Have you considered a clear indicator lens kit? Softens the oem satsuma's.
hi Nick - the Edale is definitely a nice jacket, but I am a bit hesitant to commit: I am an all year round commuter and wish every motorbike jacket had a neck as tall as the Trialmaster by Belstaff. The neck on the Edale looks very low profile, nearly flat, I would say. In your experience, does it provide adequate protection against the elements?
Gear indicator 😂
I like the nudge little one gave her sis for being on the PHONE 🙄🙄🙄
Hang on! Did you just bypass Glencoe and not share any footage.....shameful...😏😉
Thanks for the demonstration, does it matter if you get any of it on the chain?
No it’s ok on chain
@@MOTOUK1 Thank you 👍
Sorry for the random question, but I remember that you had an issue with the quick shifter on your Tiger. May I ask what the issue was, mine has also recently given up the ghost?
Yes it just stopped working and triumph replaced under warranty. Not sure what was wrong but they replaced it
All those local cafes and eating spots and you choose Costa, lol!!!
🤣🤣
Hi, noticed you have a Garmin Zumo mounted above the clocks. Any chance you can do a quick video on how you mounted it and how the windscreen operates with it fitted. I have just put a deposit down on a GT Explorer and have removed my Zumo from my old bike. Dave
Awesome congrats on the new bike. On the video link I look at what I used for the sat nav mount and also it’s in the video description cheers Nick. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mq5qpbNrnrzXmNY.htmlsi=qkWeQOlalaXTRfzB
It’s a small world because I did that run from Zurich to Lucern just yesterday, probably my last ride out on my 850 Sport before I trade it in for a 1200 GT Pro on Friday. The Vignette (not Carnet) for the motorway costs 40 francs (a bit more than 40 Euros), but in 6 years as a biker in Switzerland I have never been checked. I’m not saying don’t buy one if you’re passing through, but… Either way, nice to see you giving good publicity to my adopted homeland. Hope you come back one day. P.S. Interlaken is a lovely place to stay, but Andermatt is best positioned for the multiple passes in that area: Oberalp, Gotthard, Furka, Susten, Grimsel, Nufenen, Lukmanier and Klausen are all on your doorstep. Take a long weekend and ride them all. You won’t regret it.
why is it that sop few reviewers talk about how the bike copes with 70-80 on motorways for more than an hour and how well it handles
Still a crap bike
My wife an I have just started motocamping this year, but I really want to try going solo camping (no offence to the wife!) but the tent we have at the moment is too big to use on my own. I'm stuggling to decide between the Cub 2 and the Gobi 3. At 6'3" and 16 stone, I'm a big unit and have a big sleeping mattress (Thermarest Mondoking XXL) and I am wondering if the Cub mught actually be a bit on the small side for me. What do you think Nick, as you are a tall chap too (but slimmer than me!), would you have preferred a bit more space?
Yes go for more space 👍 I am diagonal in mine
@@MOTOUK1 Many thanks for the advice Nick.
Hi, can you tell me how you mounted your satnav on your Tiger Explorer? I have the same bike and I don't know what I need to fit a satnav. Thank you.
All here, also in description of the video kzread.info/dash/bejne/mq5qpbNrnrzXmNY.htmlsi=IjtKXryeKyusyu_F
very impressed exelent video
Thanks 🙏
The good thing is you’re in one piece. Bikes can be fixed, but I do wonder at your plans to go out on such a top heavy beast on an icy day! Oh well, lesson learned.
Just placed an order for the breitling edition and landed straight on this review.
Beautiful bike congrats 🍾
Hi! I wonder how do you clean it?
From there website Caring For Your Edale II Cotec D3O Jacket To care for your jacket, begin by lightly brushing off any dirt or soil, and use a cold damp cloth if necessary to wipe down the jacket. Clean it in this way regularly to maintain its appearance, but don’t be too harsh as the wax will be removed. You can re-wax the jacket with our Merlin Wax Cotton Tin when it loses its waxed finish and water begins to soak into the cotton rather than bead off. Please do not machine wash, tumble dry or use hot water on your jacket.
