    Our final ride and thoughts on the Street Scrambler, this bike would make a fab A2 compliant first bike, A Commuter every day bike or if you wanted that second bike in the garage, a classic bike then you cant go wrong here, this thing is awesome. Thanks for tuning in and much appreciated 🙏👍

    You lost me at “don’t take this off road”. Respectfully I think this bike is great for some dirt tracks. And the 50/50 tires have performed admirably. Agree on most everything else though. It’s a great all rounder.

    The extra precious metals needed for the Euro 5 cat made Triumph drop the included rack and knee pads of the previous model to keep the price the same. The plastic sump guard is just a styling exercise to cover the odd-looking gap under the engine where the cat goes on Bonnevilles with normal low exhausts. It really is a fun bike, and puts a grin on my face every time I take it out. I've never had a bike with cruise control so I don't miss that. The exhaust can get a bit hot when sat in traffic in summer, but this is only likely to bother shorter riders who don't have sufficient leg length to leave a gap when putting their feet down. The tyres are good and sticky in warmer weather, and feel perfectly planted even when the pegs are scraping (not something I'd be doing in winter!) The engine is an absolute peach with a gorgeous soundtrack. I agree about the old-school headlamp - it suits the bike and it casts a good beam at night. I got the Sandstorm edition which has a few extra bits including the metal sump guard, then added the engine dresser bars (I guess we don't call them 'crash' bars nowadays?) and heated grips. Glad you enjoyed your time with it.

    Hi Rick, great to hear from an owner! 👍 good to hear re the tyres as it was near freezing when they let go, but once warmed up had no issues. Agree re the engine one of my favourites motors. Thanks again for tuning in 🙏

    I bought one new in Summer 2020 and got on OK with the tyres until the cold wet roads of Winter arrived and I had a few "moments". I changed them for Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR's, the same dual sport genre as the Metzelers but I was much happier with them. I've done a couple of VERY mild green lanes but I also have a dirt bike and the SS was bought primarily with road use in mind and it's great for that. At 6'3" and 110kg's I also found the suspension a bit harsh but can be massively improved with progressive fork springs. Unfortunately it was nicked in November last year and subsequently written off but I went straight out and bought another one which is in the Goldline colours. I would also have liked tubeless tyres but it's no big deal really. I also fitted 4mm HD tubes on the old bike for a bit more resilience to punctures and I'll be doing the same with this one at the first tyre change. The bike is really easy to work on, I serviced the bike just before it was nicked, reshimming the valves etc and it's childsplay for a competent DIY mechanic. 👍

    What about the exhaust does it heat up and do you feel the heat coming through while riding in the traffic if you pants touch it do you get anything like that ?

  • @MOTOUK1

    @MOTOUK1

    2 жыл бұрын

    In the U.K. the air temp really is not hot enough and while I had the bike had no issues. The main heat I believe comes from the cat converter and I believe you can delete that making more straight through pipe and then the exhaust runs cooler, so if your in warmer climate that may help.

    You said, "You would just buy a smaller cc motorcycle" for off-road. That isn't necessarily true. What if the off-road trails are a long street ride away, and you want the street portion of the adventure to be enjoyable also? A scrambler might be just the ticket for that.
