I'll just stick with my trusty froe, and much faster way of getting kindling. To each his own.

This was my 1st video using this tool and was not used to it. Once you get the hang of it it's pretty fast...much faster than using a froe, but it's what works best for you.

Wonder if you could add a piece of box section maybe about 9" long horizontal at he bottom so it can be used for the longer pieces . Likely need tapping for screws as guess its a casting.

Possibly...I don't mind cutting the pine to 12" This thing works well. Gets the pieces small and can split them fast. Happy with it so far.

I think I'd be going with a tomahawk or axe rather than that. It seems somewhat slow and clumsy for what you can do with it.

I use my axe to get the small pieces, then this for the small kindling. This was my 1st go with this. It's definitely faster when not making a video.

Seems like that size might have been geared to Europe as there stoves take shorter length wood

I think it's geared for kindling. I like my kindling smaller like fatwood starter. I don't mind cutting up pine and cedar to 10"-12" inch to make kindling. It's worked great so far.
