First Impressions of Taman Negara: Most beautiful place in Malaysia? PAHANG, MALAYSIA TRAVEL VLOG

We explore Taman Negara (National Park) in Pahang, Malaysia!
After crossing the river from Kuala Tahan, we entered Taman Negara where we did the canopy walk, and hiked Bukit Teresek (Terisek).
Hiking in Taman Negara is a popular activity but unfortunately we cannot hike Gunung Tahan or other destination where overnight stay is required due to the RMCO in Malaysia.
After our hike, our friend Meor took us on a short road trip passing the Hornbill Valley, and then decided to watch the sunset at Bukit Awan where we can see a spectacular view of Taman Negara.
The next day, we took a boat ride to Latah Berkoh where the cascading waterfall is, but on the way, we stopped at a 400 yr old Teluan tree, and at a Kelah Sanctuary. We had a great time exploring Taman Negara.
Stay tuned for more Taman Negara vlog and Taman Negara guide. We hope you enjoy our Malaysia travel vlog and Malaysia travel guide. We will upload more vlogs to help you plan things to do in Taman Negara, things to do in Pahang, and things to do in Malaysia.
Btw, check out our friend, Meor's KZread channel for more Taman Negara info. He is an expert on the National Park: / meoramran

FYI : Taman Negara is one of the world's oldest deciduous rainforests, estimated to be more than 130 million years old. Amazon rainforest is at 55 million years old. Dinosaurs roamed Taman Negara and the forests up north (bordering Malaysia/Thailand)

@@JetLagWarriors there is 3 oldest tropical in the world and all of them located here, in Malaysia. They're : 1) Taman Negara ( Pahang, Kelantan & Terengganu ) 2) Royal Belum, Perak 3) Taman Negara Endau-Rompin, Johor - Pahang These 3 tropical rainforest rainforest believed to be more than 130 million years old. So ancient and scientists believed those dinasours crawled and lived in these jungle! And yes, they buried beneath these jungles! Daintree Rainforest in Queensland may be the oldest rainforest in the world and these trio however is the third oldest rainforest in the world but the reputation as THE OLDEST TROPICAL RAINFOREST ON EARTH is still held by these trio! For your information, Taman Negara is home those to creatures, together with Royal Belum and Taman Negara Endau-Rompin consist some of the oldest rock formations in entire Malaysia, dating back more than 200 millions years ( half the age of Langkawi Geopark )! There is also a rumours that Taman Negara Endau-Rompin still keep an ancient plant, dating back since Jurassic era, but the exact location in this jungle never told to anyone! Why these jungles so old and ancient? Scientists believed these rainforest was one of a very little jungles that survived from The Last Ice Age, 11 000 years ago! Because the location of this rainforest nearby from Equator. That's one of the explanation. I'll conquer Royal Belum this November and Taman Negara next year. Can't wait!

I love this video...reminds me of my trip there...twice! Got stung twice by ground wasps during my first trip at 16 in 1981!!! Had traditional style shower and swam in the river. Spotted the longest caterpillar (easily 10-12 inches long) while hiking. Aaa....good times. Second visit, visited the kelah sanctuary and was amazed when the ranger called them to feed them. This was by the river, not the sanctuary where a number of kelah were found. (Yes, the fish recognised his voice and swam against the current to get their food!!!!) When you hike at night, you would stumble upon all kinds of plants - like glow in the dark - which is literally what it is. Helps you not get lost in the woods! Good job guys!

I've been to Taman Negara Malaysia, Kuala Tahan for 5 times guys! 3x climbing the majestic Mount Tahan. Twice from Kuala Tahan Park HQ and once from Merapoh. Awesome hiking up. Taman Negara is always visited by foreigners but due to covid-19 pandemic, you see less foreign travelers nowadays. My recent trip was 3 weeks ago with my family. We stayed at Asian Camp Resort (same as yours) and Balai Serama Guesthouse. Taman Negara is managed by Jabatan Perhutanan Negara (National Forest Department). Entry permit is only RM1 - a nominal fee is charged to whoever entered the National Park. Anyway, when we went that recent visit, it was so packed with locals and we almost didn't get to book our room due overly booked by local travelers due to long holiday (school holiday). We even couldn't walk on the Canopy Walk though waited for 3 days because there were 300++ people queuing to climb up the Canopy Walk. We went back to Kuantan without getting the chance to walk on the canopy walk....Anyway, better luck next time....

@@JetLagWarriors Fit in my younger years...that were in 90s'. The last climb if I'm mistaken was in 1996. And after that, the Taman Negara recent visit was 3 weeks ago....after 24 yrs I guessed. Back then, they were already starting to construct the canopy walk. I've been to other National Parks around Malaysia ie. Taman Negara Endau-Rompin, Taman Negara Mulu, Taman Negara Santubong and Taman Negara Kinabalu. Can't wait to watch your Part 2 Taman Negara adventure...keep up the good work guys! Thank you for your nice words about Malaysian, the cultures, the people, the places, the 13 states' uniqueness and varieties of food, the islands and the places you stayed. Tq a million guys....!
