This is starting to become one of my all time favorites. It's hard to come up with a description because I feel like the song speaks for itself in the most organic way. I hope you enjoy my take on this James Taylor classic.

Stumbled on your porch fest "Sweet Child o' Mine" from when you were like 12, and that was awesome (the singer was almost as good as you), and now I'm wandering through your stuff. You're fantastic. Can't wait to buy a ticket to see you play somewhere, someday.

Same here. Born in 65’. Thanks Stratton.
I watch the Grammys and just get depressed for the current state of music. Then I find this kid and my faith is restored. Stratton, you are the future.
It’s a good day when the KZread algorithm suggests a great musician like you Stratton. Thanks for sharing your music and making my day better.

Stratton, your playing and singing reaches right through me and touches my soul. Very well done performance.
JTis the man and you did a wonderful job, made this 62 year old woman cry !!!!!Love this!!!
Made the day for this 65 year old....brings back the best of times. And you did it really really well. JT would be so proud.
James Taylor is very proud. You did him right!
I told you this was an emotional song my friend. You brought me to tears, thanks for doing this beautiful song. Wonderful job Stratton.
Oh my, I bet your parents are so proud. Beautiful song!!
Great song and beautiful cover. I'd love to see you do more from this era. Makes me so happy when young people have open minds to "old stuff".
As someone from that generation I think you did an amazing job!!❤️
Every once in a while you have to stop and just appreciate real talent...talent that could bring you to tears ....you put feeling into a song that is owed it everytime it's played...thank you

Wow. You said it so well! Nicely done.
This is my all time favourite song and I love James Taylor, but you absolutely smashed it. Brilliant emotion and feel to the song, and I imagine James Taylor would definitely approve.
Hey Stratton!! This cover is incredible!! You did an Amazing job. Very Impressive my friend! James Taylor has always been a favorite of mine.
Today I love the algorithm. I only get fantastic, like your Chanel, recommended today
I swear, songs that I never listened to twice, you have made them beautiful. I’m going to get my higher up the food chain buddies and I’m going to sit down and we are going to listen…. And omg I can’t believe I I’m listening to songs I have always not liked ✌🏻
As another who accidentally stumbled here from that sweet child video, I'm glad I dug deeper. Kid can obviously play but who knew he could sing even better?? 😳
ah yes know the meaning of this song, remembering it from the 70s. James I'm sure would love this
Just more of your versatility and growth Stratton. Gonna find as many love the hard rock solos you perform there's also an audience that can respect the slower technical, emotional , and heartfelt you can bring as well. Well done
Aaaww ❤️💙💙💙lovely deep song 🎸🎶🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶
Who knew? A great guitar 🎸 player with a fabulous voice 🎤🎵. 👍☮️🌞🎸🪬

Wow! What a great cover of one of my favorite songs. You have a beautiful voice!
well done Stratt' - you rock, buddy! You sing it slightly different, and at first I thought this was cuz some of the notes were maybe too high for ya, but that is not the case. You made your own version, and it is beautiful, precious and moving. Keep going, buddy!!
Awesome playing and singing Stratton. I started with your your GNR cover and now to this…I gotta say, “guitar is your thing dude”! Nice
You are really upping your game on the vocals, nice work!
Absolutely beautiful! I loved the way you made the song yours.
Never stop playing. You just have a way where the music just comes naturally.
Keep being who you are. There's a place for you.
Absolutely beautiful
Very good cover of a classic. It's one of my favorite songs too.
You are just as gifted as one of my partners former students she taught in high school 13 years ago. He was also slaying the guitar and became a music teacher in a high school but still does shows on the side with another student my partner also taught last year ironically. You are a wise sole beyond your years and I have no doubt whatsoever that you could even be a one man band like her students did to make records. Keep up the amazing job and I look forward to saying I remembered watching you when you were posting videos at 12 playing Guns N’ Roses.

My friend, who is no longer with us, would have loved this. You are very talented. Keep it up, great stuff. I shed a year for that good friend of mine who would have tried to tell me this was better than the pop rock stuff I love. You are talented enough to take on an old soul song. And you nail it.
Bravo, bravo. 💪🤘

You are an amazing guitarist and talented vocalist! I saw your video with your band when you were 12, and I'm glad I looked to see how you turned out! Keep it up because in case you haven't heard, the music industry today needs some talented young people like yourself, who appreciate good music, to save it from the boring monotony that it has become! I subscribed because I expect to see some great things here, dude!🤘🤘🤘
Just beautiful! Thank you for this.

Love this song! It seems even nicer with the ever so slightly slow pace in the beginning leading to the almost quietly played sporadic power chords. It makes me feel as though the song is gonna take a 80's rock crescendo but then leads you back down to the falling FIRE & RAIN... Very nicely done sir...

You are an incredible musician. Somebody had shared your video from years ago of Sweet child on my facebook. Take it from a guy who had a band 25 years ago and rehearsed that song til I puked for our set list that that song, if you play it right, is more of a challenge than one would think. You guys were over the top for your ages. Much respect. Take care and keep on rockin!

I am new to your channel. Stumbled upon some video of 12 years doing GnR and down the rabbit hole I went, until I got here. Your growth, as witnessed through your videos, has been constant and I am eager to see where it takes you. You are a joy to listen to. I don't know which I enjoy more, the guitar playing or your singing. I also don't know if you have any of your original stuff on the channel, since I only discovered it 30 minutes ago, but I am very interested to hear something that comes from you. Good luck. I am sure in the not so distant future, I am going to say, "Stratton James? Yeah I heard of him. Hell, I've been listening to him since 2021."

Man I am late to the game with you brother! I stumbled some of your stuff looking up covers. And then I found this one, and this is one of my all time favorite songs and it reminds me of my grandpa that passed in 2011! James Taylor is an all time legend and you did a great job!! Definitely hitting the sub button on this!!
