I think I was around 9 or so loved it too when I was a kid dad took me, we went to the drive in movie there was still some of them back then lol funny thing it's still there the silver moon in Lakeland FL

I was a Firefox nut. This came out when I was a senior in high school and a wannabe fighter pilot. The pilot thing didn’t happen. But I saw this movie 3 times in the theater and I bought the paperback by Craig Thomas. When I went to college I found the Firefox video game, which ate quite a few quarters from me. Then I got the sequel “Firefox Down.” It was a good read and I hoped for Clint to do a Firefox Down movie. I was a silly kid and didn’t know the the movie was not a hit, I saw it and loved it. Oh and I never liked Tom Clancy, Craig Thomas was the man for me!

@@Chopperwocky Yea I read that it got like 47 million on a 21 million dollar budget. Not bad. But I still count it as “not a hit” because nobody ever mentions it with Mr Eastwood’s other work. But that is just me, I know technically it was a hit. At least you, me, and the late Craig Thomas liked it fine. On a semi related note. When the US brought out the F22 stealth fighter in the early 90s I had an idea for a Firefox in reverse. A traitor American pilot tries to steal our best plane.

I saw this movie when I was 15. And It inspired me to build the Ryan-Erickson Aerospace's Starfox-1. In my sci-fi book. which has a top speed of Mach 15. I would not be surprised if the real "Firefox" flies in 5 to 6 years from now

This is fantastic although I do prefer Gant speaking Russian to fire the missiles at the chopper. The techno John Carpenter-esque score though? A+

If you wanna record it from the tube yourself that's fine but I'm not planning to release it seperately, without the video and sound fx's I mean. Yeah. The music is mine. Some of the sound FXs, crashes, weapons etc. are stock material but still heavily edited and reworked.

No, that was not my aim. M. Jarre's score is great and he's a legend. I love the Witness (1985) -score also. I read somewhere that he was not pleased with the score in this movie. He didn't want to do a soundtrack release and the original score has been destroyed. Don't know if that's true. Eastwood and Jarre never worked together again. My goal was to do a short Re-sound version with all the original music and sound fx gone. We have the original version already, this version is just for fun guys. Alternative. Thanx for the comment, nevertheless.

@@kempmt1 no, I don't think so. Stealth is more important today than speed. Also tech in general, radar and enemy tracking and so on.
