    Once I get the cart back out from under the car. I may do a revised video physically showing all the dimensions. Thank you for watching. Feel free to reach out at any point. 👍

    Hey love this channel and this video! Can’t help but notice your Rock County Fury shirt. My cousins played for that team for years and I played for my local team growing up. I’m currently restoring a ‘68 Camaro and about to start putting together my own frame jig for it. If you’re still in that area and I’m not over stepping I’d love to take a look at it in person and pick your brain on the whole process. If not I totally understand but figured it couldn’t hurt to ask! Again great stuff and love how in-depth you’ve gotten in all your videos!

    Nice build and Great Share! I am assuming the 13/16 compensates for the bushings, because the books shows 13" inches to the front. The other thing I would do is add something to hold the rockers so they are in the correct position and height. The other measurement I was looking at says 9, I get 9 1/8 to the floor mounts again assuming a bushing is 13/16 + frame thickness 2 13/16 + 5 1/2 to the datum.

  • @GoGoGarage

    ok, I see the correction on the next revision of it being 9 1/8

    Yes, the 13/16 compensates for the bushings, at least that what the Firebird service manual says. As for the floor. I decided to add those after the fact so didn’t go off any specs for those. For the rockers that’s another video of some brackets that we attach to the body cart to hold them up in place while fine tuning install. Got that from Jubee. Thanks for the input and thanks for watching.

    @@JK_Nex_Garage thanks, that's where I had trouble. Making sure that the 13/16 was the difference and the height of the floor mount.

    Yes I also have a 1969 Firebird that was passed over to me for my late dad and that's the reason I want to keep it in the family I want to restore it back to what it was I might cheat a little and put a better motor though

  • @JK_Nex_Garage

    That’s awesome, it’s not cheating if it makes you happy. We are making ours how we want it and what we like. Not necessarily back to original. Good luck with it, and keep us posted on your progress.

    I'm trying to verify the design before building a jig for my car. I'm looking at your drawing, on the plan view at the rearmost uprights. I am not seeing how you get a 41-1/2" inner dimension, and a centered dimension of 43-3/4" at the same time with 1-1/2" tube as the other sheet indicates. If I hold the inner dimension at 41-1/2" as pictured, the outer dimension would just add 1/2 of the tube diameter twice, or more simply, add 1x the tube diameter... giving me 43" even. Where did the extra 3/4" come from? I am tempted to hold the 43-3/4" though, since almost all the other dimensions are on center and assume the 41-1/2" was miscalculated? Maybe I'm missing something?

  • @blackcloud77

    @blackcloud77

    I think I figured it out, is 41-3/4" not an inner dimension for the riser, but between the angle caps instead? I read another comment along those lines and thought that might be it.

  • @JK_Nex_Garage

    @JK_Nex_Garage

    Ай бұрын

    Yes. Sorry for any confusion. The video #3 at the 1:38 mark kind of explains it. The 41-1/2” is the inside of the frame rails angles. That allow some play of about a 1/4” between the frame rail and the angle. Please reach back out if you need more help. Sorry for the confusion. ✌️

    @@JK_Nex_Garage No problem at all, I'm just glad to have another shot at a solid set of plans, since I could never figure out why the factory dimensions didn't quite work! I appreciate that you took the time to do this! I have been reading plan sets for decades, so the assumption of an inner dimension was on me...anyone else might not have been tripped up by that. :)
