The sister translating to sign language is doing a great and rare job for Muslims with hearing loss , may Allah grant her Jannat Al-Ferdous :)
MaashaAllah I thought about Hajar a lot when I was doing sa'ee during Umrah a couple of years ago. Very emotional. Seeing all this men and women from all walks of life, rich and poor following in her footsteps. Doing what she did (the raml). A black, slave woman - often disregarded by the world and looked down upon, but whom الله سبحانه و تعالى honoured, so that it does not matter who your as a Muslim, whether you're a king or some other billionaire, part of your rituals of Hajj and Umrah, is to follow her actions. If الله سبحانه و تعالى raises you, then nothing else matters.

Jazakallah bikhair for this enlightenment
How sad and heartbreaking the story behind this name hajar😭😭 the trust she put in Allah each and every time been tested, explain why Allah honoured her in front of muslims up until now. As a wife, a mother, ya Allah this is really heartbreaking.
SubhanAllah I will be performing umrah in December InsyaAllah and this will be embedded in my head as I perform sa’i. May we be women as steadfast and as grounded in our iman as Hajar was.

Jazak Allahu Khayr Sh. Omar. In the book Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar): Biography of the Prophet (sAaw), I read that "It is popularly believed that Hajar was a slave girl, but the great scholar and writer Qadi Muhammed Sulieman Mansurpuri has indeed verified that she was not a slave but in fact the daughter of Pharaoh (Rahmutul-lil-'Alamin 2/36, 37: Tarikh ibn Khaldun 2/1/77)." Allah knows best, I'm just sharing what I read.
I am considered to Muslim people " people of the Book". This message is one that is truly anointed,&Sh Omar Suleimam Allah's humble servant , I will keep in my prayers. Peace !

I love how Ibrahim a.s started with his Dua that he made for his family, ya Allah make them people who perform the Salah and after that he said give them food. Even after their in need of food first subhanallah.
Allah always sends a message right on time. Allah has you, he never leaves his people in loss.
I've learnt that Mother Hajar is from the spring of the Nile - which is in Ethiopia. (This used to be part of Masr before it was divided into Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia.). Please clarify.

As I am watching this, to blow your mind, I just heard Yeshua say to me{not to take away from Hagar} in terms of lineage-"Dave, Go Back one step back. In Genesis "Let us make man, which the actual word is"mankind" hence male & female in our own Image & Likeness. Before Ibrahim was I AM! Ibrahim's seed was given to Hagar, both of them accepted by Allah before they were ever born because Allah saw EVERYONE OF US! Luv You!
I am not a scholar, but I've read a few biographies on the life of Rasulullah (saw). My concern is the disparaging light in which Hajjar is almost always portrayed. Why do the majority of scholars try to pass her off as Sara's "hand maiden"? And, either Martin Lings or Adil Salahi (I forget which) go so far as to say that the union of Ibrahim (as) and Hajjar happened because of Sara's prayer to God. (They both, in their respective books, label her a slave.) Other sources -- those I'm most apt to accept-- portray Hajjar as an Egyptian princess given by her father to Ibrahim (as) in marriage in order that she might be taught Islam. My acceptance of the latter version is purely intuitive. For I have found that more often than not, the more marginal story is the one that often proves to be true. Additionally, this world is one that seems to enjoy marginalizing people of African descent. So, it's not at all hard to imagine that this African woman-- Hajjar-- has suffered severe demotion over hundreds of years.

I have a recent version of the sealed nectar (in Arabic) with new footnotes from scholars which includes the following: In the book "tareekh ibn khaldun" that there was a discussion between Amr Ibn al-Aas (RA) and the people of Egypt that hajar was the wife of one of the rulers in Egypt and her husband was killed in one of the wars and she was taken as a slave by a tyrant. This corroborates the hadith in Bukhari that Shaykh Omar Suleiman mentions. So yea she was originally a princess but was taken as a slave by that tyrant pharaoh and Allah freed her and made her the wife of Ibrahim (AS). So it's not disparaging her to say she was initially a slave girl but Allah wanted her to get married to Ibrahim (AS) and elevated her from the social status of being a servant. The tyrant in Egypt had enslaved her. Allah had freed her from slavery. She was initially at the service of sarah as the hadith mentions but then Allah eventually got her married to Ibrahim (AS). Just like He (swt) elevated the social status of someone like Ata ibn abi rabah who was initially at the service of Aisha (RA) as a servant then she noticed his ability to learn and freed him to go benefit people with his knowledge.

