You are spot on about everything, lol! You're in the Balkans, baby! The "farmer's" market in Herceg-Novi (Old Town) is very reasonable, and there is a wonderful bakery that IS open on Sundays just right across from it! Pekara Panino 2! It's wonderful! No cruise ship traffic here, so it's less expensive and relaxed.

I would suggest going to Tivat to visit Porto Montenegro marina and Luštica bay, as well as Porto Novi marina (the bus ride between towns is really cheap). I would also suggest exploring all of the hiking tours in Boka bay. The regular bus ride is also cheap, so I would suggest you go to the North of Montenegro, the nature there is beautiful (fun fact: Montenegro is the first ecological state by constitution, in the world). You should also visit the capital of Montenegro Podgorica and royal capital Cetinje and also Lovćen national park! 🙂

Yes, Porto Montenegro, a case study example of money laundry and drug dealing. Unfortunately.

Well ,you said that you don't want to go to Budva because it's more expansive and now you said there is not much to do in Kotor . Kotor is little town ,that even in tourist season ,don't go crazy . Budva is much bigger and much more things to do but you have to pay little more for that . In Serbia we have expression : "How much money , that much music you get" 🤣🤣🤣Cheers from COLD Ontario . They saying we will get some snow tonight🤬🤬

I been to Budva every year since i am born 45 years ago and is always place from i go other places to Montenegro and Kotor is like half hour drive.Budva is bigger then Kotor so more things to do

Budva is the largest city on the coast with a charming old town dating back around 3 thousand years with a lovely Sv. Nicolas(Hawai) island close to the old city walls. There, you'll have many more opportunities to spend your time interestingly. There are some nice towns further south of Budva too. Be sure to visit the island of Sveti Stefan with its beaches and also beaches of the King and Ween. That whole complex is one of the most beautiful/must see places on the Montenegrin coast. I also suggest eventually visiting the picturesque towns of Rafailovići, and Petrovac. Maybe also ruines of the ancient city- Stari Bar. A few of greatest beaches are: Jaz, Drobni pijesak, Ploče... On the main road to Budva, a few km before entering the city, there is a restaurant with a beautiful view of bay. Talking about Kotor's area there's also a great mountain cable car with an amazing view on the whole Boka bay. Have a great stay in Montenegro😊

You gies are so cute. Living in Toronto as a big city, compared to living in Kotor, as a small coastal town, it sure must be boring after you kind of explore what there is to be explored. If I were in your shoes, I'd have a week in Dubrovnik (preferably with no cruzers) and another in Split, there are buses surely to get there. If you stay in Montenegro with the "polako" mentality, once you come home, you'll be thinking kind of "what the heck, here we've been living all our lives at the speed of light". Sit in a bus and visit Dubrovnik and Split. There are good connections from Split airport as well.

Indeed! You've said it all. And we already knew about it, we've been there, too. The mafia controls and racketeers everything. That's why everything is overpriced. Rude, uncivilized, running wild in stolen cars. And you were lucky to get that meal at all. Even something as common as fried eggs. Since you might have been left waiting for hours. And everything is dead on Sunday. The only thing I liked, though, was a museum. Greece is million times better, not to mention Spain.

Boka and Kotor are very boring. People are… idk…a very “unique” mentality for sure. Your rude neighbour is not a lonely case. There is nothing else to do for them there but minding other peoples business and “guard” their property - just in spite. If you get tired of the sea at one point, because there is nothing else to do, move around. Montenegro is not a big country. You can visit all what could be visited practically in two-three days by car. Kotor and Boka in general are not for longer living for young people and nomads, just for a short stay by the seaside. Go to the mountains, Lovcen, Njegusi, Cetinje (just for a short visit again), Podgorica, maybe Budva, but again, Budva is at the sea side - it is the same vibe, just bigger. The country is very beautiful and nature is phenomenal, but there are “lazy Montenegrin” jokes around Balkans for a good reason. Also a very patriarchal culture and nothing works as you expect. I was in Dobrota for two weeks one Summer, many years ago. After a few days, I could not wait to go back home. Good luck.

thats why people go there, what did you expect, if you want to live in a dirty and loud city with stressed people then go there and most people are friendly, some tourists are just extremely egoistic destroying things of inhabitants, thats why they are watchin

@@vfbmne1 No, I have been there several times. People are very rude and unfriendly. No one’s destroying anything, especially passing by one’s ingrown plot which no one is using. They would like to have tourists to earn money but send them home immediately, preferably for tourist not come at all, just send money. Of course there are nice people too. Like everywhere. But in general not a very friendly bunch.

@@marisaj2346 It's called the Mediterranean semi-urban setting, imagine, wow. 😅 "Lazy Montenegrins" is a very shallow understanding of the Montenegrin context. According to the EUROSTAT, Montenegro is at the top of working hours in Europe, while Germany is very much at the bottom. So don't spread the lies. Go to northern Montenegro where people work in industry and energy sector, so tell me how "lazy" they are. The southern Montenegrin context is similar to Dalmatia, somewhat to Herzegovina, semi-urban Greek and semi-urban southern Italian context... It's a slow lifestyle, quite predictable and repetitive, with very low level of stress, where people are also not "super active" (="lazy") because of their lifestyle they easily sustain with either local small-scale agriculture and especially tourism, and often due to high temperatures, and in the context of Montenegro the pride they have. True, so many Montenegrins don't want to do "any job", they don't emigrate abroad so easily as some others in Southeast Europe and East Europe.

Sea is nice but it gets boring very fast. Sea is just to chill like couple of weeks and go back home.
