The Guzheng instrument you heard and see is called a Koto, a Japanese style version of the Guzheng and is meant to represent the dragon.

The male singer that sings with Yuko (the lead vocalist) in Synchronicity is Machiya-san and is actually there in every Wagakki Band video or performance because he is part of the band. He is the guitarist and he usually supports Yuko with background vocals 👍

long time no see. this band plays rock music. but including japanese traditionl instruments. the long harp is called “koto””, and the guitar-like instrument is called “shamisen”. and your favourite flute is called “shakuhachi”, that is different from the flute that you have experienced in the performance of misia “ikanaide” in singer2020. what makes this band special, i think, is that while they play rock music, those rock-original instruments backup, and those japanese instruments come up in the front, that is totally a new style. glad you found this band. maybe you might like another style of this kind of japanese band: i.e. an okinawa band playing okinawa pop music called “begin”. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aZ2Olo9tdby0ns4.html

the flute is a shakuhachi (bamboo flute), the string instrument is koto, then there's shamisen (the guitar look-alike with a fan-like pick).

my favorite Japanese band is "JAM Project" (JAM stands for Japanese Anisong Makers) , they mainly make songs for anime, games, and they also have their own album. JAM Project formed in 1999 by two veteran singers, Mizuki Ichiro (famous for his song for 80s anime and super hero shows) and Kageyama Hironobu (famous for his songs in Dragon Ball Z). Then they added more members and by today, they have 5 members. Today's people might know them from anime One Punch Man, which they sung the OP theme "The Hero". The current members are : - Kageyama Hironobu (Leader, song writer, composer, singer) : famous for songs from Dragon Ball Z - Kitadani Hiroshi (Singer) : famous for his song in anime One Piece and some others. - Fukuyama Yoshiki (Singer, guitarist) : famous for his song in anime Macross Seven and some others. - Okui Masami (Singer) : famous for her song in Utena and many others. - Masaaki Endoh (Singer) : famous for his song in super hero shows and some others . All members are 40 years old or older already, each one of them have been in the music industry in Japan since the 1980's. Most of their songs are upbeat, with heavy emphasis on emotional, motivational, and heroic lyrics. They do sang some ballad, metal, rock, and so on... They are not tied to a certain style.

I suppose you are talking about Tan Weiwei to mix the tradtional elements into rock, jazz, pop and so on, like the Wagakki as well. As for the instrument that the man's blowing is 尺八 (Shakuhachi), it's a Japanese traditional instrument which came from Tang Dynasty of China a thousand years ago. Anyway, as you said they indeed mix many tradtional factors including shakuhachi, zheng, shamisen and taiko into the hardcore and to form a unique Japanese rock style of their own

Can you please react to another band from Japan called BAND-MAIKO & the official MV to their song Gion-Cho? It's a long story, but BAND-MAIKO is the alter ego of BAND-MAID, which is an all female hard rock band & while performing as BAND-MAIKO they incorporate traditional Japanese instruments & are dressed in traditional Maiko kimonos. All songs they perform as BAND-MAIKO are covers of their own songs except for Gion-Cho, which is a original & the MV is filmed in & around Kyoto. Take care and thank you.

The drummer (the one on the western drums, not the taiko drumms) is usually shirtless and he usually has the song name written on his back)
