    I have a 2010 with 25.000 miles on it. Been around big parts of Europe and Eastern Europe and the bike has not failed me once. It starts, runs, accelerates and brakes like the day I picked it up. The only actual fault I have ever had was a light bulb in the rev counter going black. I’m not kidding, this is a proper, frickin’ good bike.

    I dumped my brand new Scrambler 900 on the concrete two days after I bought it, so don’t feel bad. Broke the clutch lever at the shear point. Forgot to put the kickstand down 😅. Everyone has done it. I love the bike. Same color as yours. Aesthetics are second to none and it has everything you’d want in a modern bike.

    Thanks for making this video. I just bought one new- was gonna buy a used bike, but I couldn’t find any decent used bikes in my area for 5 months and my car’s engine exploded 2,000 miles out of warranty. Got my first thousand miles on it after the MSF course, been loving it so far. No drops, 2 stalls so far, hope it stays that way! Ride on, brother!

    Nice bike. Congratulations. I guess I could tell some scrambler stories; I've got a first gen 2006 which I've had since brand new. It wasn't my first Triumph, nor my first new bike, and I've had a couple new ones since I bought it, but it's still my favorite, over ten years later. I hope you have as much lasting fun with yours as I've had with mine. And I look forward to more posts from you and your Scrambler.

Just ordered from the local Triumph dealer, printer out the number 05 in a font I liked, put that down on the plate and taped off the very edge, then I spray painted the plate matte black. Remove the tape/paper and done. I think the number plate I got for $20, and the spray paint was like $5.

    Hello, great video! What is the model of the back support ?

  • @ScramblerStories

    @ScramblerStories

    Жыл бұрын

    No back support, do you mean the rack on the rear? I had a grab rail installed for a bit, and then I changed to a rack/grab rail. Both were OEM accessories from Triumph. When I was traveling on this bike I would strap a bag across the rear of the seat for luggage, and that would be my back support.

    Honestly, I do feel like a beginner could start on it. It doesn't feel overwhelming powerful as long as you aren't going full throttle. The downside to learning on this bike, would be if you dropped it making a beginners mistake. The plus side, is it's incredibly easy to ride. So easy to learn on. My first bike was a 600cc crotch rocket. But it was used and beat up. If it was me, this could have easily been my first bike, other than I would have been nervous about dropping it or something. You'll have to decide if it's worth the risk of learning on a new expensive bike, or buying a cheap used one until you're ready for this one. Decisions, decisions! Either way, eventually get the Street Scrambler, it's awesome!

    Thank you! No I don't have an issues with vibrations or brake squeal. @@leeallen8840 It's a cool bike, and I would totally take one if BMW was feeling generous. But I would not choose it over the Triumph. The Street Scrambler is definitely more comfortable in my opinion, though it doesn't have as much power. I also think it's better looking, but the BWM is pretty too. I just don't like the way the front end looks. The main reason to get a BMW is that boxer engine, that's a real appeal to that bike in my opinion. I've put over 40,000 miles on my Street Scrambler and haven't had any real issues. At least any that weren't my fault! haha

  • @ScramblerStories

    @ScramblerStories

    5 жыл бұрын

    Thanks! There are lots of options, but all of them only are for the left side. Nothing yet to mount a pannier over the exhaust. Happy Trails made a rack for the older Scrambler, but they haven't made anything yet for this one. I am trying to ride to Alaska next year, so hopefully I'll be able to develop something with a friend to get lockable aluminum panniers on both sides. If I do, we'll certainly sell it to others. I haven't rode a XSR900, but I love the Scrambler and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's a super fun bike that rides well, looks great, and makes you feel super cool. I would say it could definitely be a first bike (I started on a 600cc sport bike), but you should consider a few things first. Taking some sort of rider safety course first would be a good idea. It's an easy motorbike to ride, so it really wouldn't be difficult to learn on. That being said, most riders make simple mistakes when starting out, and it's not uncommon to drop a bike when you're learning. It's probably best to learn on a cheap used bike and then graduate to a new one. However if you want to start with it, it's totally doable but do some kind of rider safety course first to learn a little first. In the end it'll really depend on you. I've been driving manual transmissions my whole life, and I've always had good balance, so learning wasn't a problem for me. My roommate on the other hand, struggling with shifting and balance. He's started with a TU250X and will graduate to the Street Scrambler when he's ready.

  • @ScramblerStories

    It does fine. Doesn't have much wind protection or creature comforts like heated seats and cruise control. I don't really find the power to be an issue, but a little more wouldn't hurt. It certainly wouldn't be as comfortable as a dedicated touring bike/ADV bike, but it can do it. Especially if you think of the days when Ted Simon traveled the world on a small Triumph.

    Soon hopefully. I have a whole bunch of videos shot, just need to finish the music for them but I've been busy. Did the saddlesore 1000, got some off-roading videos, Natchez Trace, etc. I'll look you up on IG.

    Where did you get the side number board please?

    It's the OEM number board from Triumph. Ordered it from my dealer for like $25.00. Then I printed up the numbers, cut them out, place them on the board and painted it with a matte black spray paint. I've seen people get theres professionally done but I was cheap!

    Thank you brotha, I too am 5’8. Anyways would you consider this bike very easy to control ? And great for it weight? Light? Heavy in turns? Crappy in brakes? Defects whatsoever? Keep up vids by the way 🕺🏻

    It's a great bike. I just got home from a 4,000+ mile trip to the Southwest. I have no issues with it at all. You really don't feel the weight, it is super is to do slow speed maneuvering, the brakes are adequate enough. I have nothing bad to say about it at all. More videos are coming. I have I think ten in the works. Just need to write music for them, finish editing, and upload.

    Spoked tyres = inner-tubes. I wouldn't like to have a puncture at speed. You replaced that really nice split seat which would have allowed you to have a rack instead of the rear seat. Still, your choice. Ah, now I see your wife rides pillion. Disappointing you dropped it. Much damage? Nice bike.

    No damage from the drop, although if you notice there is a dent in the gas tank from another off-road mishap that unfortunately my buddy stopped filming and didn't catch. For a good hour and a half I was getting good at sliding the back end around until I goofed! But other than the dent the bike was fine. I on the other hand fractured my shoulder. Need to eventually get a proper dual sport for playing in the dirt. The bench seat is more comfortable for me as well. The stock seat kind of pushes me forward, although I have kept it if I need it.

    Ha, well... depends on where you are and if you follow local laws. Not allowed to lane split/filter in most of North America. I certainly can't say I never have, but I usually don't and abide by local laws. Wish it was legal where I was though, as it makes sense.

    Yeah, i've seen people do it in NYC without issue. But then I've seen people get ticketed for it as well. New Orleans is similar. You can do it sometimes and they won't care, but do it in front of the wrong cop, ticket. Wish it was consistent!

    Haha! I did really like the stock mirrors once seeing them in person, but the bar ends are nice to clean up the view in front. You may notice in newer videos, I actually put the stock mirrors back on when using hand guards.
