Good to see them doing well in world superbikes. Neeves is right, who cares about lap times, its a wonderful bike to ride and to look at and to listen to!
Good work neeves, your reports are excellent. Entertaining informative, and no talking bollocks. Love it.
It looks so good! It should be in an museum of awesomeness
Neevesy should do all MCN videos.
Love this bike!!!!
Valentino Rossi promo at the beginning of a Ducati video...MCN is getting cheeky! lOl
Must such a chore for Mr Neeves to get out of bed and go to work. Good video, stunning bike!!!
Rossi opening for Ducati spread! Love it.
Panigale looks well, it has a beautiful design and a lot of new features, it's a real supersport one, but where is it on the world championship sbk? it seems that the external look doesn't goes with a such beautiful internal function.
They have already tested the HP4, Aprilia factory, Panigale R and MV Agusta all 2013 models and the lap times were Aprilia HP4 Panigale R MV. Motociclismo is my source of reference.
Gyro mount or the GoPro? Awesome! How'd you do that?
Exactly why so many Ducati riders prefer to keep their bikes in the garage, polishing them all day.
If I am buying a new bike I will buy a bike that looks great and makes me happy when I prepare going for a ride. The ducati looks and sounds great. It is quite expensive though (you could buy 2 Ninja ZX10). Who cares if there was a overall quicker bike if you were a motogp racer? I enjoy riding and with regards of the speed limits on country roads and the road conditions any bike will be sufficient to have fun (i ride a 2012 ninja 650/er6f).
I couldn't give a s*** - the Panigale is just so much more characterful and beautiful. The BMW might be technically superior but the Panigale has soul - and that's worth thousands.
Lovely :)
Mr. Neeves is a closet Ducatista. What a gorgeous bike, maybe someday I'll trade up.
S1000RR definitely has a killer motor, but I wouldn't really put it in the "attractive" category. "Ze Beemer" isn't exactly killing it in the looks department. The tail is nice, but god damn if it doesn't have the ugliest asymmetrical front end. Between the two, I still prefer my Panigale for the looks, the sound, and the killer electronics. The bike is a blast, and I would say that is the most important part of a bike; how much fun you have riding it. :)
They've actually had that intro for several of their vids now.
'12 S model is ferocious. So a few Kilos less and a few Revs more just seems criminal! :)
I think that is the point.
Yes, but who wants a bike that may be a second quicker on the track but looks and sounds downright ordinary in the high school parking lot? What really matters to you?
yer I've been thinking about what i said, and i completely regret it and i completely agree with you, its defiantly not all about speed, that's why there are such things as harley's. the ducati is the best looking bike at the moment.
How did they filmed this 2:15 that the camera stays horizontal? Video editted it?
the engine is running with 51mm inlets where the stock has 61mm... so it's running with a sock down it s throat.. WSBK therefore has only 10 bhp moren than stock... that sock was put there to compensate for being too strong...
I when to look at one the other day at seastarsuperbikes in Norfolk the other week, and fuck me that is the best looking bike I've ever seen. But I just could justify spending 26,000 on one.
Agree..I've seen more dudes on the track on their so called beat up 2000 cbr600 beat a dude on more expensive bike-but never even came close to knowing how to ride a track
The best bike from Ducati....ever! just awsome That's why Ducati won 15 SBK championships in his hand, doesn't it?
yo you got to love your bike no matter how cheap it is bro....
michael neeves, what was the top speed at that 1200 meters straight?
It hasnt been doing too well in wsbk
Titanium certainly isn't more durable, it's a very soft metal. Light, and strong. . . but it's more liable to bend than forged steel. The only benefit is just low light it is, meaning you can rev better.
Yes, welcome to racing where the rider at most is given a two year contract. I would always have my door open to offers to stay in the sport. Even though he was looking he ended up back with Ducati, don't forget.
What michael said at 3:30 about the bike weaving whilst accelerating -isn't that what the adjustable swingarm pivot is for? So, in a nutshell, this doesn't work?

No it’s different a steering damper would reduce this
he is right..
it is a 1198 cc L- Twin
Em Eff. Only kids care what's got the top speed on paper. It's about the experience and the ability of the rider.
it has ...
wide?! have you ever been on one? it's incredibly thin compared to many other bikes!
I heard this at first as well...think it was "shed loads" :p
and because its the most pricy edition it should have come with full termignoni system on it.
if i win euromillions now friday the 26 of april i will buy Michael Neeves a panigale 1199R ( chance will be very very small but it would be lots of fun when it does happen :-)
yep but then it's no use referring to racing to say it is a no good bike..
Trying to be diplomatic and not offending Ducati having taken the air fare and the free ride junket. Bottom line the Ducati was beaten by the RR the RSV, the Blade and the CBR in most tests despite having top shelf componants. It looks killer and will look nice down at the cafe whilst having a latte, but surely sportsbikes are about being the fastest around the track, to say otherwise is is a bit of a joke.
It's not about the bike, it's more about the rider. If you don't have the man parts to use the bike to its fullest, then its personal preference.
I think you should do vids on bikes for the un experianced rider like lads passing there tests and wanting bigger bikes. I volunteer.
Lap times are meaningful for advance trackday riders or racers..so that's important. A normal rich guy who never had a heart for motorsport will never bring his bike to the track nor cared about how it performs, he only needs to read the brochure to brag..idk but the BMW looks like an R6 had sex with a frog. Now, whether which bike is far more superior, that depends on the rider. Of course, the powerband btwn a twin and an inline 4 is complete different points to argue.
non of the topnotch bikes are inferior.. they are ever so close to each other.. and caplable of far more than only gods can do with them. will be interesting to see it tested tgether with the Aprilia factory and Beemer HP4 which are stunning bikes ..
👍👌
Ha ha.. so far so good didn't he? ha ha ha ha....
Rossi introducing a Ducati review...
no rossi does
please tell me neeves just just said "sold shitloads"
There is something to be said for having a very fast "showoff" bike.
I'm confused now.
well look at Checa now..
chill out people this bike is for the rich who don't have a problem with that cash. i would love one too, you just can't get that awesome growl like the Italian bikes (RSV4, Panigale) i love my Japanese but to be honest i get tired of hearing that screaming sound (i dont own a car so yeah i ride daily)
Well, you'll gonna have to do some homework, as you don't seem to understand the way of the mechanical engineering. 1200cc L Twin agains 1000 V4 and yes, then can compete. As i said, Checa was and still is injured, but still finished 7-th in first and 8-th in second race. cheers

