some other eyes on these days of testing and readying the DarkAero for flight. The more you become familiar with something the less likely you are to see things that others see with ease. Thanks for sharing your project, what a feat of planning, engineering and assembly!

Agreed! This is good advice. We are bringing in a professional test pilot to support flight testing. More to report on that soon. :)

@@lawrencemanning yes, he is very methodical and recognized the raptor was not ready to fly. Not sure what he charges but it might be worth the cost just from a marketing perspective. I'm sure he would post stuff on his channel too bringing more awareness to this awesome Dark Aero project. These young men are doing a fantastic job, can't wait to see this thing fly!
I am truly impressed by the fact that three brothers have been working together on a common dream and still get along! Your parents should be proud of the young men they've produced. Congratulations to all.

@@RobertHouston-sf5fh I gave my middle brother a couple of broken collarbones (accidentally, of course) and saved my baby brother from a few blackeyes from my aforementioned middle brother. Being the oldest I was under "You're the oldest, so set the example!" general order. 😁
The powerplant to airframe ratio became real when the aircraft taxied past... it gave me goosebumps.
THANK YOU so much for releasing an online course! Being in the military, it was not possible to travel to you guys. I have been a long-time fan of your channel and you are a huge inspiration. I can't wait to start your course and hope to one day work in the composites industry. Thank you and keep up the great work!
I love when I see innovators, entrepreneurs, or just plain visionaries. Always working, improving and showing us that there is a lot of more room to grow. Keep pushing the envelope! I'm rooting for you, your team and mission!
One can only imagine the positive energy levels you guys must experience in these milestone events. Thank you for going to the effort of adding film production to your already overscheduled lives at this time, so we can be part of it too. Such extraordinary enterprise. As a dad, I do hope my kids can find something as engaging and positive to be a part of when their time comes to build careers. Cheers from Sydney - Dave
You provide just the amount of detail for regular folks interested in aircraft engineering to see and understand the process of making a plane from an idea to finished product.
BIG congrats guys!!! Huge milestone!!!
Such a thrill to watch it moves by itself for the first time! Can't wait to see next tests!
Outstanding progress. I'm always amazed at how neat and tidy your operation is, despite working with messy materials. Your professionalism is equal to that of the finest aircraft manufacturers. That will help you in the kit market. I would have confidence buying one of your kits even early in the production run.
Congratulations fellas! That's just super to see the progress.
Super excited to see all the DarkAero updates. Thanks!
Congrats guy looks amazing. It's been a fun process watching you on this journey..
Great stuff! Looking forward to seeing the journey you guys have ahead of you!!
Another huge milestone behind you, maintain the diligence on the details and first flight will be a monumental success!
So freaking excited for this Plane! Can't even imagine how excited you guys are! Well done!
Yes! One step closer to first flight! I can't wait! Excellent job!
I have enjoyed watching your progress over time, looking forward too more.
Great to see your project coming together. I have been watching a few of your videos on composites as that was my main interest.
I am so proud of you guys!
Simply amazing what you guys are accomplishing. Clear skies.
Good to see DarkAero coming together!
Very exciting guys! Looks and sounds so good!
It’s looking really good, well done guys.
What a great momentous occasion! That plane looks fast just taxiing! Sincere congratulations!
Lovely to see it coming together so well.

