Wonderful Yogyakarta...it is the city that my wife (Henny) comes from. We married there 18 years ago and live in Nottingham,England, We will be back in Jogja in August to visit friends and family after spending a few days in Bali. We really miss Indonesia and can't wait to go back there. Have a great time in Asia. God bless and protect you both Max & Kim.

Its just executive class, we have luxury class as best class from KAI with Argo Bromo Anggrek Locomotive name

You have to try Luxury Class, It's really Nice for Sleeping on Train

Hope you enjoyed the ride to Yogyakarta. One thing, though. Eksekutif is not really what you call first class. They have 5 classes there in Java, Eksekutif being the third one. Ekonomi is the fifth and the lowest.

Thanks for the info Ari! we heard there was a sleeper train which was meant to be nicer but it wasn't available for the route we took :) we would love to try the luxury class aswell!

Hai guys, its me again. Yup. Just want to told you guys, to visits : 1. Borobudur ( the biggest buddist temple in the world) 2. Prambanan ( its a hindu temple) 3. Boko palace ( near prambanan) 4. Yogyakarta palace 5. The famous malioboro street 6. Parangtritis beach 7. Mount merapi ( the most active volcano in the world) 8. Sand dune near parangtritis ( only 3 in the world) 9. The lost world near kaliurang 10. Afandi museum ( ones of indonesian maestro in painting) 11. You must try eat Gudeg ( i recommend yu jum gudeg) 12. You must try mangut lele mbah marto ( food ranger channel give it 10 its mean perfect, you can check it youtube for food ranger channel) 13. Chicken curch in outside yogyakarta 14. You must try bakpia patok 25 15. You must try angkringan ( its like javanese traditional street food ) 16. You must try mang engking ( its sundanese food) 17. Yogyakarta zoo 18. Etc

Looks pretty good.... Might have to check it out when there next.... I am due back in July, might get 2 days free to have a look... (I can only do about 12 days at a time due to work..so lots of flights back and forth lol).

Just for the information, in Indonesia we got several passenger train class in operation 1. Luxury Sleeper Class 2. Priority Class 3. Executive Argo (Slightly faster executive express train) 4. Executive 5. Business (Almost phased out) 6. Premium Economy 7. Economy For the last couple of years, all class have air conditioned cabin. So basically the class classification is just like on the airplane, with certain exception

So many places we can visit around yogya. Cultural and archeological sites are around us.

it is not first class but executive, above that there are priority classes like first class cars with AVOD, free food & drinks only a few routes, and sleeping trains that only exist in Argo anggrek Jakarta - Surabaya

You can get cheaper food and also delicious, i realy like bakmi jowo (java noodle), all menu in "angkringan". you can go to the temple arround yogyakarta, and local market.. have fun in yogya
