I saw Vicente in Denver during one of his last concerts. He sang for 3 hours straight, drinking shots of tequila and gave it everything. He did not need a microphone...his voice was that powerful. Best concert i have ever attended.

I can Co-sign on that because I was lucky enough to see him in Las Vegas and he sang for about 3 hrs also. He ended up getting a fine for takin long. He had his revolver at the hip and takin shots before every song. A true legend for the culture and the world. RIP Chente

I know that's a concert you'll NEVER forget!!
At a Mexican party, if this song comes on, the ENTIRE party is singing this shit at the top of their lungs and passing that tequila around at the same time.

Facts!!! ❤😂❤
Vicente was once a guest at a Mexican late night show and they told him as a prank that he was gonna have to lip synch his song due to technical issues. He threatened to walk out and not perform because "he doesn't do that kind of shit" to his fans.
The "siren" you heard is what we Hispanics refer to as El grito and its in a lot of Vicentes music

Snoop Dogg paying tribute to chente was very special.
"Chente" and Juan Gabriel are the epitome of Mexican pride. Saw Vicente Fernandez around 7 times in my life, and it NEVER got old. This man is the pride and joy of us Mexicanos. His son Alejandro is also an excellent singer. He now has his grandson Alex Jr. singing too. This family has a gift for having golden voices.
This was back in the 70s. We grew up listening to "Chente" and I've told my kids they need to know who Chente is & his sounds. He is Mariachi
He is the only one that could sing without a microphone and would sound exactly the same
Dude, we ALL feel it when this song comes on. Everybody stops what they're doing for to sing along to that "VOLVER VOLVER VOOOOOOLLLLVEEEEEEERRRRR!" part. 😂
Yoooo for the Record, Vicente Fernandez is the renowned king of Miariachi, and its alot older that 14 years old! He is like the Ray Charles of the black culture oldies

Omg. Wow, very honored either way to have exoerienced this
Volver Volver "return return" or coming back coming back. He was the one and only Vicente Fernandez.
You know a backside story vicente never liked singing with other artists, but when asked by a reporter, if there was an artist that he wanted to do a duet with, he said yes Javier Solis and Alfredo Jimenez, which now are dead, if you get to hear them you will get where he is coming from
I miss Chente 😢 irreplaceable. My family and I used to watch his movies when I was little. That man has a special place in my heart.
the big hats are worn by Charros, (aka cowboys) in Mexico. Historically these horseman from the countryside, worked on the haciendas and rural areas performing all his tasks on horseback. They are also typically used by mariachi musicians while performing as a nod to the culture

Yes, they were a practical means to stay protected by the sun during the long hours of working outside.
That siren sound you mention is the typical sound that's normal in Mariachi songs.
This is THE GOAT! Grow up with him You had everybody in the whole family listening to him You would go to a funeral a birthday party a wedding every single celebration for multiple generations had to be Vicente Fernandez and his music. Legends never die. I'm so glad that so many people even after his death are finding out who he is. Snoop Dogg did a tribute to him at one of his concerts shortly after he passed and many others celebrities that I have no idea even knew who he was but apparently did. He's iconic.
If you were to hear his natural voice,it sounds nothing like his singing voice, he was a true LEGEND 🙏🏻
4:40 "batutaré, batuntaré" HAHAHAAHAH. You nailed it, bro. Actually, it's "yo sé perder, yo sé perder" (means: " I can loose/I know how to loose).
Thats our drunk music bro! When you start talking about your last love all efft up haha

He was one of the best performers in Mexico, him, Pedro Infante, Javier Solis they put a meaning as people coming from nothing to legends !!
He is the best of the best! Go to Guadalajara Mexico , you can tour his ranch and get to know everything about him
3:25 Every mexican chingon can do that, el grito, you do it when you are overfilled with joy
José Jose singing El Triste !! He won an international amateur singning contest late 70s with that song. It will give you goose bumps

Jose Jose didn't win ... he came in 3rd (total rip off) - no one remembers the 1st or 2nd place songs but everyone knows "El Triste!"
As a Hispanic, i can definitely grito like that "siren" did 🤣🤣 been doing it since a kid 😭
Man these are all songs we grew up with. It's crazy to see people listening to these for the first time.
there will never be anyone like vicenete fernandez. rip to a legend🙏🏼😮💨