Well done guys, amazing milestone
Exciting stuff! Keep up the good work!
Stellar plane fun🤣🤣🤣Love spending time with you guys... Thank you for sharing the progression of the DarkAero project👍👍👍
Absolutely beautiful aircraft, incredible work
It's an amazing accomplishment, guys! That UL-520iS engine sounds great! (Of course, I'm biased, as I have one, too!) With your combined engineering knowledge and skills, I expect flight testing to go smoothly.
Fantastic sound from the flat 6 engine when idling!
This project is such a delight to watch because these three brothers are incredibly talented in their respective areas of expertise and they cooperate with each other to produce what clearly looks to be a winner...contrast this with the Raptor Project which was a disaster from the start......night and day, as they say!
Excellent stuff bro
Great job on both the build and the videos, guys! You are 3 very cool dudes that your parents must be very proud of.
CONGRATS GUYS
So happy for you guys! I can't wait to get to fly it :D
Nice work. Getting closer! Look forward to the next one :)
Awesome, well done guys. You've gone from having a thing to having a vehicle. Now to take it from vehicle to aeroplane!
Started nicely!
Great job, congratulations
Wow…wow. You’ve come a long way. I cannot wait to get mine!
That's one wicked looking aircraft!
Congrats on the successful test.
Dude ,,, you are the best ,,, keep going ✌️
Way to go guys. I am sohappy for everyone.
Congrats guys. I hope you are up there soon. It's been exciting watching your journey. What is your projected date for offering the actual product?
I am a huge fan of yours! I am currently pursuing mechanical engineering and did my internship, your content was very valuable for me to understand certain things, especially your video on composite vs metal difference with necessary example. With an avgeek myself and having a hunger to work on cutting edge stuff, I absolutely find your channel a gold mine. A Dream is to work under you guys someday (hopefully) even as an intern. You guys absolutely rock!!

Can't believe how quicky this has progressed! Anyone else a huge fan of how the forward-raked landing gear looks??
You never disappoint!
LOOKING GOOD
I can't wait to see how you "send it" after seeing how good that engine sounds at iddle/low rpms :D Keep the good work in your proyect guys, proud of follow it since the years.
Great work!
Congrats
Cant wait to get my hands on one of these. Can't wait to meet you guys sometime too.
Very cool to see you young guys making your dreams come true. I am looking forward to the maiden flight.
Thanks!
Boys.. you are getting close to the first flight.. You must be getting excited ! very much looking forward to seeing it !!
looking good.
A fan. Great work and waiting for the flight test.
I like the way on tight turns it appears to rotate around its nav lights.
It looks very fast and keen moving around in the wild!
good job guys!
It's like I built this masterpiece. All the best DARKAERO guys. Salute.
Great “Force x Distance” persistence. 👍 Looks excellent. Can’t wait to see her fly.
So happy to see you guys progressing. I still can’t get over just how sleek the aircraft looks
its looks so beautiful
This is beautiful from CAD drawings on Onshape to an aircraft on testing stages.
You should be very proud of all the results. Let this dream be very successful.
Looking good
What a freakin beauty. Looks like a supercar 😍
Good job 👍
Big congrats to you guys. Can we look forward to a first flight in the first half of next year?
Beringer brakes !! I am an happy French 😁😂
Absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to see the bird reach for the sky!
I agree so I won't say it. I will say the aircraft is gorgeous. Congratulations!
You guys rock.
Congratulations on your successful taxi test.
Really hope you paint it black! Looks amazing right now!
Hey guys, awesome to see it rolling!!! Question though… where is the beacon?!
Outstanding guys! Kids will be out of the house in a few years and this is on the short list for a cross country 2-seater.
In an era when giving up is easy, it is awesome to see people still reaching to the heavens!!!
It's helpful to look over a running engine in the dark from time to time. It becomes easy to see corona or sparking, which indicate maintenance issues such as failing ignition harness insulation or loose connections.
Aww shit, getting close now. This has been a pretty cool project. Been watching on and off since the beginning waiting eagerly to see this thing fly.
Moving under her own power is a huge milestone. Congratulations, gentlemen.
It's been awesome to watch this aircraft go from a bare fuselage to a taxiing aircraft. Can't wait to see the maiden flight.🤙
These guys don’t do anything half-ass ! They have approached this whole project with superlative attention to detail and sound engineering principles. I’m eagerly awaiting to see results of the flight testing.
Great work. Who will make the first flight and if it’s one of you guys what have you done to prepare?
You have done a fantastic job. Can't wait to see this thing fly. So much better than the Raptor development.
I CAN'T WAIT to see this airplane fly and see the results of the flight test regime. I really hope to be able to afford this aircraft eventually. I'm really enthusiastic about the ULPower engine and the electric prop.