No one is making you buy one mate. Chill.
Better to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. No point getting this for the roads
"they need someone else who will be able to ride the beast" you see, thats the problem.. a bike so hard to ride only a few people in the WORLD can ride it fast. but, alas, that is a motogp bike and it is far from the panigale.

Wrong! Neevesy, MCN.
Id rather get a zx10r then spend the other £10,000 on performance mods.
I really care about lap times.....
unfortuately ducati is at a internal struggle with this 11999.........deep inside corp...... their hiding from a marketing disaster..2013-14 will be damage control from humility of this nightmare. til they move onto better days..... I don't care how much money Audi has...it takes some very special engineers with a better vision of chasis dynamics....of how it all relates to front and rear wheel axis and contact points...... this has not been a issue in the past because the level of hp in 2013
something i don't understand : why buy an R if you don't care about laptimes? it's the only judge of performance. i 'm a 'fanboy' but care for this stuf. Now : slow steering? even last year, the pani was the quickest sterring bike out there ( is not best handling!) now, allowing Checa to go faster , of course he does? Every titanium engine bit does. On all engines. so it's slow handling and weavy and then raves about it... bizar..
A very poorly researched review. Neeves says in the opening the V4R has lots of carbon fibre components. It does not, other than the carbon front fender It has the same plastic bodywork as the V4/S. The other carbon fiber bitson biis on ther bike are Ducati accessory carbon components that were added on and do not come with the bike. And the 998cc V4R is not "the same engine" as the 1100cc V4/S and DOES NOT Make the same horsepower. The V4R has a hotter camshaft and makes 220hp with the stock street exhaust compared to the larger displacemetn V4/S with less power at 210hp, but more lower end torque to make up for big low-end torque loss from the previous generation 1199cc V2R. With the Akrapovic Titanium Race Exhaust installed the V4R make 234hp and it has a totally different, peakier higher RPM powerband. No mention that the V4R has a Dry Clutch compared to t V4/S Wet Clutch. The bike Neeves rides around the track with the video camera is a V4S with electronic suspeniosn, not the V4R with mechanical suspension.
Yannick, have you actually ridden a Panigale? I doubt it.
With vehicles it's a lot about how they make you feel, which I find it lacks in these reviews. (all of them) But that differs from person to person. If a ducati will give you that extra orgasm at the end of the day, then that's that.
Vale hate ducati!
First to kick your ass !
3:08 - 3:32 ÁÁÁÁÁ
I love that completely useless upside down rear camera....
yes hp4 would wipe the floor with this!!!
Mike Loves his Ducati's.. I do too, however, .. and this is a BIG however.. I'd bet a weeks pay the EBR 1190RS will blow the doors off the Panigale. Hey Mike ..wanna take some wagers ?
And the butt cam? That's pretty damn useless too...
Rossi's a loon, but hes so good, what the gell!

COR-SE (SE like in "SEX")
dude, are you wearing makeup on your eye lashes?
let it be clear to all : if you have 19K to spend and want to go fast, the choice is simple : HP4.
Squids and posers, don't know how to handle a bike as it was built for, and of course, wrecking for showing off will never understand why a pani, rsv4, are more expensive than gixxers, busas...highway heroes, as i call them every time I see them riding with armors outside their t-shirts, shorts, tennis shoes...around Dallas area.
Such a waste :(
Did you guys tell Valentino Rossi that you'll be using his intro to review a Ducati? Because if you didn't, that' kind of a dick move.
FYI I've got a Monster 1100evo and 848evo Corse in my garage... I wouldn't pay that amount of money for bike that is anyway technically inferior to a BMW S1000RR HP4... (Being on a circuit (the main purpose of the Panigale), the only thing you're looking at is... efficiency to get the best laps)... this is just a showoff bike nothing else... Any doubt about what I've just said... just watch the World Superbike... self-explanatory!!!
And next year there will be another version of the 'same' bike... pathetic...
But the BMW s1000rr is faster and cheaper.
Don't care about lap times? For a bike that's twice the price of some of it's rivals, I'd want a guarantee that it was the quickest, even if I could never achieve the times. Just some bullshit Ducati spin to hide the fact the BMW is far superior, if not as attractive.
just too much money for a bike that is still more expensive AND slower than a S1000RR... So why spend all that money? It's contradictory... The R model is all about racing and going that extra bit faster, and in the end he says "who cares about laptimes anyway"... then why not just buy a standard panigale and throw some carbon on it...
