FIRST RIDE AND IMPRESSION ON MY 2023 PANIGALE V4R

Finally!! I Finally got to ride the V4R. I ended up driving home 13 hours from work stuff to slam the trailer full of stuff and drive right to the track. SO this is a more chill I talk into the GoPro video. There will be time codes to tell you where I jump on front of the camera for a while and chat about the bike though!
Truly though this bike is an experience. It's amazing to ride such a special bike and and work it to its limits. And yes the difference is substantial to the V4 1103 motor.
Always guys I'll have a ton more stuff coming up with this bike soon so stay tuned and thanks for watching!!!

Thank you for using these beautiful machines as they’re intended. So sick of seeing ppl with V4s especially V4Rs and street ride them/ not take them to the track 😂.

Yeah for myself it’s really the only way to enjoy them because they were designed for the track. And I’m addicted to the track life 😂😂

I have #340 set up like yours and finally got to let it out a little at Barber last weekend. My impression matches yours. HOLY COW. Lifted the front in 4 gears down the front straight in a power wheelie not even trying! The brakes are so responsive you could endo if not careful. Goes where you point it rather than having to wrestle it like my 16 S1000RR. What I did NOT especially care for is the TALL first gear - that makes it great to use on the track, but now you have to cross neutral, and I caught a false neutral a few times. Just have to be positive on the shift (I'm set up for GP). Just be careful and don't wad it up! This is NOT A STREET BIKE it's too hot to ride, but on track at speed it was fine. I'll have race plastics on mine for next season!.

Not even a little bit of a street bike, BUT there’s people still riding it that way 😂. I personally love the tall gearing, it gives me a useable first gear for tight stuff but each guy is gonna feel different about that. If you can get your hands on it run the performance oil. It changes the bike significantly more than you’d think it’s honestly wild

I don’t mind the high first year really. It means you are getting to use more of the transmission when you ride it. I just have to be careful going between first and second. Where the hell did you find the performance oil?

Some deals on the V4R at the moment have me tempted to switch from the SP2 (same as V4S) for track use. How would you compare your V4R to your base V4 (not sure if you upgraded suspension or anything else on that).

Does it come with GPS/DDA? If not then what are you using for data acquisition? If you’re not doing that then it’s really useful to have fact rather than feel to work from. Great comparison between the bikes though and it looked like you immediately felt at home on it. Any difference in the lap times you are getting?

It does come with the GPS and DDA. I of course forgot to use it like an idiot haha. And whatcha mean by fact vs feel? For lap times I ran my PR +/- .2 seconds almost every lap expect when I had some traffic stuff and my last 1/2 session when the back tire was destroyed. I was pretty happy with that for my first day on the bike!

I am really confused, does it have dry clutch or wet ?!! When you bought the bike the clutch looked wet because it was covered now i see that is dry ???

  • @Tnskydivr-ok2zt

    @Tnskydivr-ok2zt

It comes from the factory with a dry clutch. It just has a full cover on it I suspect so you could ride it in the rain if you chose to. That cover comes off without a gasket and you can put an open cover on it anytime.

Dry Clutch under a solid cover from the factory.; probably for wet riding conditions.

For the average track rider (assuming money doesn't matter) would you recommend the V4S or V4R?

I'm a coach. If money doesn't matter, and you want to be the king of the straights, go for it. But, to be honest, a smaller bike that you don't have to worry about crashing will make you a much better rider much quicker.

I think that is really good advice. Luckily I'm in a financial situation where I can afford to buy a V4R. I have a few other bikes already including a R3, Ducati Monster and Panigale V2. I'm am also a decently experienced track day rider as well. I actually bought a V4R not too long ago and it is by far my favorite bike and surprisingly the easiest to ride as well. Now if I ever crash its going to really suck.... @@Tnskydivr-ok2zt

In 6 months, you'll be better than 90% of riders on the street... then you can buy yourself one of these after some experience at big tracks..
