Cricket is a sport which can be literally played anywhere. A big stadium - yes, at an open park - yes, at a cul de sac - yes, at a spare bedroom - yes, a classroom - ofcourse. I've played cricket at almost all the places listed above (except a stadium). Cricket is very flexible. I've played cricket with a hard bound book as bat and rolled up paper as ball. If MLC is able to get the attention of american kids, cricket will get a spot. 3 kids trying to spend a boring afternoon can play an individual game, 10 teens who want to play a competitive, physical team sport which is entertaining and cut throat? They too can play cricket. Americans Just hear about the 5 day test cricket, but cricket can be customized to many forms.

I don't think it can be played in anywhere. Countries like Finland, Canada, Iceland and some others will never catch it due to the excessive cold. Barely anyone can stand 3hrs outside playing a sport.

@@devinchandula4245 I've played cricket in a spare bedroom. In NE and Midwest US there are semi professional cricket academies who provide indoor cricket facilities. Even in colder weather other outdoor sports like tennis, football are played. Professional players need to stand outside in 3Hrs sure. But not the enthusiasts, for a game to gain popularity more people need to have awareness and small scale easy accessible versions are the best way to gain the attention.

Five day test is dying. It is nostalgic I understand. It is still relevant to some extent. It represents the heart of Cricket. But it cannot revive the cricket outside South Asia, South Africa, UK and Oceania(particularly Australia and New Zealand). ODIs/ T50s, T20s and B100s are the only way cricket can move forward.

Donno why people are making it such a Big deal to understand something.. When I Watched my First Cricket match when I was 5 or 6 years old, the only thing I understood was a Batsman hitting the Ball with a Bat, bowled by a Bowler.. If it reaches the Boundary, it's more runs... If the Ball is caught or the Wickets (those sticks in other's term 😂😂) are Hit, IT'S OUT.. Team with more run will Win.. This is enough to Watch Cricket.. Even a 5 yr child can understand 🙂 Run out took me some 6 matches to know.. My dad said, If those sticks are hit when Batsman is not in the Crease line, it's OUT.. Forget talking abt LBW, which took me years to understand.. 🙂

