Here In the UK we have to live or work within 4 min of the station, we must respond under normal traffic conditions. This is the same when I'm doing a medical run as a first responder

buzman1985 halogens are better cause they project, LEDs may be brighter looking into them but a vehicle in front of you is going to see the halogens off the buildings in front of you unlike LEDs. LEDs are good for perimeter lights but for a lightbar I’d have to go for the good old Rotating lightbars (Code 3 MX7000s are the best)

I love seeing rotator dash lights still being used. In my state you cant run a siren so running just a little rotator will just piss you off because no one will move for you. I have me a Whelen red/white dual Avenger and it takes care of the job well!

I have since bought a fire beam 3 with the ultra flash and have it in my new car we aren't allowed sirens here in Illinois but I have no problem moving traffic with just that

oldest trick in the book turn your pov lights off right before you get to scene so it don't look like you ran code 3 to the call....haha

Not in all states unfortunately. New York state volunteers may use blue courtesy lights with no sirens whatsoever. Motorists do not have to pull over for them and all volunteers must obey all traffics instruments. It should be nation wide lights and sirens with discretion. Volunteers arent driving around doing chores with lights and sirens. Some actually fear and obey the law.

Yeah its a law in KY. Im a believe all vol fire should use red and sirens. I live in a less populated area and state and get to use it. My buddy's in jersey? Just blue no siren have to stop and stay at lights

In Germany and in the Netherlands, we don't have to drive 15 minutes to the station.In the Netherlands we must be on scene (with firetruck) within 15 minutes that the pagers rings. So everybody that is a voluntary does need to live and work within a few minutes from the station.

Depends on jurisdiction. Many have areas where a trip across town could take 20 minutes or so, so running code really bumps it up. I run two places, one involving highway traffic that almost always backs up (chops easily ten minutes off of response time running code), the other quite the opposite, hardly anyone around to move over anyways.

Here in new Jersey, we are not allowed to have sirens. But we can have 2 blue lights in the front. Not so sure about having an airhorn.

hey, nice vids. i am a volunteer firefighter from the netherlands. if we get a call we have to drive just normal to the station and get in the firetruck and then go code 3 to scene. also we need to be in just 3 minutes on the station. what state you from?

Here in eastern Ontario Canada we use green lights I believe .. and no one would move for them so the city started putting signs up saying "yield to flashing green light" seems to help. Anyways great video haha.

Here in Ontario its only a courtesy light you don't have to move over for them, volunteers must obey all traffic laws ! I do move over tho most do but its not a law ! Some volunteers use their lights to make it to the beer store before it closes seen this happen more then once !!

Love the rotators over LEDs. My fave is the Twinsonic Model 12. Don't get me wrong, if you like your little Christmas tree blinkies, thats your call. I have the SVP 1166 tear drop my father had when he was a vff and if I ever get the chance to join a vol department, I would gladly put it back in service.

I recently got a Teardrop light for my birthday and unfortunately I've only used it two and a half times (half cuz when I tried using it a third time it wouldn't rotate) I hope that when I get old enough to drive I get to use it more often! For now it's just collecting dust atop my fridge.

I came from the next town over. I was a bit far out and I couldnt hear how many people were responding but atleast i went. I was a bit out. Barely beat the ambulance

You want confusing Radio traffic try "Valid Negative" as in he has a valid drivers license and no wants or warrants! For like 2 years I thought the police were letting unlicensed drivers off with a warning🤣

LMAO,...driver never rolled, but did drive into a ditch!!! Seems like you only needed a tow truck!!! That's like calling 9-1-1 and saying you were just robbed at gun point and need the police just so you would get a faster response,...when actually somebody just busted the window in your car and stole a bag of groceries!!!
