I love how smallrig is working with creators really listening to what we want and looking for. Really hope this comes at a solid price point

Smallrig is not working with “creators” there’s like 10 guys all of these companies give things to… 💯 if you want these items free… start spending your money on camera gear no one wants or needs and do reviews and eventually boom you’ll get some free stuff… Gene is different as he definitely has skills outside of the the “creator” label… but most don’t leave their homes fam… you may actually have more talent than the “creators” these companies reach out too… but if your bank account can’t keep up with the release of new products then this isn’t for you.

I got to play with it more today and it’s cool but the grip that actuates the release is at a strange angle that makes it difficult to taqueéis comfortably - and maybe it’s because Potato has been swinging from it but it’s very difficult to close efficiently. The legs bind and catch so it’s very difficult to collapse. Also, it might work better when opening if there were spreaders? It’s definitely not really for prime time but looks promising. YC Onion also has a very quick deploying and easy to use monopod that’s lightweight and at a decent price point.

I've had a Manfrotto Neotec for 20 years now and yet to come across a faster deployant tripod set up until NOW. Finally I can move on into the future, love this design for my landscape Aussie adventures. I'd pay $1K AUD, maybe release an Aluminium version for higher sales.

I’m not allergic to putting lights on sticks, while a down-softbox isn’t in the cards, the fastest off-camera keylight I do is one of the compact battery lights 1/4-20’d onto a cheap amateur tripod. Cloth diffusion from lightweight backdrop stand (indoor only). C-stands really have earned their place for flexibility and the other options like clamps, magnets and so on are way more case-sensitive.

SOOOO GOOD!!! Price isnt that important because this is so new, we need revisions. This easily is what everyone has been waiting for. I have no idea why there arent many versions by many makers out there. Its like it took decades for engineers to realize luggage should have wheels on them. Then it took them years to come up with basic rolling luggage. Many revisions should be coming from many makers. Come on, its so obvious.

You can clearly see the legs flexing on the torsion. This will make the end of a fast pan or maybe even a slow pan have a lot of backlash. A spreader will help.

Dang @potatojet @genenagata now that I seen this in depth video, I really would like this (if affordable). 2 would be nice. One with the fluid head for video and one without a head, so I can put the head I love for my stills photography. I can really see this for my road trips, camping, studio work, etc.
