First Cuts On the Homemade Bandsaw Mill
I woke up this morning really excited to try my sawmill for the first time but very anxious to know if it was going to work. Myself and dot towed it up to the wood pile and made out first 5x5 post and a load of slabs for the top workshop. next week i will be milling timber all week for the greenhouse.
Enjoy

I'm not much of a 'handyman' type, but I find all your videos immensely engrossing and I also find your personal manner very calming and relaxing. I'm especially looking forward to seeing that handsome greenhouse finished, but there's always something interesting whatever it is. Thank you very much for all your effort in making your life accessible to us.

I think diesel engines for this use are not the issue with fossil fuel usage in the world today and nor will they ever be. We all know where the real issue with fossil fuels are. I'm sure he mentioned some veg oil getting used though....either way I think the engine is a fine choice :)

@@naiknieh This, my neighbour has a 60x40 shed with approximately 10-15 conical piles 10ft high of random metal parts, boat parts, tractor parks, Alaskan mill parts, chainsaw parts, honestly any time I encounter a 40-50 year old piece of machinery with a broken part that no one makes anymore I go there and usually find it, covered in rust of course, but enough to be able to rebuild the part and have it work properly again. He's an older man, raised poor during the depression, doesn't throw a damn thing away.

You truly are one of the most amazing and intelligent humans on the planet. For sure..great job!!! Thank you for sharing it!! You honor the trees in all you do, and it's beautiful to see. Thank you Kris.
Glad to see someone else does their thinking and problem solving at 2am while staring at the ceiling
It doesn't matter how much it costs - what matters is taking some vision that is in your head and making it real. All admiration Kris.
The comments say it better than me. All I can say is RESPECT ✊🏻 thanks for letting us lesser mortals follow your skill.
Woohoo ! I think my smile was nearly as big as yours when you gave the thumbs up Kris.
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude! When tech is sufficiently advanced, it is indistinguishable from magic. You have committed advanced magic!!!

Me after four years of waiting for the Snyder cut 🍴, hold on Kris is cutting wood, priorities!!! Just brilliant!!!!!
@Kris... Oh my gosh! You are absolutely freaking me out! You built this yourself , wenching logs on it and all! Get out of town! I'm a 54 year old woman , laying in bed , in Tennessee USA , 9pm. And watching with my jaw dropped in amazement. Where did you come from Kris? You are an old soul in a young body. This is awesome! You should be so proud of yourself!
Not often i come to the end of a video on KZread, and I find myself just sitting there smiling. Great Job and looking forward to many more videos like this one.
Spectacular!
I’ll bet you were grinning ear to ear when it all came together and worked!! 😁
Well done kris. you can see how proud and happy, you are. What a product to build, and the enjoyment, you will get from using it. Unbelievable talent.

Brilliant... Well done Kris!
Only Kris Harbour can by solving a spacing issue. using railway sleepers, turn an industrial saw mill, into the deck of a super yacht. Lovely stuff Kris. looking forward to seeing what you make now you have this beast at your disposal.
The bucket and welly are surprisingly effective at catching sawdust!

16:55 a nice almost-full bin of sawdust... no build-up on the ground as one would typically see with a mill like this. Top notch for sure!
Dear Kris Harbour. 👍👌👏 Absolutely fantastic! Even more because you painted it British racing green! ;-) I love nearly everything that is green. By the way: A just realized that your excavator, van and post hammer device are green too. All you have to do now is paint the tractor green. ;-) Congratulations! With a few modifications you will be even more happy with the result. That sawmill is another big project you can be very proud of, no doubt about that! I'm really grateful that we didn't have to wait to see it cutting until next weeks video release. As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.
Great job with this 👏 👍
Dude, that grin at 12:28! I hope you realize how many people's day you made with that!
WONDERFUL!! I'm as pleased as if I'd done it myself! I can't stop grinning!
You are indeed a very talented man! You are inventive, thinking in solutions. I’am very proud to be an Parteon!
After the emotion in your voice when you lost the wind turbine it's great to see you happy and proud again, great job with the Mill it's amazing.
Just one other thing... here is an amazing piece of technology complete with a welly and a bucket!
You deserve to be seriously pleased with yourself. I could watch you doing that all day. Well done.
Really like the sawdust catch bucket. Keeping a clean workspace at it best.
3:56 There you have it folks: The emergence of the Harbour Panzer Green Theme... Congrats Kris, well done !
I could have spent four grand , worked flat out for six months , not slept for a year and worried till I died and still wouldn’t have anything that resembled a saw mill , let alone anything that actually cut wood ...brilliant ..
Hmmm, now to implement and automatic feed! Very nice build!
You look chuffed to bits and so you should be! Excellent stuff. We're chuffed to bits for you! That look of glee on your face is priceless. A job well done is very satisfying.
Your life is inspiring and you are really talented 👍🏼
" Don't you just love it when a plan comes together.." ; Well done Kris I bet you are chuffed with that result.
Simply Awesome Kris . The smile on your face says it all. I am sure this machine will serve you well. Cheers Ade.

