Ducati 1199 Panigale R
Ducati's new 1199 Panigale R was released to the international press at the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas and MotoGeo's Jamie Robinson was there to test it.
Ridden to the limit around one of the world's most technical and demanding racetracks, it was the perfect place to discover all about the Italian bullet. Now lighter and ready to go with all the fittings for the racetrack, the Panigale R breaks new ground for consumers and here MotoGeo brings you the lowdown on what it is like to ride the worlds fastest and most exotic Superbike.

Any engine heat issues? I've heard people complain about it with the 1199. Good review. Like the superimposed number/text on the screen. Keep the vids coming!! Do one on the Duc 848...

That was not a review, it was advertising, I can read about the specs on the website, tell us how it feels and how it compares to other bikes and especially is it worth the upgrade from a normal Panigale.

The shocks need to be serviced after 10 hours of riding. To access the desmo valves you have to disassemble the entire bike since the engine is the frame. You drop it once and the repair costs will be over $5,000. This bike is expensive and quit thinking it's a cheap Nissan 370Z.

I have never seen a Ducati of any kind close up until I went to a big city to purchase my Zuma 50 moped new. THe dealer had about 12 big ducatis including to red 1199 panigals. All the other bikes in the store had price tags but no tags on the Ducatis. I guess if you have to ask, you cannot afford one. The 1199's did have a price tag and I looked at the bikes while doing purchase paper work, Both bikes were a cool $29,950.00. That is for ONE not both. Beautiful bikes though. DSD

The 08- 09 Honda CBR 1000 Has set faster laptimes on all the WSBK Superstock 1000 races, than the 2012 CBR 1000. Infact the 09 CBR has set almost exact record laptimes as the Panigale, and the HP4 and Hawasaki zx10 in 2013 in similar conditions in superstock trim. compare laptimes from 09 STK 1000 MAGNY COURS, PORTIMAO, BRNO. with those of 2012-13. Even though 2012 model is prettier it is also slower by 2.5 seconds a lap..

For everyone thinking you can't afford this bike. If you're a real biker, sell your car and save up for this bike. And then after you get the bike save up for a junk commuter car. That way you'll have a bike and a car both. That or go for higher education so you can work for a higher income. Either way this bike is not too expensive for anyone.

Except Ferrari produces an expensive car that vastly outperforms the cheaper alternatives. Ducati produces an expensive bike that's still in the ballpark of bikes with half the pricetag. Ducati is Apple.

MotoGP bikes have nothing incommon with road going superbikes. In WSB Ducati is very sucessfull, which is way to closer to the road-going models.

Max Chau Yes, anyone can win motogp. Honda wins because they wrote all the rules in their own favour, they rule Moto3 and Moto2 too. Japanese cannot win anything without cheating. If you must know, the Jappos chickened out of the Motogo back when MV Agusta dominated the sport. Japanese don't make bike, they make vacuum cleaners for wannabes.

Sam Rad Youre just as stupid. What about Kawasakis success in WSB and WSP? Lets just put this fangay shit aside and admire that almost every manufacturer puts out amazing machines nowadays. Racing machines have almost nothing in common with the street bikes we get to buy and even so 99% of all riders will never get to the true potential of their bikes anyways.
