College Was Weird | Ep. 3

I went to the same college as her, She was a freshman when I was a junior and I kid you not, the amount of snaps I received of her just roaming around living her life was obscene. By the later years She would usually be out with her dog and boyfriend just enjoying life being normal and people would take pictures and record. I don't think She herself realizes how many times She had gotten photographed. Personally, I'm an international student, not that familiar with her dad or celebrity culture that a lot of Americans are obsessed with and it seemed extremely weird. We were once driving on Albert street and a friend of mine in the car just started screaming: OMG, that's EMINEM's DAUGHTER and got her phone out. I felt bad tbh.

I agree with you. That ish is so not cool. She’s just the daughter of a famous person, she isn’t the one that signed up for that her father did; she was just a young girl/is a young woman just trying to live her life. I feel like people should leave the kids of celebs alone, ESPECIALLY when they are underage, and when they aren’t performers in the public eye. It’s not right. 🤷🏼‍♀️

As a fan of Eminem for a long time, his daughter's were put just around the spotlight by him in a toxic way that I do not think he realized. They were almost like the objects that the most famous artist in the world and his ex were fighting over. She's the little girl who buried her murdered mom. They were objectified by the media and their father. I feel bad even talking about them in the comment in their podcast TBH, but I think that is why ppl are obsessed in a unique way with them.

@@Bob-fj7lr Also Eminem is one of those people whose fans can often get really passionate and/or aggressive about it. There's a reason "stan" has become such a common colloquialism it's now being used by people who don't even know the term came from an Eminem song. Francis Bean has enough celebrity just for being Kurt Cobain's kid that she could probably live off that alone, and to your point she wasn't referenced in several of her father's songs.

Our culture of celebrity-worship in the US is a massive problem that we just ignore. Apart from the really cringe-worthy and unfair treatment of celebrities and their families, it's got out of control influence in our politics (one President absolutely wouldn't have been if he hadn't been famous), and to some degree mass shootings are a predictable consequence of troubled kids reasoning that if the best thing you can be in our culture is famous, then maybe the next best thing is to be infamous.

Some people are missing a big deal here. While she may have had an incredibly blessed life, she's had to also go through a ton of things that most people would never have to worry about. Like most people were able to focus on school when they went to college, while she had to go through everyone taking pictures of her, posting things all over the internet etc. She had to wake up at 5am to get ready because she knew people would try to trash her if she dressed like everyone else. I know it's hard to imagine that her life was tough, but think about if your kid was going to school and had to deal with all of that, and she still turned out incredible! Shout out to Halie Jade 🤗

Um sir, you seem confused. You don't know Miss Hailie. Secondly, Hailie was 7 years old in one of them, so you saying you "know" her when she was just a kid is creepy and weird. And lastly, I'm glad Eminem inspired you, but don't be like Stan obsess over somebody you don't know. That's really creepy how you fetishsized Miss Hailie since she was a kid. Now I get why Eminem was hellbent on keeping her out of the spotlight. Because you motherfuckers are weird. Same with the Obamas. You creeps are obsessive and crazy. Get a life, get mental help and talk to friends. Very disturbing how 7 cabrònes liked your comment without reading it fully and comprehending how creepy you are.

What gets me is that you (Hailie) are super strong to create this podcast and having that kind of name. I love that you can just be yourself. PS I love your dad thanks. Keep it up. I’ll be following along

Went and saw your dad in New Zealand in 2014 I think it was. Best concert of my life by my most favourite artist ever. 💕 been listening to him since I was like 10 and couldn’t imagine life without his music in it at some point. So glad I got to see him a once in a lifetime experience for me lol I’ll never forget ,I don’t go to concerts much but for him of course lol , awesome podcast and can’t wait to see more episodes -best thing you could have done . We are here for it 🎉 x

Love this podcast! I live in the Lansing area and almost chose to go to MSU for my major, but ended up choosing a different university. East Lansing is so chaotic! I hate even going past the campus to go to the Meridian Mall😭

Hope you guys have an amazing time at Lolapalooza! It's so true about packing and planning for traveling and packing clothes lol. Also true you normally end up not wearing half of what you packed. Great episode!
