When artists WROTE, SANG, PERFORMED, COMPOSED AND ARRANGED their OWN music. This is classic funk! Nothing like this today!

They made a mistake and played the drum track backwards, and liked how it sounded so they kept it that way. 😂 George was so high that he was yelling craziness into the mic, all that “Whyyyyy must I…Chase the cat!” was him high out his mind. Garry Schider (R.I.P.) took what George did and arranged the song and George came back the next day like ‘I gotta fix the song’ Garry was like: it’s fixed. 😂 George laid the finishing touches to it and the rest is what you played. 💯

That is the pure, uncut funk. As George would say,"don't step on my funk". Foreal tho!

Yasssss I'm a funk-a-teer and I finally after 45yrs got to see him in concert for my 60th birthday. It was everything but wish I cuda seen him in the 70s with bootsy and diaper man. He's in his 80s and doesn't look like it without the yarn in his hair. Ty for this

Sorry you missed him in Concert with Diaper- man and Bootsy. Best concert I've ever Experienced to this day I'm 69 that says a lot. " Flashlight " was their hit at the time. There were joint passed around the arena and thrown into the crowd. Of course smoke was in the air so everyone was high.😁🤣🤣🤣 A huge Flashlight came down from ceiling and freaked everyone out. It had one huge eye with long lashes shining a light looking around 😁😅🤣🤣🤣🤣

This song is iconic..we all knew it and the words and crazy changes. George Clinton did a lot of great stuff.

The first ring I remember hearing this was way back when legendary wrestler Junk Yard Dog would use this as his entrance music.

I don't know how it's possible not to have heard this song before.

During my time of "Clubbin',.... As soon as you hear the 1st few notes on the track, Barkin', Grindin',....All Dat'..... Dat's what Club Dogs did then.

The first concert I attended was when my mom was pregnant with me. She made powder blue leisure suits for herself and my father. My pops said everyone was smoking including George. That explains why I'm the way I am.

My brother took his 7 yr old daughter with him to see P-Funk. They were hanging out backstage. He said he didn’t know whether to cover her ears or her nose (to shield her from the language or the smoke)!
