Thank you for your insight . I own a 959 as well as the 1299rFE . I track my 959 a lot 19 days this year. I am on my 6th year tracking bikes but last year was my first year riding a lot on a track. I want to hone in the 959 for another couple of seasons and then get a 1199r. The next step in developing my skills is to do the suspension , rims and exhaust. Which if you add it all up come to 11-12k. At that point you trade in your 959 and get a 1199r for the same price. They both have to race in the same category. May as well have he extra 21lbs feet of torque and 50 hp.

i just got the same bike it's the best but to have the comfort set it's much better and the r is not the top of the line cuz u got the superleggera

@iamflukenuttapon5935 The real monster is the 2015 1299s. Gobs of H.P. and torque in insane amounts everywhere in the rev range at any speed.

Well I have a ktm rc8 that I try not to used it so much lol I also have an rsv4 that I would trade in for the 2013 1199 r.. thanks for the reply

oh well in that case sure 1199R is a great 2nd bike....it is very rough and race oriented that is why I advice it as a 2nd bike..unless you like punishment haha

I've vote for the ducati. I've got a 2013 1199r. No regrets with 11 thousand miles.

What is your opinion on buying a clean used Ducati 1199R? My last bike was a 2011 GSXR1000. I really want to try something different.

Well that really depends on your comfort threshold....its really an uncomfortable bike to ride on the streets..it wants to only go fast....so depends on your type of usage....the engine is not as smooth as the GSXR1000 you have...its torquey so if you can tolerate it and if you're really loving ducati's its the only reason I can recommend the 1199R to somebody. I have since switched back to the S1000RR.

Do you still drive the R? Update?
