Great job getting the engine running sweet! Re the ABS fault - I had one on my 21yo Golf 1.6. Checked the pins on the ABS ECU vehicle side connector (circuit diagram available online) and diagnosed a failed wheel speed sensor. All fixed with a £6 aftermarket part and right as rain now. So my advice is - check the sensors before fiddling with replacement ECUs or the hydraulics

Again great video, Dean! As always, the part you bought comes from the socalled "Zulieferer" Pierburg. All VAG factories and others like Mercedes buy from these often smaller factories ATE Pierburg Bosch, which are specialized on a few products. They sell their products to the great carmakers and sometimes they are not allowed to sell these products directly to customers. I've already seen that the productnumber was erased but 100% identical.

I had the same issue with my '08 GTI, turned out that the ABS module was faulty, infact it was a known issue throughout VW, I believe there was a recall in some markets except South Africa 🇿🇦 . They actually wanted me to pay R40 000 ($2700), for a replacement module. I was left with no choice but to fight with VWSA until they agreed to replace the module free of charge. My point was that this was a known problem with these cars, i should not be made to suffer just because my car was out of warranty. This happened in 2016.

In VCDS, actual boost will always show at least atmospheric pressure as the sensor is before the throttle body and not a true Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. The specified boost is a red herring as it's the expected pressure within the manifold. You'll never have specified and actual meeting at idle.

If BMW and AUDI would fit indicators as standard that would help. Seems that so many drivers of all makes and models don't bother indicating. Or they indicate right, and then take exit 2 off a roundabout. I feel and share your pain with this problem. I drive an Audi and a truck, I indicate. Edit: Id also like to point out that trucks WILL and I DO pull onto a roundabout if cars are not indicating. Not indicating, is actually indicating straight on. So turning right and not indicating is likely to end up with an HGV across the front of person who didnt indicate. They are usually quick to indicate their displeasure with their horns. Dashcam shows indicators🤣

I hate that indicating right and taking 2nd exit!
What a pain in the arse with those smaller issues. At least it came good in the end.
It is a well known fact that BMW are fitted with indicators. It's just they never fitted an indicator stalk to work them.
You should try driving round Devon mate. No one indicates, they all sit at the roundabout waiting for a written invitation and they all do 20 miles an hour.
