I ran a cabover for probably 20 years anytime those inspectors wanted me to raise a cab so they can look at my brakes I told them to go get their creepers. You don't have to do anything to help them if you don't want to.

Yes Kyle, video's on the drop deck please... I make video's as well and it does get tough some weeks but, we find a way. HOOAH!!! BTW, good level 1, not too bad on the dings, and that is saying something about your rig. Truck that old is always going to be looked at, everyone.

I'll vote for videos on the scissor neck. I've never even seen one before so it would be interesting to see how it works. Thanks for the videos.

Sound like the inspection was thorough, but fair, particularly as the inspector had to be seen to be doing things to the book. The trailer looks like an excellent buy especially if you can line up plenty of the right sort of work for it. FSC Steve's trailer is a 50' one and it is always working.

My buddy sent me that off of Facebook marketplace that same trailer that's cool you bought it was a hell of a deal

Just came across your video and i can tell after running my cabover Kenworth for 36 years now that if you refuse to raise the cab and tell them to get a creeper as some would suggest all your doing is pissing off the inspector and your inspection is going to yield more nuisance violations i dont know why any professional driver would not try to get along with the inspector as as the odea is to make your stay at the scale house as short as possible plus a true level one some will want to see the belts and check for leaks so do what you gotta do within reason to get down the road plus wouldnt you want to know if there was anything wrong with your bread and butter truck? You dont want to be that guy that causes a disaster because something was overlooked.

I used to drive cabin overs,actually like them better than conventionals. Never had an officer ask me jack up the cab tho. I probably would have if asked to but like you said that puts you in an awkward spot. How long is that lowboy? It looks awfully short would be great for getting around sub divisions under construction tho. Out of curiosity does it require you to add a hydraulic pump to make it work? Looks like some new flooring and maybe some new lights and she’ll be good to go. You’re going to have to build a yard to keep your trailers in.

The lowboy has an 18’ well, so it might be like 30’-35’ total. It’s not hydraulic, it’s meant to be used on a winch truck but I’m gonna try to convert it by adding a couple hydraulic cylinders and a pony motor

I see a lot of guys that simply abuse there transmissions. I don't know if that is the case here but because they are so concerned about the almighty dollar they run as hard as they can and then ruin there tranny's.

that lo boy can be good for you. two trailers better than one. lower biger loads more cash. keep your head up.
