Loving the new concept and it's very original too. Sheds some light on the repair process and costs. Great work!
What an excellent concept for fast-to-produce, relevant content. Well done and look forward to seeing more of these...
What an absolute gem, I'd be looking at buying a wing in colour from a breaker and I think you could repair it for peanuts! Crazy what they will write off, makes you wish you knew the owner and got them to buy it back before it went to auction. The one sad thing here is that a car with the lightest of damage gets a category N marker on its history which will put alot of ill informed people off buying it.

This is going to be a real good deal for whoever buys it.. This is a great idea. Not only for content but also for the buyer that knows exactly what they're getting!
Really enjoyed the video. Thanks for passing on your experience and knowledge. It was great help. Pity I missed the opportunity to buy the Q3, been looking for one for a while. I'm just playing catch up with the rest of your videos, like the format and your natural no messing approach, i.e., just get it done! 👍
loving this new style flip the car. As you said all the risk is yours, a real oppetuity for us to break into this field with a headstart. Great idea and good luck with it all.
I bought a Calibra many years ago, stolen recovered, wheels and interior gone and minor paint damage due to dragging something over the bonnet. Got a full leather interior for 600 quid, set of aftermarket wheels and tyres £300 ish (90's remember) - few hundred quid for paint. Ended up with about 4 grand in it IIRC. Rang the previous owner (company) to see if they had service history - very angry woman saying how "you can't have that car it was a complete write off, they told us it would be £12,000 to repair!!!". Explained the situation to her and did actually get the service history. Main dealer prices again!!
It’s a great idea and will teach loads of people. A couple of suggestions: 1) tell us a bit more about how you found the car 2) open up for offers a day or two after the video is released as people may view it too late and miss the opportunity
Thats a great find low miles drive it as it is does need 4 tyres all are cracked great price like you said open too a good offer.
Being a pretty standard colour it should be possible to source the wing and maybe bonnet in colour and then it would all be a spanner job. Good one to start with Dean. More please.
Awesome... oh look parcel.shelf been nicked as usual...
You are the GO TOO for salvage knowledge and vids.... thank you

A great buy for someone, love the idea Dean, I would have no hesitation in buying a car from you, your knowledge is second to none, great stuff and well done.
Absolutely superb vlog Dean, very interesting and informative, good luck in selling that will fly away, nothing wrong with salvage, giving vehicles a second chance new lease of life, I have a cat n transit connect and delighted with it, my pride and joy 😂 kind regards to you Mark from Billericay 👍😃
Great video!! - really enjoyed it! :) - that's cracking price you're selling it for and someone is going to get an absolute bargain! - keep up the good work!
Aircon service on Audi VW group cars essential or the dryer cartridge can cause the condensing radiator to split, it happened on my S3 as previous owner didn't have it done.
Really good video was wondering where do you look for part replacements currently doing a golf
Brilliant dean. Really enjoyed this video. Great idea mate. Im sure people are going to get a great cars out of these videos. Well done that man 😁👏🏻👏🏻
Very good and original idea. Hoping this is the way forward for you and that you can engineer it that you have some reasonable financial gain for your time and effort.
Would you be able to show the Co-Part process as its confusing me. Looking to get my first car from auctions and would like to know how the process works, what the letters on the window screens mean etc. Love this EP
This is a great Idea. Love it. On a side note… insurance companies continue to make me sick! Perfectly good car. Many like this end up parted out also. This is why channels like this make me happy.
Brilliant mate! cracking idea and think the new concept is spot on! Gives someone a great deal and the chance to easily get there teeth into a project 👍🏻
A great car at a good price. But you should have really budgetted in around £600 for 4 new tyres. They all looked cracked around the edges.

In Germany you would get a ticket for this tyres. It‘s a safety thing you should never save money at safety stuff. Not worth risking anyone’s life. I looked it up, in the uk it isn’t allowed to drive with tyres older then 10 years. So they need to be changed soon anyway.