Congratulations Kris. Incredible achievement.
Massive success Kris, congratulations
I was a welder/ fabricator for over 40 years and from watching the video I think that you done a fine job here 👍
Great job ! Don't worry about complainers , It works and that's what count's in the end. Liked, shared. All my very best.
It's either time or money. Spending time allows you to build exactly what you want. No greater feeling then building something and having it work first go. Saw mill looks like it's going to work perfect! Nice job.
I've watched you make some amazing things on this channel and this is right up there with them. What a useful piece of kit. Brilliant to see it make it's first cut. Keep that first slab, sign it and put it up on the workshop wall. It will make your heart happy every time you see it, especially as you get older. Well done Kris.
Is there anything this guy can’t build?! Bravo Kris.
Your channel is the only one I always follow, since you built your first roundhouse. Entertaining and relaxing. Just great.
Nothing gives me more pleasure on KZread than watching you with your endless skills. So impressive I don’t know where to start. Is there a Kris Harbour fan club ?? Keep doing what you do 👍👍👍
The bandsaw mill turned out great Kris. You have every reason to be proud. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love to see the smile on your face when your ideas come to life! Great job as usual

12:29. That smile tells it all. Thanks for sharing your work Kris. Best wishes from 🇮🇪
Well done Kris, you can hear the pride in your voice.... Another Barnes Wallace moment :-)
Blows me away how much you and Dot are able to build and get done. So many cool projects and now a working sawmill, awesome!
That's an interesting digger in the background. It would be interesting to see a 'will it run?' sort of video about it, if you plan to restore it.

Fantastic, the start of all your future woodprojects. That smile says it all. Great job.
It's amazing how this project came together. At first I had no understanding of what you wanted to build. Totally love it!
Wonderful stuff. The look on your face at the end their, beaming with pride, is priceless.
Fantastic Kris - you must be so pleased after so many hours of design and construction.
An old-welly! What a brilliant idea!!!!
That's a build to be proud of!
Self sufficiency at it's finest, nicely done Chris. Enjoy your fruits of your labor 💪🤩👍
I can tell by the smile on your face you enjoy your work, your very good at it, I enjoy your video`s very much.
How exciting! Like many talented, creative people, you underestimate your skills. They may be God given, but they're still talents that many of us do not have. Congratulations, Kris.
Well done, Kris. You have my total admiration. Keep up the great work!
Glad to see how Kris is happy with his sawmill made by his hands from scratch! Great!
Hi 👋🏻 Kris. Your face is an absolute picture full of excitement 😊 Glad Dot was watching you too 🤩
Justified to be over the moon . Wonderful and inventive . Well done 👍
You did an awesome job mate! I bet you are proud, and rightfully so!
I'm glad to see you so proud of your work, you should be! Really impressive work, well done.
At the end of the video when you sit on the mill your smile said it all. You didn't even need to explain.... :)
'OUT OF THE WOODS', YT is a perfect channel for you to watch. Nathan, is a mine of information on everything saw milling.
You are really one if the most inspiring people on youtube! Well done!
your positivity and joy radiate from this video, incredible achievement, hope you had a cider to celebrate. Don't be using it for a haircut mind! lol
You're joy about the project is clear Kris. Nice job.
Love to see the final result and a happy man......thanks for showing this project.
Been waiting for this. Awesome work!
What an absolutely outstanding achievement! Congratulations!
What a great sight when you stick your thumb up.......all the hours you've put into a project like this, is summed up with that simple gesture. I felt your sense of elation and pride, and by God you should feel proud. What you've achieved and keep on achieving is something we all could take notice of. You must have Amish genes in you somewhere.
I think what I like about your videos is they are so calm, no stupid music, no swearing almost always, you are so confident in what you are doing, seeing Dot now and then always helps as she too is always calm and confident if a little camera shy, always enjoyable and always look forward to the next one, I would only ask that you don't cut out so much so they are longer.
A push bar across the carriage so you are getting even pressure on the carriage would help.
The first cut is the deepest .... deepest joy! Well done Kris!!! ❤️

I could never build something like that. I hope you had a tall glass of cider when you got home because you earned it.
I could say that I'm impressed, but I have watched you long enough to know that when you decide to do something it's going to be perfect. This is no exception. Thanks for sharing your talents my friend. God bless you.
Man, you look soooo happy at the end of this clip. I hope youll remember that moment, some other time when things are a bit dull or hard. The things you do are so valid, it always cheers me up to follow.
