If you want a sturdy hose that doesn't kink but don't need it transparent, you can just use air pressure hoses.

Interesting! I've heard about drinking water hoses meant for RVs and campers, but never air pressure hoses... good to know

I use cheap black yoga mats cut to size on each shelf of my shrimp rack so that each tank is self levelling. It depends on what finish you want on each shelf though too. I like the look of the black but ymmv of course. If you need to save water, you could drain out the window in the room (assuming that leads outside). I live in Australia so a Python where you need to keep running the water to drain tanks is anathema here.

Thanks for the reco! I always thought yoga mats were too thick but it's something I'll consider definitely

    @@Pharmaquatics I use 5mm / 0.2-inch thickness yoga mats from Kmart.

Being a woodworker. . . I usually only recommend pre-stain conditioner if you absolutely want a more even coat or look for softer woods. ie Pine or Poplar. Just because pre-stain conditioner does tend to really cause the wood not to take stain as well/get as dark or rich of a color. The pre-stain wasn't necessary to use on the butcher block because - if I recall correctly - butcher block tends to be made of Birch which is a hardwood. I hope this information can help in future projects you might have and help save you the cost of materials you might not need. Such as pre-stain or having to do 3-4 coats of stain.

All good stuff but one thing if I can say if you put a small pump on your hose when draining you don't need your water faucet on at all on any level of your tanks. Just a suggestion. Looks great. Thanks for sharing

Great point! That’s actually what those hygger pumps that I unboxed are for 😏 Great minds think alike!

Do you still use the trick with the filter sponge so you don’t disturb sand or substrate like in a very old video you posted before? If so How would you do that with the python one?

I'm planning on getting a 10 gallon tank for a male betta and a couple nerite snails also planning on putting all live plants in there would I be able to put any other fish with the betta?

  • @BlandBanana

It really depends on the betta’s personality. You also have to be sure not to overstock your aquarium.

  • @Pharmaquatics

Agree with BlandBanana, 10 gallon is a good size, but you'll want to consider how often want to do water changes depending on how much you stock it with. Some bettas are absolutely vicious, while others are pretty passive
