Best KAMPUNG homestay (Our FAVOURITE) in Malaysia! @ Min House Camp, Kelantan - MALAYSIA TRAVEL VLOG
The BEST place to stay in Malaysia, and a MUST DO in Kelantan!
For our last view days in Kelantan, we decided to stay at Min House Camp in Kubang Kerian, not far from Kota Bharu. This is not your regular homestay! The Aunty is the nicest lady and full of knowledge. She got a huge garden which she calls “Food Forest”, an aquaponic garden, colonies of bees, and a mini farm with chicken and goats! The property itself will amaze you. It is built in an ecofriendly environment, and it sits right by the river so you can enjoy some kayaking. You can also learn how to cook traditional dishes! We made lemang and onde onde the other day. Oh! Steve also went clam digging (lokan).
Min House Camp is the perfect gateaway to relax and get healthy! Wondering where to stay in Malaysia for cuti cuti Malaysia? Well, if you are looking for an authentic local Malaysian experience in Kelantan, we recommend staying at Min House Camp in Kubang Kerian to experience local village life.
Follow our travels throughout Malaysia if you are looking for things to do in Malaysia, things to do in Kelantan, things to do in Kota Bharu. We will film more Malaysia travel vlog and Malaysia food vlog to help you plan your Malaysia travel guide. I hope you enjoy our Kelantan travel vlogs and Kelantan travel guide. Don’t forget to watch our Kota Bharu Vlogs as well where we did our First Impressions of Kelantan and visited many popular places in Kelantan such as the famous Pasar Siti Khadijah.

I made a research and wrote a thesis about these stingless bees in Malaysia especially about the Trigona Itama and Thoracica. Their honey always taste different, varies at different times of year (sometimes it tastes sour, some other times it tastes sweet or the mix of the two) depending on the flowers and trees they visited and the taste comes from the plant resins which the bees use to build their hives and honey pots. I always bring a straw along to the research site where their nests are located to slurp on the fresh honey. Amazing experience! The bees are stingless and won't hurt you but it can be quite annoying when they stuck to your skin/hair/clothes, it feels like your whole body vibrating like a phone lmao.

Lol. Good description of what the bees feel like on your skin! And interesting thesis! This was our first time around stingless bees, or having fresh honey! And it was absolutely great. I want bees at my house now, when we are done traveling lol

14:05 A yo-yo made out of a seed & string is amongst the diy game malay children used to play. Back then, everything can be turn into something for us to play together.. Even the whole kampung is our play ground hehe 😅.. We don't need the expensive gadgets. When we saw slippers, we'll play 'baling selipar', we found empty tins or bottles, we'll used them to play our version of 'bowling', then we'll collect some small rocks to play 'batu seremban', then when we're finished with it, we'll play 'galah panjang', police & thief & other games... We were always busy playing around, from morning until evening. We only came home to get lunch, but we have to return home in the evening, before sunset or else we'll get to hear a non-stop lectures from our mothers 😅... So nostalgic

This is by far, the most interesting vlog I've watched of yours. Sincere, fresh, informative, cultural, bits of hands on activities, food, descriptive and interactive. Going to Taman Negara soon, hopefully you both make it to a small hike (~3km) for Kelah fish Sanctuary. I was lucky to have seen Tapir and rare birds/chicken nearby where I stayed. We hired a canoe/motorised sampan to explore the canals and the river. ENjoy your next trip.

This is a really great introduction to the place! Auntie's amazing skills and knowledge about agriculture and creating a self-sustainable ecosystem within the place is absolute #lifegoals and I am just soooo impressed by it! I can only wish to have half her skillset when I am at her age. Wish there were more people like her in the country! If you guys are coming back down to KL, I think Kebun-Kebun Bangsar (you can find them on Facebook) is another interesting place you can visit. I personally think the people behind it are absolute geniuses (I think the person who founded it is an architect?) to bring long lost survival skills of growing your own food, farm animals and also a similar thought as the auntie you met of building their own self-sustainable ecosystem right smack in the center of the city. If you can get connected with them and have them bring you through about what they do, it would be amazing. More urban folk need to get it touch with this side of them and get connected to the environment around them! They are open for visits and they seem to be keen to have children growing up in the city to get to know about the environment better.