Bloody good video that! Love seeing way more attainable cars being included
Really cool idea for the channel, excited to see what other cars you find...
nice one,a round grand in self repairs got a good one, nice starter....
This series would be great for people looking to sell the cars you showcase here after repairs, it can show why the vehicle was written off and improve resale value
All I can say is wow! Will definitely keep an eye on this series as that car is amazing.
thankyou Dean great content,,and personally I think its genius what youve come up with,,👌👍💪
Amazing that a car with so little danage is written off but quite a few lightly damaged cars seem to be appearing on UT channels these days! Great idea and I don't see why you shouldn't make some profit out of it because as you say, you take the risk out of the process! Nothing to stop anyone buying direct from a salvage auction for a lower price but they are buying a complete unkown - you pays your money and you takes your chance!! Probably need to factor in some servicing costs particularly new tyres but that would apply to any 2nd hand car.
Wow looks like you bought a good one there especially with full history very minimal damage too well done 👍🏽👍🏽got tidy car and very minimal price
Great new content. Brilliant in fact. Simply well bloody done 👍
What a great idea to do this. Certainly looking out for the community💪 Someone has got a bargain!
Man, if I had some cash lying around I’d definitely take that off you. Some extra spend to replace tires if I was keeping it as a daily but even all in you would be under 10k. Good to know they are there if you look.
Cheers Deano just be weary with Car Vertical as in relation to outstanding finance you will need to do HPI check as it doesn’t cover some financial packages 👍👍

Be interested to see if any cars come up for salvage due to ecu/electrical faults alone and how these get dealt with. I certainly know of owners who have spent more than their car is worth trying to sort these faults.
That does it for me aswell when I look for cars, engine bay pictures
Great concept Dean 👍👍 I would put FFS at the end of the title, because that’s what my old woman would be saying if I brought another project home 😂😂
Trouble is mate, these assessors don't even come out to inspect vehicles. They are usually working from home or, can't be bothered to leave the office. All the garages just send in photos.
Great video ! Wished I lived in the UK and not NYC great deal for that car wow .😂
Really like the concept Dean, this one is out of my price range, would love to see you mix it up with some lower value motors
Gutted i missed this, would have snapped your hand off for it Dean. As for cars to see estate Leon 2.0l petrol Excellence / FR Sport
I had a £15k claim against my insurance, for a parking scuff on a bumper. Our car was undamaged and the Tesla my wife hit had a scuff on the bumper. A smart repair would have fixed it and would have been more relevant for a 9 year old car and it's condition. When I was made aware of the claim value I phoned the insurance, as I thought it was a mistake. A like for like hire car was half the cost and the rest was Tesla approved bodywork. It is easy to see why so many cars become a total loss.
Dean, this video is as great as I expected it to be!! Just sad that I don't live in the UK anymore.
Such a better style of content.. Best of luck with your new direction 👍
I’m also guessing a suburban London car from the reg, so low miles because it’s never left the city. Dpf likely en route to clogged and guessing by those terrible tyres no maintainance (should long since have been replaced due to age and condition). Unless you are going to start using it regularly (ie 10k+ a year) then walk away as its likely to be quite worn mechanically with all those short journeys/not warmed up/lack of passive dpf regen etc?
Appologies if I missed that - However looking at 2:59 there does appear to be two keys in the ignition. It does look a cracker of a car.
Great new concept Dean, that will make a cracking car for someone 👍🏼
I would drive as is,it wouldn't concern me one bit,I would replace all for boots for good cheapies,a dam good find indeed, also I would do the cambelt for piece of mind and drive it hard for a few hundred miles, its bound sure to be blocked up from little use and then drop the oil and do the filters
Great enjoyable audi Q3 content.this is a nice quality car N nice grey colour, all the best.😉
9:00 i can confirm insurance companies just go with the highest prices. i had a car "totaled" recently, they estimated it would cost around 9k+ to fix it's damages. they cut me a check, i bought it back from them for about 3-400 dollars, had it repaired by a good friend for about 1200, and pocketed a decent chunk of change 👍
good Job Dean well done!
That is a very reasonable price! If I was living in the UK, and wouldn't have my '09 Octavia RS, I would totally go for it. As someone living in Central Europe, I'm not used to seeing such a low mileage on a car of this age and class. Or if there is a low mileage car, it costs quite a bit.
@Afraz_9n3
Жыл бұрын
Its unusual here too and the lowest price one without cat n and the same mileage is a 64 plate for 14.5k. these have actually gone up in price in the past couple of years my dad bought a 17 plate 1.4 TFSI with 50k on it for 14k in 2021 and it's still worth that now at 79k miles a 50k mile one is going for 18k now
Loved this video - Please don't tempt me to buy another vehicle, I have 4 on the drive and I work from home !
To be fair to the insurers, they are supposed to put you back into the position you were before the accident and they warranty the repairs so probably do them to manufacturers spec.
2.0tdi manual gearbox. Ideal combination for reliability. Great price for that mileage.
In this day and age of protecting the environment and recycling etc it’s disgusting how the insurance industry are writing perfectly fixable cars off not to mention increasing our premiums to pay for it all.
Thanks for telling us what category N means, I don't live in the UK, great looking little car, super low mileage, good score, good luck to whoever gets it, Rj in Oz
It’s always the hidden damage if any that catches you out.. lol. It’s like these easy damage “baits” have been put to lure you into the trap lol. Nonetheless, looks like a good car! Good buy
Great new series Dean!!!.... maybe do fluid checks - engine oil, transmission dipsticks, rad overflow bottle, valve cover cap for blow head gasket check... and also a engine idle part of the video to check tensioners, water pump, alternator. cheers Stu

