Hi Mayleen, If you are not going to use all of the chairs, you should use some of the tennis balls for your table legs. The tables you lowered leaves the bottom sharp and it will wear the felt pretty quickly.

I seriously love teacher like you because you guys make us love school and we as students will remember you guys forever:)

As a fellow first grade teacher, you will probably do most of your lessons on the carpet so everyone is close to you and can see/hear. I wouldn’t worry too much about backs to the board, definitely think about having them turn to face you. When they are doing things in groups, partners, and/independent is when they will utilize the flexible sitting options, correct? Or would they always be spread out?

You are very enjoyable! The bins for the cubbies... can go back in the cubby for student materials, you can use them in your class library, or possibly as storage in your cabinets - out of sight if you do not like the colors - just don’t get rid of them... I’ve done #1,2, and the haul and I’ll be tuning in for the rest today and new ones as they come in. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😃

I really like the 3 levels with the tables!

I'm binge watching all of these right now! Currently a sophomore ECE major (shooting for kindergarten). This is making me so excited!

It's probably good that you moved the cabinet near the sink. I was thinking that if you put your jackets and some personal things in there, you may also want to put quick snacks and maybe coffee in there. If you are allowed to have a kettle near the sink then that would work really well to have supplies nearby. Do you know if you are allowed to have a kettle, microwave or little fridge?You are doing a great job. The tiered desks look very effective.

Mrs. Call's Campers I don’t bullet journal as much as I used to. It does take time that I don’t have as much of anymore.

I can’t wait to become a teacher I’m a elementary education major I plan on teaching 2nd grade.

Love watching your videos. I remember buying tons of stuff for my classroom my first year too. Just a suggestion. I have my word wall by my word work / writing center. Then my students can reference words we have learned easily.

OMG I love you!! I find it so relaxing to watch videos like these! Also is anyone else obsessed with that whiteboard to-do list or is it just me?

I meant to comment this on your haul video but when you said you weren’t sure what to put in the two photo frames. In one, on the first day of school take a photo of you and your class and put that in there and then in the other one, take a picture of your class once it is fully ready (one because it’s your first ever class and two because you worked so hard and so you can remember what it looked like). I really love your channel btw. I want to be a teacher in the future and this makes me more and more excited as planning your room looks so fun. Anyway love your channel and you will be an amazing teacher. 👩‍🏫

I'm a middle schooler, and this just really entertains me.....and I'm also watching this in March 2019......thx for this entertainment while I plead to be a teacher when I grow up and can't wait now to decorate my classroom. lol

I saw someone else's comment about putting hand prints on the blue board and think it's a great idea. Maybe you can put the children's birthdays on the hands too?!

Just my two cents as to your question about kids sitting backward...you can teach them about "listening chair" where they turn around when you're giving instruction at the front of the room. Just be careful on who sits there and whether they can do listening chair. You could also call some students to sit up front on the floor. I call my three back groups to sit up front on the floor for our math lesson. (I teach 3rd.) I love all of your ideas and enthusiasm! Good luck on your first year teaching! :)

I need to take out the legs from one of my tables, what did you put under them? Is it felt? Also love the idea of making a big to do list on your white board! You will get way better at building things as a teacher I was horrible to begin with also however this year I have already noticed I am getting better even though it’s only been a year 🤣

Truth be told I don’t really remember 1st grade especially now that I’ve moved away from where I lived during that time, but teachers like you really make school more enjoyable for students so thank you!! I taught kindergarten this last year and had a similar issue with backs being to the white board but I trained the kiddos that when I said “teacher chairs” they’d turn their chairs so everyone would be facing the white board, then when it was independent time they turned their chairs back and worked away!! Good luck this year!!

Super late but I love the way you planned everything out on the computer!

Hang in there! Every classroom that I have moved into I have had to the exact same thing. I really feel as if principals need to be more proactive in this area. Curriculum that is not used any longer should be boxed and stored, and every classroom needs to have a level of expected cleanliness. Budgets are tight, but our schools should be able to be basically clean. It will get better. Take it one section at a time, and ask a friend to come help for a couple of hours. It goes faster when you have a buddy!

the blue board you mentioned in your first video, i think you should paint mrs calls campers on it and put it somewhere in your room!

Hey, I have a suggestion. You could turn the blue wood that you have into a table or bench as a another flexible seating option.

Are you going to utilize the board behind your guided reading table? In my opinion I think that will be a better place for your word wall instead over your computers if you are mostly going to be using your white board.

I love the seating you made,i'm going into highschool this year and I wish my previous teachers did something like that before,I think it will really help with your students alot. My mother worked with kids who have behavioral issues and she had yoga balls in her classroom for students who may be kind of losing it to just calm down.

YES! So many people think it will be hard to manage/too much for littles, but the reason I am doing it is to help them manage themselves! Thank you for this! :)

The blue board may have been used to put on top of the air unit to block it in case it gets too hot/cold. I’ve had that problem before and sometime just having something blocking some of the air can work wonders.

I found your videos in my suggestions and I am so glad I watched! You are so fun and your kids are going to love having you as a teacher!! I am going into my 7th year as a teacher, my 5th year in Kindergarten. I too still like to buy ALL. THE. STUFF!!! However, each year does get easier, I promise! I got a ton of my books from library book sales (a paper grocery bag for $1), Half Priced Book Store in the clearance section, and then I buy so many, many books each month from Scholastic. You'll get there!

My second grade teacher used to let the students stay late at school with her (with parents permission of course) and help her grade homework and other stuff like that. She said it was a reward for the good kids, but let’s be real, she just needed the help😂

Hey use the boxes from the cubby thing for book boxes put lables on them and the kids get one to store thete books in

I’m playing catch-up on your videos so you may have found your Big Lots bins, but Pocketfullofprimary said in her last video that you can now order those online. Maybe cheek that out if you’re still in need. Never thought of using chair cushions as floor cushions. Great idea! Having access to 2000 copies a month is amazing! We get 500 so when you have 700 students in your room every 10 day period that doesn’t go very far😒

We had computers all the way in the back of the classroom, facing the wall. I don't know how that would work with the kids or with the windows. It did work really well, but it was in my middle-/highschool classroom and there were no windows on the back walls there

A tepee or tent could be helpful for kids who easily get overstimulated. It would give them a spot to calm down without the bright light or other children. I know it helps my cousin who has a slight learning disability! Just an idea 😊

I also am on the search for more of those black book bins, but I am at the point where I am just going to order them online because I want all black!!!!

I live in South Africa and I was in primary school in the early 2000s and NONE of my class rooms looked as good as the ones American teachers have. We had to buy our own supplies - if you don't have a ruler you had to ask a friend.

This is so helpful and I love all of you're videos. You are so organized just like me! I can't wait until I am old enough to be a teacher because I have wanted to be one since I was very young. I was also wondering if you have any advice for going in to 8th and how to stay organized and how to get good grades. Thank you so much!

Lol I’m just watching all of your videos because I’m really bored this summer! If you’re wondering why it’s because my first day at a french school is a week from tomorrow and I’m so exited and bored but I’m also nervous that the fact that the school is french will effect my learning but I did have to take an interview to make it in (and I made it) but since your going to be a teacher or even anyone seeing this comment do you have any advice
