This song is so iconic. I don't understand the language, but from the video it seems like the guy just wants human connection and romance, but everyone keeps relegating his existence and what he should value to their understanding of what he is (i.e. the friendly gift of a fish in a jar with no interest for anything more). No one is interested in treating him as another being who desires love, respect and equal treatment. They push him towards leaning into being a different being rather than expending the effort to connect. Meanwhile, his inner torment is shattering all the glass jars of water and fish that people think he must value so much since he has gills.

So, breaking glass with sound has more to do with holding a single note of a particular frequency for a good amount of time. I don't remember if it has to be a certain octave, but I do know it has to be held for a while to break glass.

Not the story from the video at all. The story from the video is: Fish man hides gilled neck with red scarf. Fish man finds girl who also likes fish. She also has a red scarf. Fish man hopes she also has gills. Fish man tries to find her. Tries to find out. Even mistakes another girl for her. She comes by with gift fish, but that's not what fish man cares about. He takes off her scarf and notices there are no gills hidden under that same scarf he uses. Fish man, who for once had hope he was not alone in the world, that he had found another fish person, is destroyed by those hopes being dashed to the ground. Thats the story. It's less about love and more about loneliness and rejection.

How is this not super surprising? That pitch is way outside of a normal man's range. Vitas is 100% a male soprano, which you perhaps may not be aware is a female vocal category. I was a male soprano until I hit puberty and my voice dropped very significantly. Went from male soprano to tenor/baritone over the summer of 1999.

@@flamerollerx01 I believe Vitas is actually in the 5th or near the 5th octave. he's also very good at hitting the whistle registry for a man which is very very uncommon. it's more common to see in women hence someone like Ariana grande or Mariah carrey being able to get to that high whistle registry. it's beyond impressive to see when people manage, if it weren't more singers would. do correct me if i'm wrong on anything of course i'm always for getting new information on these things

I like the original over Dimash because I like the tamber of Vitas. I know he lip syncs a lot and whatever (and anyone who disagrees is a fucking moron) but he has sung live. I like the coldness of his performance as compared to Dimash.
