First 400-pound Deadlift

Спорт

This morning I set a one-rep-max personal record for the deadlift: 405 pounds, which is my first-ever lift over 400 pounds and ranks me at the 72nd percentile among male CrossFitters. This is a wide margin over previous PRs of 365 lb. (May 13th) and 315 lb. (December 2019).

Bro your deadlifts strong, congrats thats not easy to build too! Im only looking out for you, depending on you, you can possibly get lower hips and straighten your back a bit more vertically (bar slightly scraping shins at first), this activates the glutes and hammies more and takes stress off the lower lumbar and extensors, if you want to target extensors do good mornings with much lower weight, for most people the adjustments in deadlift i remarked on will allow you to lift even more weight and it will feel clean(like you just got a back massage)! Again this varies for people, but in general, like for example I'm 6'5" and i go far below parallel with the ground and my femur during deadlift and explode from that stance, also blast the abs more the lower you initiate the dl again taking load away form the extensors.

I just dead lifted for the first time in my life today and lifted 405 lb five times. I've never gone to the gym or done anything like that. Just always had manual labor jobs and have been strong... I wanted to watch a video of somebody else lifting 405 lb to see how big of a deal they make it 😂

Same, but even manual labor I did was pretty insignificant labor. I’m a big dude already, but I just kept adding weight on and hit 400 before the gym closed. I’ll see my max monday

@@studentaccount6811 same. I was doing construction remodeling basements and did that for about a year. I think the only heavy things I really ever cared were 2x4s and drywall 🤷 I've been in an office for the last 6 months though. Being 6'4" and 265 helps for sure
