I won’t lie, there is only ONE question that I’d give ANYTHING for her to answer regarding her Dad. And that’s just her feelings toward the songs about her, Hailie’s Song, Mockingbird, Castle and even My Dad’s Gone Crazy which she did the chorus. That be it.

Hailie I can understand how you feel about questions regarding your dad. But the reality is you're a fascinating person who is the spawn of one of the most legendary people to ever live. Like millions of people I myself am captivated, enamored, and entranced by your family history because of the impact its had on -THE WORLD-. You are a key role in a movement that is still writing history and not just your families history but the history of an entire culture and all of the people that belong to it. Even if it was subtle, since the legend began it has had an omnipotent impact on the future of mankind playing a role in the development of the human species. Also, the growth and development of you, your dad, he and your relationship, and everything it represents is truly one of a kind and a wonderfully positive narrative. Your dad is special, and you will become a legend of a legend with the impact that you yourself will have on the world. But part of that is embracing and knowing that you're a living embodiment of what a scripture is to a religion. Be honored when someone asks about your dad then use that moment to write your own history with your answer. I'm stoked to see how your history unfolds and what you build on your foundation to transform the future like your dad. Much love stay Shady.

She used to bring home tickets of information from each call that she would write on with pencil that would be put into their system. I love the point she makes about questions concerning her father at 23:22 . It cracked me up because it's so true. Y'all may not realize it, but by fixating on her father, you're stripping Hailie of her humanity. She is a real life human being who wasn't just born to offer you insights and tidbits about her dad. I was reluctant to engage these podcasts as an Eminem listener because it weirded me out somewhat. I found myself wondering why I'm watching a celebrity's child. Is it only because their parent is an artist I admire? I will say this, though: This young lady is quite insightful, and I'm just basing my opinion on the things she mentioned in this podcast about technology. It's interesting hearing about society from a younger person's perspective. I don't think I need to hear anything from her about her father, upbringing, or lifestyle outside of what she freely wishes to share. She has her own unique voice and I'm here for it.

Who gives a shit. Maybe don't name your Podcast that your dumping the majority of your time into after your father. Especially if you have inherited-fame phobia. She wants to complain about getting questioned about her father, yet will gladly relish in the benefits from it. Girl will never have to lift a finger in terms of working if she wants to. Still to this day getting paid thousands of dollars from her father's coattails. Sorry that you have to answer repetitive questions about one of the most famous men in the world. I'll gladly take her spot and so would billions of others.

I get that she wants to build her own brand, but that shouldn’t mean staying away from stuff about her dad like she does. The fact is there are thousands, perhaps millions of girls just like her who could talk about college and hobbies. The one thing that makes her stand out from the crowd is she is Eminem’s daughter! Hello?! That’s huge. She should harness that and use it. It’s what makes her unique. Us plebeians, when we are applying for a job or something, always talk about “use the thing that makes you stand out” or “try to show them you’re different from the rest” when doing an interview or resume. She should do that

  • @KLee1028

@@KLee1028 Yeah but it is what makes her stand out whether she wants that or not. There are thousands of women with great personalities but they don't have the benefit of being Eminem's daughter, so they wouldn't stand a chance becoming big podcasters. She should take the leg up that life has given her and lean into it. Talk about childhood memories, breakfast with Eminem etc. etc. That's what people are looking for anyhow or they will probably lose interest. Doesn't have to be all she talks about, but she avoids it and because of that she is avoiding the one thing that sets her apart.

Technology truly is magical. Regarding your voice, it gets encoded from "analog" sound waves into a digital representation that computers can understand "0111010" etc. Computers pass your message over the internet (which is a series of connected networks, from your phone -> home router -> ISP -> external internet -> their router -> their phone), and at the final hop it typically gets converted back into sound waves. It's fascinating how it works, especially when you look into lossy audio formats and Fast Fourier transforms applied to audio. Interestingly if you remember dial up internet connections, you could hear the modems connecting as physical sound. I loved the point of growing up in a time where people learned to adapt to technology as it progressed. Technology is exponentially changing, and it's rapidly getting more and more advanced. At the end of the day, while technology feels magical it is just physics and human inventions. No one understands how every bit of technology functions, but if we make technology modular and connected we can progress humanity forward. Loved the pod, interesting topics for sure!

EXCELLENT shady stories this week. Holy crap, each one got better. That mother daughter combo the best so far, easily 15/10. I hope you do more than 1 question for your ask me anything segment. One's not enough, it feels a bit pointless like that. In terms of handling your dad queations, i think you're doing a great job of letting your own personality come through, and that will grow (you're only starting out right now. We've known OF you, but not known YOU). But questions and curiosity about him are to be expected. I view it as, anything thats personal or prying into him, HE will decide whether that becomes public knowledge or not (theres probably a lot he wants to keep private and protected for himself so he gets to decide how much to share with that kind of thing) But anything that is about YOUR experience, YOUR understanding or not understanding, your likes dislikes or how you viewed things or events.....thats fair game. Your life will naturally have those differences, and they are your experiences to talk about, so i think its fair to ask about.

So, this will be a very basic rundown of the whole cell phone thing. I do computer work for a living, but all you really NEED to know is this: When you talk into the microphone (either on the phone or on the podcast) the sound waves that your voice makes get picked up and converted into a digital signal in most cases. There are some edge cases where the signal stays analog (mainly used in studios, idk what kind of mic you're using, but some studio mics keep an analog signal while recording that is converted later, as people say it offers better quality) but, for a basic Android or iPhone call it digitizes it. The best way to simplify it is to say that analog signals have a range between 0 and 1, and a digital signal has not range in between, just 0 and 1. That signal is then encoded with some information, like the account making the call, the account receiving the call, and, in some cases, an encryption key. The signal is then transmitted to the tower, from the transceiver on the phone, (or, antenna, in the case of older phones) decoded, information checked, encoded, and sent off to the phone that has the account receiving tag. The processors on the phones (and in the towers) can do all of that in less than a second. Obviously very basic, and if I'm being honest, when it comes to the advanced stuff, like how do they keep increasing bandwidth on the same bands, or even how it is that at one time, there were only like, 10 cell phones max, allowed to be connected to any one tower, it throws me for a loop.
