I'm certain they have multiple teams with their own tasks to priority - for example "Games/Innovation/Improvement" team don't do bug fixing. Just a guess...

Finally VW remembers to use dash screen for the driving data! That is the huge thing, so innovative 😆

The way the IDs should have been from the launch.. Let's hope these roll out 2022 and I can resume "not bashing VW" at every chance I get. 😁

Really nice! I'm glad to see they're adding new nice features. Hopefully they will roll-out the software update to the rest soon. Wish they would add a function to set the desired regen intensity, or at least regen up to a full stop, so one pedal driving will be possible. Fingers crossed for that one 🙂

This looks like some proper usable software with things which were just completly lacking. The driving information in the driver screen just seems so wow to me know, but when I think about it, it was a massive miss and dissaster not having it there in the first place. The rest of the software looks good, the charging in kW. Ahhh if there is one thing the software need just one it was that.

Love all the improvements but we’re yet to EVER receive an OTA in the USA. I’ve owned my ID.4 for 12 month and same glitchy, bare bones infotainment. Thx for the preview and glimpse of hope we’ll see this in America some day

I believe that these updates will be released when Chattenogga comes online.

I think VW has to make a new model year of all ID lineup and upgrade the infotainment processor to something significantly more powerful, at least 50X, so they can on one side smoothen the system, and also enable new experiences/features!

It’s just bad software. They should instead optimize it to be 50x faster. It is unbelievable slow for how simple it is visually.

Great to get the trip meter in the instrument cluster! Bu why can't we get it to the nearest .1km instead of only whole km 😐I find that useful when you pass a sign saying e.g. rest area in 1.6km, then I know when to expect it. My Golf had that...

Thanks for posting this. Here in the US, I just dropped off my 2021 ID.4 Pro S at the dealership for a battery recall. They are also going to install the 3.1 software update. Looks like there are some cool new features that I’ll be getting. I wonder if all of the features you wipe will be on the USA update, anyone know? I also noticed that your touchscreen is far more reactive and fast, which is nice. I’ll have my car back at the end of the week, so hopefully it’s all good.

OMG.. FINALLY!! that small instrument cluster becomes usable, with information I need to see while driving.. NOW i can consider to buy Eniaq or ID4... just curious - WHEN this will be available on cars.

I only have this ID.4 for another 3 years... At VW's current release velocity I may not see this.

@@mantabletin935 Haha, yeah, it's so bad having a car that is fully functional with actual decent routing, Superchargers, way faster, way better interior, way more updates, lots of features, a system that doesn't lag every other animation etc. But sure, not having fully autonomous driving is a real hassle. Imagine not having any of those features AND lacking any perspective on FSD whatsoever.

It looks great… I look forward to getting it on ab Aero B wagon…. 😅😹🤷‍♂️

Thanks for sharing the future of what's to come here in the US. We don't even have 2.4 yet. My guess is that we won't see this new update until the new Scout 4x4 brand gets launched here in the US

About spotify.... what is the sound quality using the app? I have a Golf 8, with the Harman Kardon System, the top Samsung galaxy phone, with Spotify Premium and highest quality downloaded files settings....... 1. connected via cable.... with Android Auto it defaults to a rubbish kbps and sounds awful.. no deep bass and the airyness (highs) are gone, which tells me it is using a low bit rate 2. Without Android Auto and via Bluetooth it sounds far better but of course I have to select the playlist or Album on the phone first. 3. What is the quality like, using the new Spotify App? Many thanks!

So when is it due for release to the fleet of VW vehicles globally? VW are just too bureaucratic being such a goliath of a car company, they need to just get these updates released forget going through the 18 layers of red tape internally to get it to the customers. As someone else said 2025, I'd say 2028 possibly as it will take that long to clear the red tape hurdles internally.

Looks like a nice update, but did they fix the long distance navigation so that it only selects >100kW chargers and it let's you arrive at a charger below 10%

Have they added an option to add a few km/h to the predictive cruise control? For example when it automatically sets my speed to 80 km/h according to the speed limit, I would like it to set it to 83, since it shows a little more than the actual GPS speed.

@@BatteryLife yes, you can see two columns or one. One column has distance and mi/kWh, two columns also shows elapsed time and average speed. Since Start is at bottom.

