I remember the first Night (full 24 hours) I spent in my van just for a test run, fun indeed. I had and still have, a mobile router with aerial, good internet in almost all places. I got a Chromebook and a 12 volt 9 watt smart TV, even got a projector (the tiny ones, expensive little thing) used for two hours or so then gave it to my daughter. I thought because I use a PC at home the Chromebook would be Good...10 hours on the Chromebook over a two year period, so gave that to my sister (it wasn't a cheap one either) The TV, a few hours of use, never wanted to watch it in my van but still have it. I got a tablet just over 10 inch screen, hardly use it in the house but like it a lot in my van, so easy to charge and lasts for ages; doesn't require much of my main battery to charge up. I don't use a phone much at home, it's the most used device in my van. It's funny what we deem important at First until we realise how living in a van (with me it was usually three weeks at a time approximately) changes things for us. I come to realise that anything that uses less power, especially if not driving long distances regularly to recharge the leisure battery/batteries up, or, good solar (on grey days with short daylight hours...energy efficiency is a must TBH. I have an eberspacher diesel heater but it consumes battery power, a lot in winter. I had to stop using it at nights and hey! it can get cold at night Harley, especially in winter... a good winter duvet or two is important. This is what I think, Best of both worlds here. When the winter hits, Park at home in the drive and run an extension lead to your van, or! move into your old room if that's a choice. Reasons for this are, busking will be more difficult in winter and so will charging stuff up. Use up every hour of Good weather you can to Busk so you can take it easy or have a well earned break over the winter months. I have close friends that actually live in vans plus I've met many other #vanlifers, probably around 70 to 80 over the last five years. Vanlife can be very bleak in winter and vanlife KZread doesn't reflect this as much as it should in my opinion. Outside of KZread I found more truth. Summer is Wonderful, spring Optimistic, Autumn pleasant enough and Winter can be rather Challenging in All aspects. Having a better understand of this will help you be better prepared physically and mentally Harley; I think. It's great doing what your doing and hopefully KZread will help you financially as well as Busking...You could sell merch, PayPal support, CD's or downloads of your original songs and even Patreon at some point. Anyway, I'm sure you will have a blast one way or another as you know your parents are supportive which is the main thing. Oops sorry for the looong read haha! You just brought back some of my best First memories Of my van and I...I did put up a short series of videos myself and should do more, I enjoyed it. No worries for the long message. Haha, just takes me longer to get back to you!! 😁 Yeah I don't expect I'll use the telly all that much its just in an even I might get an hour in or on a rainy day ect. I would like a tablet at some point so much easier to take around with you than a laptop, I can't edit on a tablet but would be a luxury little item I might get one day 😊 I know winter is going to be tough. I haven't figured the money side of things out yet but I know things always work out in the end 😊 I won't have a home to go back too as my parents are both moving into a motorhome too, in just 2 weeks!! Haha if you've put the merch seed in my head I want a see you in a t shirt 😉 Glad I could bring back some memories and I'll have to check out that playlist of yours! X

@@the_groovy_life Haha! as long as the T shirt isn't too girly 😂I have purchased merch before, I like to support new or growing channels I like, anything that helps and I get something new to wear. Lumafusion is great for editing on an iPad. iMovie is rather basic compared to Lumafusion but still OK. Lumafusion on an iPad...scrubbing through video in real time is awesome, it's also not very difficult to use; pretty intuitive. Most of my videos were edited with iMovie except for the later few. No worries about the late reply Harley, better late than never as they say. That's great, your mum and dad hitting the road too, you can always meet up or trail behind. Still, you will probably miss the memories of home for a little while but that's normal and you'll be fine!

@pa maj MARTINI VAN MAN haha okay pink is off the list 😂 Oh okay good to know I'll bare lumafusion in mind. I actually use shotcut which is pretty basic but it's free !! Yeah we'll defo meet up with my folks on the road! We are planning a campsite trip once they've moved out which will be a nice little break. Still vlogging though haha 😄

I didn't mean colour by girly 🤣😆 See, your channel is more interesting now because not only do you busk, you're a '#Vanlifer' too! 😆👊 I'll have to head over to your dads channel for a little catch up, although I was watching some of his reaction videos a few days ago with a friend for giggles 🤣

Still saving up for some things like security but I can share what I'm thinking of getting 😊 Yes I'd recommend as much research as possible, also you'll learn how to maintain the vans and how they work! Luckily my dads done all the googling but I'm learning as I go. Knowledge is power 🥰 x