Nice video. I take delivery of a 2024 GT Pro this coming Friday and with a 34“…inseam, I find the bike very comfortable on the high seat setting (870mm). In the lower seat setting I found the leg angle to be a bit cramped, at least for a 60+ year old fart like me. I haven‘t tried the Rally Pro, but was so happy with the comfort of the GT pro during the test ride that I bought on the spot. I did ride a 900 Rally Pro as a potential alternative, but the crash bars somehow block my knees, and the hot air blowing on your thighs made it a no go.
Awesome congrats 🍾 yes I have heard others say with a 34 leg that air intakes hit knee. At 32 leg I don’t get this on the RP. Love my RP and done many thousands of comfy miles now 👍
@@MOTOUK1 im not sure the problem exists on the 1200 model range as there are deflectors that steer away the hot air.
Great review, thanks. I've done about 6k km on my Rally Pro Explorer and loved every one of them, but I'm not gonna lie, she is a heavy thing at the end of a long day on a tilted uphill slope as you're trying to park in an unfamiliar airbnb garage. Let alone solo off roading - if she drops on a slope and I'm on on my own - well. I was thinking of changing to the new, standard 1200 rally pro to save that 15/20 kilos (with the extra petrol). Have you or anyone else out there ridden both ? Does it make a proper difference ?
Yes ridden both and to be honest the feel similar really.
Really appreciate the video. Thank you.
Your welcome 🙏 👍
Sir which one would you recommend Bonneville or speed twin 900?
Both good bikes, speed is more sporty. Bonny more classic
They’re called guy ropes. Not guide ropes…
Thanks for the correction, 🤣
Amazon operated without profit for something like 10 or 20 years. Then they started Prime subscriptions which now bring in $25-30 billion a year just on subscription fees. That’s how they can continue to undercut their competition and still stay in business. Companies see this and are trying to figure out how they can get in on the action.
awesome, please advise if you have any videos on how you got the electrical wires connected, or any related videos that show it , thanks much
I use a thunderbox under seat connected straight to battery, it detects when bike switches on and off on its own and use that to connect the sat nav and phone. I didn’t do a video sorry www.healtech-electronics.com/products/tb/
@@MOTOUK1 awesome, thanks Nick , much appreciated
Can you do a test ride on a Suzuki GSXR 600cc
Not really as I’ve stopped test riding bikes for now as too busy with other projects sorry
@@MOTOUK1 that’s ok
@@MOTOUK1I’ve also got some projects
@@MOTOUK1 doing some work on my land rover defender
Can you do a test ride on a triumph rocket 3 roadster
I have done both rocket 3 current GT and R in the triumph playlist on my channel 👍 if it’s and older one then no sorry I can’t get one
@@MOTOUK1 oh ok
super
Thank you
use to be the Brew and Sprocket that was short lived, went yesterday and was closed as was the Knott End cafe, both closed Sunday and Monday in the middle of summer, I can see your daughter "borrowing your bike" at some time in the near future.
Haha yes I see both daughters taking both bikes David, then I will be bike less 😂😂
Liked and thanks as always Nick..
Thanks, Ian. Wishing you all the best.
Great help mate..where in your helmet is your mic located ?
Next to the side of the cheek pad
have you not considered upper protection bars ? by the way good videos , like your presentation style , clean words
Hi, no I’ve never considered upper crash bars as they only have weight of high. Also, I think they spoil the view of the bike. Thanks for tuning in much appreciated Nick.
@@MOTOUK1 also have you done any electrical works on it , like have extra power supply for phone or GPS etc , if so, appreciate a video on it when time permits , thanks
@@rajugeorge2312yes I have so connect phone mount wireless and gps it’s all on the channel I mention these a lot
@MOTOUK1 thanks , will check your channel for these videos, much appreciated
I had a ride up to Hadfields a few weeks ago, nice place, nice food, portions a tad small I thought, but those roads around there with the average speed cameras have made riding around that area a miserable experience, out of Lancaster the speed limit is 30mph for miles, and once you're beyond there the speed limits can be very vague with there not being enough speed limit signs so you know the speed limit, I'm no speed merchant and the limits are probably there for a reason but it's really spoilt those roads
Yes agree on the average cameras and your constantly looking down checking Speedo, I have nearly rear ended cars along there due to constantly looking down. On portions, great feedback to Hadfields. I sometimes find large portions too much and both times I have been it was enough to fill me. Love feedback though and can only be a good thing to feed this info back to them.
