I read an article in The Rolling Stone Magazine that they had picked the ten best acts, singers that have come out during the last decay and First Aid Kit wpould be on that list. Great and well done, considering these girls dont come from US nor Uk but from a country called Sweden

@mediapc4747

It's a nice song but not THAT remarkable that they should write it. The structure and progressions are coutry songwriting 101 and as they knew people who played and listened to a lot of old country music, they've picked up a lot of the cliches like bending their Bs, vocally mimicing slide guitar voicings. I think it just shows how easy it is to write a country song, their more original work is far better and much more interesting.
@charliestricklen7689

Could you please upload a few your easy country songs that are better than this?
@mediapc4747
8 жыл бұрын
ok it's dictionary definition 'remarkable', but not remarkable in the way in which that word is more often used these days. I didn't say it was bad Charlie. My point is that to call it 'remarkable' is patronising. Why shouldn't they write a good song, people wouldn't say it was 'remarkable' if an old guy had written it. We'll know if it's truely remarkable in 40 or 50 years, but for now it's just a really nice, well constructed, catchy as hell, song. oh....you want easy country songs better than this? Without straying too far from the topic I'll start with Folsom Prison Blues... might take a while to look through the next 60years of country music but i think i'll find a few.

I just heard them for the 1st time last week. Great harmonies, voices of angels.
Amazing. I love their music. I'm 60 something and have loved them since one of my kids turned me on to their music 4 or 5 years ago.

I've just recently heard them, and can't get enough! They are GREAT (55 year old here)!!
I just heard this group this morning on "Morning Becomes Eclectic" and I was thinking "That sounds like Emmylou Harris" and then after three youtube videos and a few beers I find this song and it's perfect. They're doing everything right.

Klara and Johanna have remote control of my tear ducts. Damn you, beautiful voiced angels!
Finally realized why that opening verse feels so rooted in older music - it's very Ian Tyson. Love to hear them do "Four Strong WInds".
During this terrible pandemic their music brings me hope - keep safe people

To be fair, these harmonies aren't from Europe, they're true American country folk music. However, I wish the current country music scene still had harmonies like this.
we need more musicians like them. there's barely any left whom's message feels real and meaningful. and those voices! so many beautiful things i could say about them
Absolutely in love with Klara's voice. Johanna's, too! Lovely girls, lovely voices.

They are fantastic, really!
chills just chills, all over Like a ghost singing softly into your ear. How can such young people come up with such deep lyrics? It's gotta be a gift. Teenagrs from Sweden making American Folk as good as or better than anything home grown.(in comparison to what I've heard).

When she sings "like a ghost in my mind" my heart hurt. Just the way she sang "ghost" made me feel lugubrious in a painfully wonderful way.
Boy, these girls can sing! Have a look at 'America' at the Polar Music Prize 2012!
Best video version of this is the version with Emmylou in the audience on Channel 4 (Live, Polar Music price awards show). More affecting, far more emotional, best performance.

Awesome harmonies and Klara looks stunning in this appearance.
First heard these young ladies on Letterman and loved their music, knew they would be a hit, wish them well and long careers. Hope to get to see them perform someday.
Looks like a late 60’s recording. Love it
Loved Gram and Emmylou. Love this.
I love this song because I love Emmylou Harris.
I'm glad they are beginning to record again. A astounding performance on a American stage should have catapulted them to stardom. I have know doubt, if the can gather up the "steam", they will achieve that! As a long time "fan", I hoping for this! Best wishes!
Reminds me of Dawn Trickett and Dawn Graham who introduced me to Gram Parsons when I arrived in all my ignorance of things Saskatchewan! Also love the addition of the wonderful pedal steel guitar to this arrange! First Aid Kit rocks in my opinion!

I meant "arrangement". "arrange" is a "typo".
They're becoming very famous worldwide and they deserve it so much!!
First heard them on the Graham Norton Show January 2018. They are absolutely brilliant. If you could mix Simon and Garfunkel with Emmylou Harris, this is the result. Oh I wish I had followed them from the beginning. They have sold out their UK tour, wish I had a ticket now. They perform at the Polar music awards in Sweden, and both Emmylou and Paul Simon have been up in receipt of their tributes. Amazing talent and pure beautiful voices.

When famous celebrities like Paul Simon, Tom Petty, Keith Urban ,Paul Simon and Neil Young just to mention a few they all say that these girls are really something special they must be. I read an article in The Rolling Stone Magazine that they had picked the ten best acts, singers that have come out during the last decay and First Aid Kit wpould be on that list. Great and well done, considering these girls dont come from US nor Uk but from a country called Sweden
There is some serious musical talent in Sweden...and I don't just mean these young ladies.
Thank you for the music Sweden. Abba, Europe, Roxette, Ace of Base, Robyn, Army of Lovers, Rednex, The Cardigans, First aid kit, Avicii, Swedish House Mafia and all others as text and music writers as Max Martin, Anders Bagge and Tobias Karlsson. Hits for Britney Spears, Madonna, Pet Shop Boys, Back Street Boys and many many others.

Could you please upload a few your easy country songs that are better than this?
@mediapc4747
8 жыл бұрын
ok it's dictionary definition 'remarkable', but not remarkable in the way in which that word is more often used these days.
You are a very nice spring in the desert and among the seasons of our planet❤❤❤

Lyrics : Oh the bitter winds are coming in And I'm already missing the summer Star comes cold but I've been told That I was born to endure this kind of weather And it's you I find like a ghost in my mind I am defeated and I gladly wear the crown I'll be your Emmylou and I'll be your June If you'll be my Gram and my Johnny too No, I'm not asking much of you Just sing little darling, sing with me Now so much I know that things just don't grow If you don't blessed them with your patience And I've been there before I held up the door For every stranger with a promise But I'm holding back, that's the strength that I lack Every morn' keeps returning at my window And it brings me to you and I won't just pass through But I'm not asking for a storm I'll be your Emmylou and I'll be your June If you'll be my Gram and my Johnny too No, I'm not asking much of you Just sing little darling, sing with me And yes I might have lied to you You wouldn't better feel for knowing of the truth I was frightened but I held fast I need you now at long last I'll be your Emmylou and I'll be your June If you'll be my Gram and my Johnny too No, I'm not asking much of you Just sing little darling, sing with me I'll be your Emmylou and I'll be your June If you'll be my Gram and my Johnny too No, I'm not asking much of you Just sing little darling, sing with me Just sing little darling, sing with me