How many pharaohs were there I’m confused cos there’s was pharaoh in prophet Yusuf’s time (AS) and there was pharaoh in prophet Mosas time (AS) and also Ibrahim (AS) was pharaoh one guy or or many different guys?
Didn’t do justification to Hajar a.s. The lecture talks about all others around her but not her in particular.
What is the true name of Lady Hajar??
Am'en
Rebecca
I am blessed to give this story to many...this is a GIFT from ALLAH
I love this sooo much... Subhanallah!
Aslamoalykum is Hajar And Hajara is same ....please answer
If her name isn't hajar what is it?
That etymology you have for the name Hagar/Hajar is a folk etymology; it's a false etymology. The name is derived from the Hebrew Bible and possibly means "flight/fleeing" in Hebrew, although it could also have an Egyptian origin.
We all know these stories but here in another perspective 👍🏻🌷🌷 indeed very beautiful 🌺

Assalam wbt. Having a sign language interpreter is like align the camshaft sprocket timing marks...so brilliant..i'm so impress to you my dearly sister, alhamdulillah, amen.
Pls correct me from wrong... he kept saying the pharaoh!!! It is not!!! According to the Quran the king of Egypt at the time of Joseph wasn't called yet a "pharaoh" as the Quran addressed him as "the king"!!! On the other hand, at the time of moses, who came years and years later, the Quran addressed the ruling person of Egypt at that time "the pharaoh" because by the time moses was born the pharaohs dynasty was in power!!! And this is considered as a miracle of the Holy Quran considering how accurate the Quran is even in the terms it uses, thus it only could be from a divine being!!! Now the Question is, why Shiekh Omar kept saying the pharaoh while it's waaaay back in time before the time of Joseph!!! That's what I'm wondering!! Pls if you get my point answer my question and let me know whether I was right or not!!! Best Regards.

Wrong. Joseph was one of the grandchildren of Ibrahim so Joseph didn't exist at that time when Ibrahim met that pharaoh. Remember Egypt was Pharoahs first, then it became kings, then it came back again as Pharaohs. The second phase of pharaohs had enslaved Israelites. The first period of pharaohs it's possible that Ibrahim (as) was there at that time, and during the time of Joseph (more than a century after Ibrahim (as) ) is when it became kings. It is likely that at the time of Ibrahim (AS) it was still not conquered by the Hyksos and it was still pharaohs not yet kings.

The hadith he cites in Bukhari doesn't specify pharaoh or King just says "tyrant" (original arabic says jabaar min aljabaabirah): Narrated by Abu Huraira: Abraham did not tell a lie except on three occasion. Twice for the Sake of Allah when he said, "I am sick," and he said, "(I have not done this but) the big idol has done it." The (third was) that while Abraham and Sarah (his wife) were going (on a journey) they passed by (the territory of) a tyrant. Someone said to the tyrant, "This man (i.e. Abraham) is accompanied by a very charming lady." So, he sent for Abraham and asked him about Sarah saying, "Who is this lady?" Abraham said, "She is my sister." Abraham went to Sarah and said, "O Sarah! There are no believers on the surface of the earth except you and I. This man asked me about you and I have told him that you are my sister, so don't contradict my statement." The tyrant then called Sarah and when she went to him, he tried to take hold of her with his hand, but (his hand got stiff and) he was confounded. He asked Sarah. "Pray to Allah for me, and I shall not harm you." So Sarah asked Allah to cure him and he got cured. He tried to take hold of her for the second time, but (his hand got as stiff as or stiffer than before and) was more confounded. He again requested Sarah, "Pray to Allah for me, and I will not harm you." Sarah asked Allah again and he became alright. He then called one of his guards (who had brought her) and said, "You have not brought me a human being but have brought me a devil." The tyrant then gave Hajar as a girl-servant to Sarah. Sarah came back (to Abraham) while he was praying. Abraham, gesturing with his hand, asked, "What has happened?" She replied, "Allah has spoiled the evil plot of the infidel (or immoral person) and gave me Hajar for service." (Abu Huraira then addressed his listeners saying, "That (Hajar) was your mother, O Bani Ma-is-Sama (i.e. the Arabs, the descendants of Ishmael, Hajar's son)." (Bukhari volume 4 book 55 kitab hadith al-anbiya)