My fellow American friends, Keep watching Cricket as another Sport, U shall get into it and Enjoy it. It's not hard enough, It's an easy game with strategies as well. Just watch few games and Then try to get into it it's very easy then. U have to hit the Ball with Bat, If it reaches Boundary rope or touches the boundary rope after rolling through ground then it's Boundary/4 Runs Simultaneously if U hit a Shot which cleared the Boundary Rope or the ball has past the boundary rope without touching the ground inside the boundary rope then it's Over Boundary/Maximum Runs i.e. 6 Runs. Rests U have to score through running between the Wickets from one end to another end such as From Batting end to Bowling end by Striker Batsman and from Bowling end to Batting end by NON Striker Batsman simultaneously after hitting the ball in the Gap between fielders so that U can take the Run, 1 Run, 2 Runs if U can able to send the ball far enough from fielders inside the ground. Now Comes How a Batsman can be Out ? 1st one is Bowled Out, U know in Cricket Pitch there is Called Wickets which is actually 3 Stumps with Bails; collectively called as Wickets normaly U can Assume/Consider those stumps as Wickets, Bails importance discussing later, Let me tell U the Basic first, So if a Bowler Hit the Stumps while Bowling to a Batsman and Batsman missed it and Ball hit the wickets then he is Out; This Out is called as Bowled Out, 2nd one is if a Bowler Bowled and Batsman hits the Ball but The Ball has been Caught by Fielders before being Touched on ground then the Batsman is Out; it is Called as Caught Out, 3rd one When the batsmen r Running between the wickets to take single run/double, if the fielder gets the ball quicker when the two batsmen r far from two wicket ends(Batting end and bowling end) and throws it to Wickets to break or Sends it to Batting end Wicketkeeper and Bowling end fielder/bowler And They hit the Stumps with Bowl Then The Batsman is Out; it is called as Run Out, 4th one is LBW (Leg Before Wicket) Out means Batsman defended the wicket with Legs, didnt use Bat, So A Batsman can't defend Wickets through legs Rather through Bat, If U defend wickets through Ur legs instead of through Ur bat and Ball is upcoming straight towards the wickets and collided with Ur legs and U didnt defend/failed to defend then U r out, it is called as LBW(Leg Before Wicket) Out, U have to defend the ball with Ur Bat not with Ur Legs, 5th one is Stumped Out, Sometimes Batter Gets excited to Hit Over Boundaries or Boundaries, to do so they come out of the Crease or U can say Step out of Batting end (Space defined from Wickets to a marked Line towards bowling end termed as Crease to batting end) to hit the Ball Boundary(4 Runs) or Over Boundary (6 Runs) but during execution this if he somehow misses the Ball to hit while he is out of the Crease means out of the space of batting end marked by line from Wickets , Then The Wicketkeeper will Stump him out, Means Wicket keeper shall then collect the ball and hit the Stump to make the Batsman out; it is called Stumped out, These r the 5 Major Dismissals can be happened with any Batsman in Cricket, Fielding team has to execute it to defend Runs or to Choke the Runs so that Chasing Runs becomes easier for them to win the match. Now interesting point is, In This 5 Wicket Methods U have to remind one more point i.e. During Bowled Out, Run Out and Stumped out which is to make the bails fell from Wickets by Hitting the Stumps When Bails r Dropped through hitting the Stump by bowl in case of Bowled out, Run Out and Stumped out Batsman is out in these 3 cases, if bails r not dropped during hitting the Wickets by the Ball then Batsman cant be out especially during Bowled Out as well as if the bails r not lifted during Run out and Stumped Out in time while Batsman is outside the crease then Bastman is Not Out as U have to Drop the Bails when Batsman is out of crease then he is Out . There is also 2 Major point to Earn Extra Runs, i.e. first one is From Wide ball, If a Bowler Bowled a Ball away from the marked line which is distanced from Wickets Vertically but remains Parrallel to Wickets and the ball passes outside of that line or Ball is passing through leg side of the Batter after the bowling by the bowler, then in this both cases it is called as Wide Ball and Batting team shall be rewarded with 1 Extra Run and 1 More extra Ball to play again , remember Stump out and Run out is possible during Wide ball, Another one is No Ball, in case of NO Ball Bowler oversteps the same line marked in bowler end like Batter end distanced from Bowling end wickets, When bowler Oversteps this line while Bowling The Ball becomes No Ball or if the Bowler bowled a ball which didn't drop on pitch and is meeting with the bat Over the waist of the Batsman when Batsman r in Crease (Batsman standing Inside the batting end line or standing exactly over the Batting end line)is also declared as No ball, In this both cases Batting team will also be rewarded with 1 Run and 1 Extra Ball but with also a Chance to Free Hit in that next extra ball to Score A Boundary(4Runs) or Over Boundary(6Runs), But in this case while hitting the Shot Batsman Cant be Stumped Out, Bowled out, Caught Out and not even LBW, Only Batsman can be out through RUN out when Batsman Trying to take Run through Running. These r the Rules.One team Scores Run in 20 Overs as much as Possible later defend that Runs, Another team have to Chase it to Win the match in 20 Overs. Each Overs with 6 Balls. This Game lasts 3-3:30 Hours at Maximum. Yeah, There is also Some rules about fielding Regarding fielding placements as well, But These r Basic Rules, I had explained above. I shall be glad if my informations enlighten U about Cricket lil bit. It's not difficult to play, it's easy to play, But it's a strategy based game How to Out Opponent Batsmen during fielding and Chase the Score to win the Match during Batting without being out or before being All Out of the whole team. Cricket is Pretty Exciting Sport after Soccer, Thank U friends. Love and Respect from India.

We call Baseball Rounders in the UK. When I was at school in the fifty`s the boys played cricket the girls Rounders. I suppose rounders is easier to play. That's why you play it. And of course it was a gentleman's game. It isn't now since the rest of the world play it. But we play it the same still in the parks in the streets using the lamp post as the wickets two of us. I would bowl at him until I got him out then he would bowl at me till he got me out. I would bat for a long time but when he faced my bowling I would him out first ball. But he never complained about it. I would knock the ball all all over the place he he would run but he never complained. I cry for him my best friend.
