What I like most about WGB is their chemistry. They're all top-notch musicians, but they always look like they enjoy each other's company when they're together both onstage and offstage. That intense joy and energy translates so well to their faster-paced songs. They're brilliant performers with the production values to match.

Yuko Suzuhana (vocals / keyboard), Daisuke Kaminaga (shakuhachi), and Kiyoshi Ibukuro (koto) are active under the group name "Hanafugetsu". Yuko Suzuhana has always had a sense of crisis about the decline of Japanese classical performing arts and traditional culture. She recruited performers of various genres, saying, "I want to appeal Japanese classical entertainment to the world in a more pop style." And "Wagakki Band" was born. Their first work was to create a cover album "Vocalo Zanmai" for vocaloid songs made with computer software "Vocaloid" that makes virtual idols sing. The music video for "Senbonzakura" has attracted worldwide attention and has been watched 140 million times. Please note that MVs other than live video owned by Avex will be blocked because the affiliation has been transferred from Avex to Universal.

WAGAKKI literally means "(traditional) Japanese instrument(s)", so that's where their name comes from. The song 'Senbonzakura' means 'one thousand cherry trees', and is a cover version of a Hatsune Miku vocaloid song.

The traditional instruments blend well with electric guitars when the musicians are able to make it sound good. This is great music.

Good luck with that one. Shamisen and Shakuhachi (Bambooflute) are near impossible to learn inside of 10 years. I gave that Shakuhachi once a try and to be honest i was horrible :D