Hi Nick, I have to agree about R1300GSA. It’s ugly. I wasn’t taken with the R1300GS which is why I have the Tiger GT Explorer. But the gsa looks even worse. Must be new designers over at BMW.
Looks a lovely cafe , well worth a visit, nice to see your daughter going out with her dad on the bike😊
Thanks 🙏 👍
Do the Explorer mirrors screw straight in to the Rally Pro mounts without any adjustments?
Yes they do however you need to snip the wires
@@MOTOUK1 Thanks for the advice - no excuse now to replace my Mickey Mouse mirrors.
I see you have the DJI remote control on your tank bag does the remote turn on the action 4 or just the recording nick ? Keep up the great vids
Thanks for the vid mate. I honestly didn't know you had a pillion for a good part of the video!
Yes I use the DJI remote as I have both cameras start and stop recording from it same time so no sync needed. However atm it won’t wake up two cameras only one. I hope DJI change this somehow in a firmware update.
Cheers 🍻 yes me neither 🤣 either she’s a good pillion or the tiger suits pillion riding.
I’ll have to get that cafe on my list…..if you’re ever this side of the Pennines give the How Stean Gorge cafe in Nidderdale a try….its rather unusual (but good grub) 😊
I need to get over to Yorkshire as have not been in ages 👍
Nick think your find it’s cheaper to from Plymouth to Santander is cheaper? Keep up the great vids
Yes think so and will take a look
Just checked £1,068 return 😆 August I guess prices madness
Thanks Nick for taking us there again I went quite a few times when the previous guy had it, from Heysham where I live to there a nice ride, so maybe one day catch you the, thanks take care ted
Thanks Ted, yes maybe as I use that road a lot atm 👍
Finally, someone that agrees with me £1K for a ferry ticket to Spain is just 'too much'. I booked in 2018 and 2019 and 2020 it was just over £600 (which I thought was on the edge of my limit) When I looked to rebook in 2022 after the COVID thing, using my 'voucher' (had to cancel 2020 due to COVID) it was £1K+ (same weeks same everything) Honestly in your shoes, if it's possible (I know nothing about sailing) I'd be tempted to head South on your yacht with your family if the weather allows. Youngest daughter is 'dropping hints' she needs gloves that fit 🤣 Best way into casual jobs is let all your friends know she's looking, and to let you know if they hear of anything at their place.....👍
Tempted on the boat yes but that’s for next summer when I take her to the Mediterranean 👍
Nick, I must say the food and surrounding looks good at Hadfield's and the weather holding up too, can't be bad. How about Morocco for a visit?
Never fancied Morocco tbh but maybe 🤔
Can you do a test ride on the Harley Davidson 48 sportster
I could but I don’t want too 🤣
@@MOTOUK1 please can you
What about the rocket 3 roadster 2007
Honestly, when watching you on the bike i was wondering if you were meeting up with your daughter at Hadfields until you stopped and mentioned the "man" gloves, the bike didn't give a hint of a pillion hiding behind you. Good luck with your job hunting too , sadly im too far away in Scotland to assist.
🤣🤣 yes she’s back there. The tiger is such a good bike for pillion, don’t even feel a passenger on the back and super comfy seats
you really need to go to the sawmill at Wasdale ..in my opinion the best food and location in the lake district
Ooh never been there so will add it to my list to visit thanks 🙏
Also the Crosby cake cupboard on Birker fell 😀
Great place
@@adrianstrand1120 yes great place
Hi, just an idea for a part time job for your daughter. Take her to scorton, and instead of going to your usual Citroen coffee shop go into the barn across the road and have something to eat there. Whilst your there ask to speak to Neil anderton and tell him your daughter is looking for a job. There's usually some vacancy there looking too fill, and if there isn't leave her telephone number with him 😃
Good call thanks 🙏 love the Barn in Scorton
Great video. Thanks for sharing. The food looked amazing. Ride safe and keep the rubber side down. Cheers from the States
Cheers Rick 👍
The food looks great. I’d prefer a plate rather than a tin foil container. 😊😊
Yes it’s very nice 👌
You should get out moto-camping again Nick. Tis the season after all. I enjoy your solo camp vids with the slummit easy up tent while you cook steak and walk the viewer round the setup.
Soon Tom 👍
It's homely, IMHO
Love it there 👍
@@MOTOUK1 I meant the BMW
Is it worth geting a 125?
No
So should I just get my DAF
