A Dark Fall is still cool. Just not as cool and metal as Even If I Fall Into Darkness, which is kinda a mouthful.

Whereas Alight sounds heroic, perfectly encapsulating the feeling of invading your dreaded enemy, but knowing you will prevail if you fight your hardest, this song is more so giving the feeling of Hoshido taking a last stand against an enemy they know they can’t beat. At first, I always thought this song didn’t really fit the feeling of victory as well as Alight did, but now I realize that’s because 1. the victory in this scenario isn’t as joyful as it is Birthright, and 2. the song isn’t encapsulating YOUR feelings as you invade, but Hoshido’s feelings of sensing the Nohrian army slowly creeping their way through the castle, winning the war with the ease of cutting through butter with a hot knife.

Well said, finally an analysis of the theme music. But I prefer Alight and is better imo, I like the heroic feeling of that music and a mix of traditional music in an upbeat tone.

You can also interpret it as Corrin feeling awful for what they both have to do. They know they must do this to expose the truth about Garon but they'll be demonized and hated by the people of Hoshido for it. The path to hell is paved with good intentions as the saying goes.

Unless you’re playing Revelations. Then ‘A Dark Fall’ feels more cathartic and heroic as Xander, Leo and the Chump Brigade, all once enemies of your army, charges in with you, killing many Knights, Cavaliers, Generals, Great Knights, Paladins and more.

Xander- “For the glory of NOHR!” Camilla- “ say Goodnight!!” Leo- “you can’t hide from me!” Elise- “your going DOWN SCUMBAG!!!”

This song makes me think of dragons closing in on a burning castle, aiming to finish it off as its inhabitants fruitlessly fight for their lives.

Between Celica map 2 and Chasing Daybreak, it feels like fe's trying to emulate what this theme did, but never truly matched it. God this theme is awesome.

the takumi one is pretty straight forward, avoid his ballista and there is just one ambush near the 4 forts near the gate. But sometimes the ambush doesn't happen if you have 4 of your units on the fort and advance. Hinoka's map is really tough on lunatic with the amount of constant fliers spawning and surrounding you. And they have bonus movement from Hinoka's dragon vein@@powpowouchy5

​@@powpowouchy5Hinoka's troops some of the most aggressive enemies in Fire Emblem history and with her Dragon Vein it can be extremely daunting to deal with the pressure of her units constantly, especially since this map has some of the fastest units in play which makes it very hard to one-round her troops. Takumi I agree is a much more difficult map in most aspects, but because his troops use their advantages defensively, it is much easier to plan your offensive accordingly. Takumi's map doesn't punish you for playing slowly like Hinoka's does which I would argue opens up more avenues for resets barring RNG.

Ah besides in conquest just the fact that this plays in the revelations chapter after IMMEDIATELY getting Ryoma was probably the only reason why I really liked revelations since they absolutely killed the chapter with getting Xander, Leo and their respective retainers

I think the fates music is the best in the franchise, despite the lackluster story.

God it is a shame that Conquest's plot is just- so stupid, it could've been so good man, but I literally can't play this route because I feel too bad for the Hoshidans.

Shout-out to my stat blessed Effie in my first Conquest run. I literally would not have been able to scale the Great Wall of Hoshido without you. 🫡
