Thanks for the great info Joey! Going to upgrade and restore my rusted out 10" fiberglass pit. They said it was stainless but turned to a pile of rust after only 2 seasons of use.

Any tips if a leakage happens where the air mixer connects to the burner?

Most likely if you are getting a leakage in the air mixer it is back flow and gas is coming out of the air intake holes. This will happen if there is a harsh turn or 90° elbow immediately after the air mixer. If the pressurized gas from the air mixer hits an elbow right after the air mixer you will have turbulence in the gas and some will flow out of the intake holes. We strongly recommend leaving the female fitting (if yours comes with one) on the air mixer to provide space between the air mixer itself and the burner connections. 2" or so between the air mixer and any harsh bends or 90° elbows should prevent turbulence.

@@celestialfireglass I see now see why I was supposed to leave the female fitting. The bottom of my pan lit up on fire today due to a leak and it was too close to the pan. Luckily I watched it happen.
