MDC12 I don't think so. I saw the fight as a draw. Even after watching it again. If people see ggg winning by a slight margin, I get that too. Boxing is not just about who is the aggressor, but defense and counter. Canelo I thought was the heavier, and stronger puncher, while ggg landed more. Ggg's punches did nothing to canelo though. Watch it again. Canelos punches would have more umph.

Wow!!! The fight of the century!! These two fighters are amazing! Canelo and Triple G are the current pound for pound champs of our time. They are going down as legends. What a beautiful fight. Those where strong powerful punches they where taking.

I like how all you emotional little nerds are criticizing Max when he clearly states "I had GGG winning"... See, the thing about Max is he understands that different people look for different things when watching boxing. So he understands that score cards will vary, especially watching the fight live, in stadium. Unlike you whiny know-it-alls that thinks your perspective on a fight is the only perspective anyone is allowed to have, he knows you have to find a range of possible scores (e.g. between 8-4 and 6-6). But fanboys will always whine.

It was an amazing fight that truly lived up to the hype, but it is overshadowed by a bad card. I think a close draw would be a fair card, but 118-110 is brutal.

Newsflash * Triple G is a light heavyweight fighting smaller guys* I don't think boxing fans of today know anything about boxing canelo had him confused and he complained about canelo moving like he's suppose to just sit there and be hit ... boxing is hit and don't get hit !!!

2017 has been the best year of boxing since...the 90's heavyweights division (can't pick out any one specific year)

Max is right. The scorecard was outrageous, but even if she had it 116-116 it would have been a draw. I've rewatched the fight and I had it a draw, but I could even see canelo winning by a round. He was landing cleaner harder punches and making GGG miss a lot. & canelo wasn't running. You guys don't remember him staying on the ropes wanting GGG to attack and Ggg being too timid to? Or when canelo was caught on the ropes and escaped but then ran right back to the ropes trying to get GGG to engage. You guys need to watch the fight again. There's no way GGG washed canelo. A draw isn't outrsgoues. & please no canelo fans comment saying you thought ggg won too I really don't care who won this fight i like both of them

The problem is she scores it 118 to 110 which is blatant corruption. 115 113 for Canelo would have been a safer call by that judge... But when you say 118 110!!!!!!????? Your basically saying yeah Canelo fan bias in full force. This fight should have ended in split or majority decision for GGG. The 114 114 card I understand, that was quite fair to be honest... Mainly because though i feel Canelo ran, it was effective running that mitigated GGG's right hand causing him to lack effective aggression. So therefore 114 114 was a good card, cant blame that judge. A draw at 116 112 or 115 113 for Canelo would have been ok, because she can argue that.. but 118 110!? Shiiit get outta here.

As ive said in other posts it was strategy and it was effective.. so thats a compliment to Canelo from me because he neutralized GGGs right hand and mitigated his power shots by doing so. The part where "he ran" comes off as a negative is that Canelo was not expected to fight like mayweather, but rather as a mexican stylist EVEN MORE SO than the non mexican blooded GGG. Canelo has lost many mexican fans after this fight and thats not opinion, thats what everyone at work actually tells me... "He ran" in the eyes of those who loved him, cheered him on. Me I personally think he ran out of necessary strategy.. had he stood still and banged it out I feel he couldve done great, probably even got the KO, but he didnt.... And that let alot of fans down.

Canelo is a slick boxer puncher, he's not going to fight "Mexican style" versus someone who punches harder than him. Why would he? So he could get ktfo and you guys can say "Canelo got heart though, he got knocked tf but he stood there like a man" The fans can't dictate how a boxer should fight, the fighter has to find the best way to win. It's his ass on the line not the fans... His strategy was good he just ran out of gas and couldn't keep up the pace he had in the first rounds. He BOXED ggg almost easily until the middle rounds where he kind of faded. Speak for your self he didn't let me down, I thought he moved when he shouldve and banged with ggg when he should have. Wish he would've been in better shape though. Canelo 7-5

I just want to say this and I like both guys. To all my great boxing fans out there, rewatch The Fight with the sound off and just watch it round by round. You guys will see, it was more closer to a draw. They were giving GGG credit for shots that he didn't land. If you watch it, a lot of times when they were in the corners Canelo either slip the punch by a very small margin or just hit him on the shoulders. But you got Jim Lampley screaming out" great right hand by Triple G", to shots that weren't even landing. Me and 3 of my good friends who I've been watching boxing with for over 20 years rewatch The Fight and we all thought it was a pretty close fight. A draw is a pretty fair judgement. Two of my three friends are all Triple G fans and they said it was a draw after we watching the fight.

Honestly, I gave Canelo the first 3 and last 2 rds (barely on the last 2, a bit more precision). So I gave it 7 rds to 5 for GGG.

It was a close fight that was no robbed the fight was great the boxers were great expect that one dumbass judge in my opinion it was a draw can't wait to see the rematch

GGG outlanded Canelo almost every round, so you're wrong.

Can't believe people having canelo winning when he would go on the offensive for 20-30 seconds and then go to ropes when GGG would go on the attack the rest of the round.