Omg wow! Thx for that
Most definitely can do that, it’s a Mexican thing, when we listen to this music that grito (siren 😂) is a must!!!
Love Chente. Saw him in concert. He makes me want to drink. Lol My daughter plays softball in college and this is her walk up song.
Man I have had the great experience of seeing Juan Gabriel, Jose Jose and Vicente Fernandez live at the Juarez fair and just a couple of feet away and it's a totally different experience than seeing them in a normal concert great experience!!
The Grito (Shout) and the vocals sustained is about being proud of being a hardworking person and respecting everyone
The only thing I can do with my voice es ese grito. Lo.amo
You need to see Jose Jose!! Especially when he preformed el Triste!! Vocals are wild!!
RIP Vicente , you should react to Acá Entre Nos (En Vivo) he is much older but still maintains s strong voices .
He's called El Rey for a reason
Legends that are missed ! My best memories of my mom whom is no longer on this earth ..
You had me lmao on "ma tun mare" 🤣 volver means return. He wants to return to his love. He is willing to swallow his pride and ready to die to return into his loved arms. Very romantic actually.
You don’t even have to understand what he is saying that singing and that vibe you feel it in your soul.
This is the Man. Miss this man everyday. Volver i Volver. Munchas Gracias Don Vicente. 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽. Tucson, Arizona.
He wants to come back to his love, great song!
Thank you for like our culture
Recommend you listen to Luis Miguel, my personal favorite song "La Bikina" 🤙🏼 As a native of Mexico, thanks for listening and admiring our music, respect! 🙏
He’s the frank sinatra of Mexico
Nuestro Chente❤❤
If he understood why VICENTE "feels the lyrics" knowing the story behind the lyrics would make you feel amazing.❤
In my opinion Vicente's voice is the best from Mexico, there are many spectacular musicians and singers in Mexico but Chente is an icon and a legend. I am puertorrican married to a Mexican and I had a crush on Vicente when I was a teen because of the melody of his voice even tho he was WAY older than me
Bro, what can we say… the goat.
Volver mean to come back. He wants to come back to his loves life, he said he will get to where ever she is, he knows how to count his loses/ knows about loss but is eager to volver/come back. That is the song in a fast summary
Vicente was the GOAT,,,,
i saw him at the joe freeman coliseum in San Antonio back in the 90's and when he did that long note he pulled his mic down during that note and in the whole arena you could not tell the difference
The big hats of “charros” that’s what el Capo Don Vicente is a “charro” from Jalisco.
This song brings back the memories ❤
Return, return…and yes. Vicente --Chente -- plus I am THAT OLD … thank you for discovering/exploring Mexican folklore. Another icon…I am old enough to have seen him Live. He embraced his audience to the point we became his chorus. Oh, the memories you, young man, are bringing. I am smiling ear to ear. Yes..that is him going that high. It is an art!
That shout is called the "Grito."
Rip to the GOAT
He was THEE best!! Every song leaves chills.
Cowboys concept started in Mexico. A Charro is Mexican cowboy that actually started the rodeo tradition how to rope etc. the big hats and the way they’re dressed comes from Spain but changed once it was in Mexico. The big hats are really just supposed to be useful from the hot sun down south, but mariachis are musicians so there Charo outfit is a lot more peacocky then an actual Charro “cowboy” would be because they are just for show back in the day. You would pay a group of mariachis to go serenade your girlfriend at her house.
The big hats are used for mariachi bands and it is used to sing and I the hat comes with the suit for singing too
PLEASE react to "Acá entre nos" live! It's gonna blow your mind!
Absolute mf LEGEND!!! And you’re a legend for appreciating this 👏🏼
That’s the charro culture he’s a legend 🎉
I love the video of him singing with his son. That was one amazing moment.
The videos were uploaded 14 years ago but I asure you these songs and artists are more than 30 years ago. This one in particular was in the early 70s.
Love that song!!!
@DonVon. The hat comes from the hispanic heritage adopted by the natives and new Spain landlords to cover the head during farming and herd cattle. Then the charro outfit was gaining popularity because it was a sign of richness. The complete outfit can be very expensive, with details in gold and or silver handcrafted. A TITANs player honored our culture dressing a "traje de charro" Derrick Henry. You can see the video and pictures.
Let's gooooooo!!! And yes I can do the "grito ranchero"
Real Man music here brother is all i have to say 🙏🕊️😢r.i.p VF
Appreciate you doing these!
I've been listening to Vicente since I was in my mom's womb. My dad played him every weekend while he pretty much got drunk. Still.... I love it. I love his music. It's in my DNA. His voice is UNICA... one and only. I cried when he passed. I got to see him in concert. Best memory ever. RIP Chente❤
I remember gong to one of Vincente Fernandez concert.... the crowd man.... Jesus
The outfit is a Mexican traditional "Charro" dress (Mexican Cowboy) worn at "charriadas" bull/ horse competitions.
Oh, Vicente Montero, he was my gma’s fav. She’d start her Saturdays listening to him and cleaning, and always ended up drunk and still listening to him 🤣 He’s another classic. He has amazing songs.
@donvon Look for Sigo siendo El Rey that song and his voice will blow you out the water 💦!! I’m Dominican 🇩🇴🇩🇴 and we love both Vicente and Juan Gabriel.
Sombrero the charro bro love & respect 🇲🇽
You said look his face he said “ I know how to lose, I know how to lose”
México 🇲🇽
Volver Volver, is a love song about loosing the one you love and you want them back
Another GOAT Jose alfredo Jimenez, and pedro infante
Siempre el rey!
The fact that you noticed his expressions at the end @5:00 made this reaction even more special
The siren scream was not him, was one of the band members but is a traditional happy scream, Mariachi clothing, or * traje de charro*, is based on the traditional Mexican outfit of the charro, a type of horseman. The charro suit is a Mexican adaptation of Spanish equestrian attire, and was once the attire of Mexico's rural upper class
You gotta see Big Boy from power 106 singing with Vicente Fernandez at his concert!!!
Bro! This was fkn awesome love it
A TRUE GOAT REST IN PEACE❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am part of a mariachi band and my favorite songs we performed are Vicente Fernandez songs. In my country, Colombia, we LOVE Chente, he said many times that after Mexico, Colombia was like his second home.
Sombre means shadow so Sombrero is a hat to cover you that large hats will give you cover in the sun very practical for farmers/ cowboys especially in the desert
That video is probably as old as me or older (I just turned 44). And as mentioned b4 he was the GOT of his "era" of the mariachi music. Look for the last tour video
He is not just like JUAN he is better. That’s why he is THE KING.
A true man’s man. And a true ladies man. The greatest
they're Charros/Mariachis from the state of Jalisco. Vicente Fernandez is a Legend and the epitome of Mariachis
Classic song
This a bad ass song it reminds me of my grandma
What's crazy is that the shout was one of the mariachis lol
He wants to return (volver).to her arms
Big hat is the Sombrero Charro !
The goat
Im Mexican so when I was growing up I learned fluent Spanish at the age of 5 and that yell that he did my family taught me and ever since I do the Mexican yell to every song I can do it too 😌👍🏽
El Rey
