    I have seen other videos showing the probe making a faster coarse bump and then a slower one, do you not think that process has value? I want a Plasma XR and this MR-1 so badly that I may just apply for a job in Conroe lol

    Question, did you have to cut the rectangular part off with another saw before you did the second operation? Just curious as to how you clean up the back side of the part.

  • @ryanwykes

    @ryanwykes

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah gotta cut op 1 with a bit deeper depth than normal, cut the part off with a bandsaw from the remaining stock, face it down to size then reindex position with the probe.

    Machine looks like a lot of fun. I was just looking at your part a bit closer and at 3:07 I saw the chamfer on the holes and edges was off. Was that on purpose or did something go awry? Thanks

    good eye! Op.1 was indexed off a corner and op. 2 was indexed from a center hole with the langmuir probe that was un-tuned.

    Great video! How is the CAM software? What did you use before the MR1's software?

  • @ryanwykes

    @ryanwykes

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey. The cam software generates the GCode for you. It plots out the tool path. I have always used Fusion 360 but there are others that also work. the software of MR1 is "Cut Control" and it is proprietary software specific to the MR-1. Langmuir does not have cam software, but they play along with multiple different software programs.

    quite! it only has the basics for now, home off X, Y, Z, all 3, bore, boss, hoping they will come out with more routines soon.

    it looks really bothersome to clean without a slanted base and chip auger. might have to pause to clean on big projects. but it looks like it does a fine job.

    Nice part and those chips had me memorized... lol us nerdy machine guys find that shizzz to be hypnotic. Do they have you mix a cutting oil base or is that just water? hoping soon i can get one of these bad boys.

    it's amazing how the machine sounds when it's cutting. the cutting fluid is a mixture of synthetic coolant and tap water.