Both did exactly what they said. Canelo said he would let GGG come and GGG said he will pursue. But I think both didn't give their best anyway, fearing a knockout. Now that they know each other's power, the rematch must be epic.

I'm going to argue this one for a while. The notion that Triple G was robbed is almost as absurd as Byrd's scorecard. I had Canelo winning 7 rounds to 5, but can easily see it going to Triple G by that same margin given a point or two. But robbery? Come on now, if you think that then you're approaching Byrd like bias....

I'm fine with the draw because both did well even though I felt Canelo won. Scorecard be damned, it was a good fight. The rematch is gonna be ten times more hyped.

I had canelo winning 6 rounds to 3 with 1 draw. So I don't know why everyone is tripping. Canelo looked like the better fighter.

Here's the bottom line Max, If that judge who scored it 114- 114 had have seen what we all saw then GGG would have won the fight. Two judges got it wrong not just one.

I had the score in both fights different Canelo | GGG 1: 116-112 (GGG) Canelo | GGG 2: 114-114

Lot of really boring guys talking fix, it was a close fight I had canelo a lot of people edged towards ggg a draw is no robbery ...if your not happy go watch MMA it's about your knucklescrapping level. Id happily watch a rematch match.

Landing 4 less power punches and 50 more jabs while controlling the ring won GGG the fight. Canelo throwing a few combos for 30 seconds a round then backing away constantly is no justification for him winning and certainly not for him outboxing GGG. If anything GGG put on a boxing clinic on how to hunt down and connect on your opponent all night long.

paulohh2 : How did GGG "control the ring" when he was never able to cut the ring off on Canelo, and therefore couldn't land a significant or devastating right hand? It was embarrassing to watch GGG's slow ass chase awkwardly after Canelo and even tangling his feet up a few times to the point where he could have tripped over his own two left feet. Canelo toyed with the simple, one-dimensional Slav the whole fight. And if Canelo "ran" the entire fight, why did GGG's stereotypical, and caricature like, Slavic facial features look like a bowl hammered of shit after the fight, whilst Canelo still looked prettier than Connor Mac Gregor's porn star girlfriend?

paulohh2 he landed 50 more power punches throwing 200 more punches lol he was missing majority of that shit. Canelo was way more effective with his punches. Ggg was just throwing alot of blows.

All people saying the fight was a draw have Canelo winning the first 3 rounds AND the last 3 rounds. Canelo didn't win all of the first 3 OR all of the last 3. I scored the fight 8-4 for GGG, I could see possibly how someone MIGHT have it 7-5 for GGG also.

SoDedicated6 he looked the way he did against an elite fighter like Canelo. It was an impressive performance by the less popular fighter.

Max knows boxing so he knows what he is talking bout. Yall just mad because all of where talking all of this shit how GGG was going to put Canelo to sleep, and in the end he didnt do anything but throw jabs. Dont give me wrong, GGG is one hell of a fighter but he never got tested by a legit fighter. Both Canelo and GGG left with a clean face.

Omar eldessouqi His cardio has always been terrible. He has been able to tko the grappler types in the UFC quickly so he usually doesn't need cardio. Plus most of his wins are against midget Featherweights who can't handle his size

Omar eldessouqi But Eddie Alvarez is a bum. He was easily the weakest fighter in the top 10 who fluked his way to the belt with 2 split decisions. Just look at his UFC record. Not to mention Eddie is a midget and could easily cut to Featherweight. He's not a true LW. Nate doesn't have great boxing skills. He's a jiu jitsu stylist that has decent boxing. In any case, he's ranked what 7th? He's a career gatekeeper that has NEVER been able to hang with the elites at the top of either 155 or 170. Neither of those wins mean that much because they are against journeymen. His best win is against Aldo easily. Most of his wins are against tin cans

Yea it was a good fight apart from Byrds scorecard I didn't really have a problem with the result even though I had ggg winning by 2 rounds also,but a lot of rounds were close and hard to edge either way.It wasn't as good as the Joshua v Klitschko fight but up there in the top 5 fights of the year so far.

Canelo hit and hurt ggg. GGG’s so called knock out power was nowhere to be seen.

For all you Canelo fans in denial, you can't take a champions belt backpedaling and refusing to stand n fight punch for punch with the undisputed champ. Canelo skillfully boxed for a few rounds until he realized he bit off more than he could chew. After that he skillfully ran for a few more rounds, but that turned into an all out spring just running for his life for the second half of the fight after triple G landed some bombs to the dome. Canelo only punched when he had no choice in the second half of the fight to survive, but never gained any momentum. His best moment after winning a few early rounds was the combo he landed early in round 12 after not punching to save energy the second half of the fight and losing every one of those rounds by simply not fighting and backpedaling and he still lost that 12th round after saving all his energy to survive without getting knocked out. Canelo don't deserve a rematch just cuz he's golden boys top fighter. GGG needs to move on and let Canelo live with his cowardly performance and face the wrath of the fans who don't respect or appreciate the running he did when the fight was suppose to be a toe to toe battle.
