Cherish that bike. It's pretty rare, most durable bike out there. And it's way faster than 30mph by the way. Put some special gear on it and you could get it to 60 mph easy. By far the best bike of its time and it's still my favorite bike next to my custom ktm

Prolyl wasn't the exact bike cause mine was made in 79 but yeah its a really good learner cause its so easy to shift

Nice bike.. I just picked up one at a swap meet for $150, I put in $200 in parts to bring it back to life. Road it 30 miles last weekend these bikes are a blast to ride..

I have a 1979 xl 75

I had one of these geared factory and it had been thrashed for many years as I was always fixing timing chains and stretching the tenshioner past its limit with the help of a file in the bolt slot hahaa and bodging up the shitty designed xl exhaust but yeh with a few of the xr parts on the xl and this bike was by far the best little bike in the day and still is in my eyes ,perfect for a learning on and just having fun....god I could tell some stories about mine but getting back to the top speed....never went past 62 km/hr which is a smidgen over 38 miles so I don't know what this kid is doing but I still envy his bike and wish I never sold mine

Nicole Herbert I think my top speed was 45 but that was on the road, but I have had a lot of fun on this bike it is by far the best bike for its size(engine wise). This one has been in my family since 1979 so it has been through a lot but I think I have by far done the most damage to it because my lack of common sense 😂. I also have many stories and adventures to tell about me and this bike. This bike is what got me through middle school and through all the bullying and things like that. Thanks for commenting
