Vicki, I’m using the cane too. It’s better to have it than not to have it.

Those are awesome. Is yours tall enough to rest your forearms as you walk? Does it have a pull down seat? Has it helped you be able to participate more rather than being left out of the fun? I often need a place to sit when in stores, usually can't find one so go to the car, at least over the past 3 months and during flares. Ive consitered getting one for going on longer outtings to places like the zoo with grandkids or visiting places that require walking a few blocks around a tourist town or a mild hike with family to give me more participation. They seem expensive though worth it I'm sure.

@@livingwithsjogrensdisease1550 this walker has saved me literally, lol I can’t stand for long either, I was diagnosed in 2015, it’s been one problem after the other my dear, I too was in the medical field and now I am on the other side of the stick, flare’s and all kind of stuff, wish I can talk to you in person, it seems we have a lot in common…..

I think so too. Perhaps a live visit with any who would like to participate or a meeting place over computer or phone like folks did in early covid. Can't remember what the app is called. But that would allow participants to see oneanother if they'd like. Perhaps there could be topic that we all can comment on. I'll look into the options and appreciate ideas, info,, interest etc. 💜💙🩵

Carollopez, thank you for sharing your story. It's definately a personal choice to or not to take meds. You are using your wisdom & doing what seems best for you. 👏 Plaquinil became toxic to my eyes seen by opthamologest on eye testing about 2 years ago. It was very early damage to cells & not visible on just dilation & light inspection. My opthamologest immediately had me stop plaquinill & no progression. Yay. One thing that's helped me lots has been major dietary change. I fell off the antiinflammatory diet some over summer & boy o boy I've been paying for it so back at it with renewed devotion. I hope doc looks into what is causing your pain so to find helpful effective therapies. Story: My knees hurt too. About 2010/2011 began having left knee pain with going down stairs at work but no pain going up. PCP noted swelling around left knee, did xray. She said too that pain only going down was a cue to petellofemoral pain syndrome, diagnosed post xray. She explained the outter thigh is stronger than inner thigh so outter thigh pulls on knee cap on steping down, injuring under knee cap. She prescribed PT..it got some better but never fully resolved. Unfortunately with fatigue & other muscle pains adequate exercise isn't always doable for people, or me, to keep knees stable & from acting up. So a cane will help me I'm sure. 💜💙🩵
