Do not judge Islam based on us ordinary Muslims who are misinformed and uneducated on the specific laws of Islam. Especially in an era where people with very little knowledge would speak up and give you information like they know everything. Islam is the most complete religion. A former Christian at work told me how amazing Islam is in terms of giving us guidance for literally everything in life, from how to enter your house, to which foot you wear your shoes on first. And that is what essentially Islam is. A way of life. So it's always good to do research.

Sister, may I ask you questions regarding halal way of “adopting/fostering” a child? InShaaAllah it is one of my plan if ever I grow older and remain unmarried and childless. I would like to ask about the documents and naming of the child, since we have to follow islamic rules regarding this topic. And did your foster mother become your “milk mother”? Or not? May Allah reward you and your foster mother with good and increase the love and care between you two ❤

My husband was adopted by a muslim family at birth. His adopted parents never told him he was adopted until few months ago which he is 54 years old now. This was a shocking news for us and had emotional impacked on us and our teenager children. He doesn't know what race he is but base on his appearance he look like chines. His biological mother passed away 10 years ago and he had a chance to meet his biological mother but his adopted parents did tell him nothing about his mother and his real identity. What does Islam says about these kind of adopted parents and what is my husband's right as a child and now adult in Islam that had been decived by ppl like that?

Sister if you are referring to your will, that you wish to donate all your possessions to charity after your death, in that scenario even if you don't have children you may have parents, siblings, cousins, a spouse etc who are legally mandated by Allah to have a share in your inheritance and you cannot deny them this. Consult with a scholar or muslim professional to see how your possessions will be divided. You may give upto one third of your wealth in charity but not more, if you have any relations mentioned as inheritors in the Quran. If what you meant was you wish to give your wealth in charity during your life, and you are not terminally ill, then you may give as much of your wealth as you like, even all of it, as long as it does not lead to you falling short of your responsibilities (like paying your bills or supporting your relatives). And Allah knows best

sister i am learning and taking lessons in the deen. I feel like i am at a point where i can start giving fiqh answers but i still advice people to do research(when i say research i mean go to the quran or bukari or muslim, not google). The sharia does state once you and your partner separate, the person who will take the role of the father would be the oldest son. I am 15 years old and my brother in law has a sister, he has a degree in islamic studies, and what they have done is that, since their father is gone, he takes the role since he is the oldest son. So insha Allah this is how i understood it.

She is now 15 years old and i raised her like i raised my biological children which are 5. I love her like my own daughter. I do not know her parents. The police could not find.them. if i do not know her parents is it ok to give the same name as my other children?. I could not let her know before now, because I was protecting her feelings but I am planning to tell her this coming summer now that she is grown up and can handle the situation

It's breastfeeding but not through the wife, what I'm saying is, the sister of the husband can breastfeed the child so the child is mahram to the father because it's their niece/nephew. And the sister of the wife can breastfeed the child so it also becomes mahram to her. In this way the foster child will be mahram to all the family. I hope I gave a clear explanation.

In situations where the child is abandoned or adopted from an orphanage from a very young age (within the first few weeks of his/her life. How does the mehram issue and the lineage issue be resolved?

@@heyhey-pd6ew In many third world countries the orphanages that allow adoptions don’t have such records. Sometimes babies are left at their doorstep or abandoned due to poverty. Expecting to find lineage records is not realistic in most cases. The lactation issue is also something only Allah knows the answer to because I personally know a few couples who adopted babies and those kids are now almost 10 years old. No one ever advised them or guided them on this so the babies weren’t breastfed (with medication). To say that those kids will become non-mehram to their adoptive parents doesn’t make sense to me. All I know is Islam is very logical. Allah knows best.

Question when it comes to mahram. As a single woman that hasn't lactated what should I do if I choose to adopt? I figured I should adopt girls, no mahram issue. But then I thought; if I ever get married my husband wouldn't be mahram for them so they'd always have to be fully dressed in the house. So I thought I should adopt boys because then if I get married, I'd be the only one uncomfortable fully dressed in the house versus I'm comfortable but all my daughters can't be. Or do I just stay single, solidify my finances so I can adopt orphan girls and call it a day?