As an ID.3 1st Edition owner I commented 8 months ago about VW just making things work. On Thursday we are finally getting v3.1 (I booked in for v3.0 ???). I have no idea what we will see from all that you went through but please, no silly games.

Cool video as always. I got an ID5 and tried to set up Spotify. It is not in the VW app store!! The car is running version 3.2. Have you any suggestions how to get Spotify in the app store?? Thanks

For cars that have the augmented stuff enabled, the whole speed screen could display something more. Like full screen cruise control etc.

I have 3.1 on newly picked up 2022 ID.4 in US

How exactly can you filter by charging station operator? Can you only choose IONITY or also other charging station operators such as EnBW, Fastned or Allego?

What about navigator feature of considering travel rode slope? Is it included in 3.1 or still lacking? for travelling on mountains it is mandatory....I am exhausted to be forced to use ABRP....

This looks like something they should have had more or less ready when the ID.3 came out right?

Where do we make suggestions for future releases? My 2017 Passat navigation had Elevation data - would be useful as Electric cars take more energy going up and generate more going down.

We are hearing that the ID.4 arriving at the US ports are being held at the ports for a software update. Do you know what this is all about or would you find out what is happening? Why hasn't the software been updated in Germany before being shipped if in fact this is the case?

So bidirectional charging has a limit of budget of 4000h or 10000kwh? I wonder what will happen after that 🤔 10000 kWh are around 50000km when you do the math. I'm really curious how this will actually work and what Wallbox you'll need to buy

Probably has to do with the battery warranty. As long as you stay within those limits, VW will have full warranty including the original 8 yrs/160.000km.

@@wolfgangpreier9160 But with a 10000kwh limit for bidirectional charging, that is complete waste of money to build at home. Let's say you have a pv at home and can produce energy for 10 cent, while buying out of the grid costs 30 cents in Germany. You save 20 cents for every kwh you temporary store in the car. With a 10k limit, you can only save 2000€ in total. The DC wallbox alone will cost more than that. Effectively you would have to switch to a new car every 2-3 years if you want to continuously use the car as home storage.

@@wolfgangpreier9160 The limit makes no sense. We will have to wait for cars with v2g over ac and lfp batteries. Thinking about it, it won't even reach 10k kwh. Normal house load is below 500W over night, so if it's limited to 4000h too, that would be more like 2500 kwh usage before bidi gets shut off.

I am in Ireland with an ID.3 and I only have 2.3. Do you know what software we should be getting next and will it be over the air?

Sadly not exactly, Kia uses AC Bidirectional charging, VW DC, so you need a lot a converter in the case of the VWs.

1,5 month old ID.4 pro RWD here, no Spotify application in 3.2 software. This is only released to press car to make you buy it...

Tidal is missing from the store, hope they add it before release

Always improving??? When? I have the car two years now, had ONE update with no big changes. The 3.0 update also adds hardly anything and it never arrives. The app on mobile phone is just horrible. The ID family so far is horrible at improving software and tools.

Is it possible to disable Line Assistant so that it is disabled permanently and reactivate every time you leave the car? This is so annoying feature in winter time.

the next thing is to make the UI refresh at 60hz, it's really sluggish looking. but it's probably a weak cpu/gpu behind all that stuff.

Did a poll in our FB Id4 owners club group. 75 replies, 2 owners on 2.4 and the rest of them are still on 2.3 or lower.. what takes vw sooo long to roll out… it’s crazy

@@BatteryLife because a lot of VW dealers in the Netherlands are telling me that the update soon available but I’m not sure about that. And I thought when I saw your video about the 3.1 update that the update already available is but is not….

Plug and Charge has to be the biggest new feature here but you couldn’t get to an IONITY station to try it? Such a shame as I would love to witness a non Tesla just charge with no cards or apps.

Just got a new ID4 with new 3.0. And what’s new compared to 2.4 is that you need to press OK every time when you start the car to access the info system. Do you have any info about this stupid new thing.

All these screens still can't replace physical buttons where you always have instant access, what they need at the very least is common features such as climate control permanently on the top of the screen or bottom where they can always be access instantly.

They'll probably find a reason why it won't work in existing cars.... And it won't arrive before 2024 I assume. So done with the Volkswagen software update policy. 😡 The app is also still downright horrible. It's really an embarrassing situation. Volkswagen software engineers must be deeply ashamed of themselves. Guess the few good ones left a long time ago, not wanting their reputation destroyed by this horror story.