I bough a 2016 2.0 petrol 1 month ago. loving the car. quattro is very cool.
The car looks a year or 2 old underneath. Good idea for content. 👍🏻
.... and the lesson that we draw from this is that it costs so much to insure vehicles these days because of accident assessors too often are willing to write a car off than repair.
Good evening Dean hope all is well with you.
Lovely Q3 car, and in many respects very much the same car as my 2014 Skoda Yeti 2.0d FWD, other than the fact that mine has 100,000+ miles on it. Hopefully being s VAG enthusiast, you may be able to point me in the right direction, my Yeti has infuriated me over the two years I have owned it. I keep getting air in the clutch system. No sign of brake fluid leaks anywhere - the resevoir serves the brakes and the clutch, with the take off for the clutch above the take off for the brakes, so the clutch would be the first to run dry. It has been back and forth to my local garage numerous times and has had a new clutch and dual mass flywheel, new master cylinder, new slave cylinder etc, and the garage has run out of any ideas as to what is causing the air to enter the clutch system. I've searched all the blog sites I can think of, and cannot find any threads to suggest there's a common problem on these cars. It's noteworthy that this problem tends to appear if I have dirven the car hard for any ammount of time. I love this car, and would like to keep it now I've retired, but it's just proving to be so dammed unreliable - I never know when I go to drive it if I'll find the clutch pedal down on the floor. I'm thinking maybe my 2009 635d will be the better option - it's more expensive to run, but has never let me down. Any suggestions? Maybe someone reading this could offer a solution.
This channel so good mate 👌
Cambelt is on borrowed time. But other than that it seems a really good car
Excellent idea. Perhaps a Mini Cooper S would be a good one.
M Y Daily is my 1999 BMWE38 lush mint but im bored with it ,Ive been offerd a Q3 in bronze 20TDI 60,000 one owner 6 speed manual £8000 im not sure .
I'd say a v.good business idea of yours to do these. Hopefully you make a quid that will fund your car obsession :D
The write-off is nothing do with the repair costs. It is because of potential repair TIME and a thing called "credit hire". Credit Hire is where the owner of the not-at-fault damaged car can hire a replacement car of a similar type for the entire time his car is off the road and add it to his claim. Credit Hire rates are MUCH higher than the spot rates you would pay. All it needs is for a part to be on "back order" and repair time can stretch to many weeks. Repairers are often in a relationship with the Credit Hire provider and they have every incentive to delay repairs as much as possible. BUT...once a car is officially wriiten off, Credit Hire must STOP so its much cheaper to just pay for a replacement car quickly and sell the "salvage" to people like you. There have been court cases where the Credit Hire bill has been £70,000!

They should change it, for a car to get written off because a part may not be available is unfair . Not only do the insurance company lose out but so does the car. They should maybe consider the claim a total loss and pay out, but not write the car off unless the cars truly not worth repairing. Surely the insurance company would benefit from that as they will get more at auction once sold.

Old dry rotted tires are very dangerous, they can lead to a blowout and the rubber is hard and does not stick/ adhere to the road anymore in any weather condition put 4 decent brand tires under the car it transforms the driving and the safety of everyone on the road.
Excellent..FS..forsale ,I thought it was a ruud word brother?🙈🤔😮🤔

I’d say the costs would be more like over 1k as the cam belt and 4 tyres are in need of a change and in my neck of the woods a quality wing spray is a few hundred quid to match Audi paintwork. You don’t reveal what you paid for the car so is this new format simply a sales markup exercise ? If you are keen on a Copart vehicle , you can inspect the car over WhatsApp for £10 and I found this to be a a excellent service but a risk of the unknown is always there. Your appraisal is great but at what markup? Remember cat N stays with the car forever and will reduce its value for ever too.
